The short models still look short, but elegant and well-proportioned & graceful. You don't have to be tall to look good. Petite is Feminine. So is curvy! I Love it!

I gave up on the malls years ago for petites! Start your search for petite clothing on line. If you have had good luck with certain brands, look on their websites too. If you sew, consider making your clothing, or hire a seamstress to make them for you. I will admit finding a fabric store is a much bigger challenge these days! Because I do not have a formal lifestyle, I have had luck with Appleseeds, Damon and Draper and National offering casual clothing that I can wear (I am 5' and shrinking!). Good luck!

Petite... wear all one color... Monochromatic... wear vertical stripes, never horizontal stripes. Wear trousers with slim legs. That's my advice as a 55 inch little person.

Here’s what’s discouraging! I’m 105 lbs, 5’ even but a 32D chest & I look heavy in practically everything I wear. I have no torso, so no matter the bra, I just look frumpy. And I cannot wear heels due to foot & back pain. 😔

I can relate. Have challenges: 5'1" 138lbs, short waisted, 42DDDbra, and with bad feet. In my overhaul, I try for the best uplifting bra so I don't look so much like a cow which is most important. Straight leg pants. Comfy sandals or "knit" air cushioned closed round toed shoes. Slim fit tops that go in at the waist then taper out some, and always a scoop or V neck. I'm having fun revamping my look. There are videos for large breasted women's fashions, and for shorter women with great tips.

youcan get away with a lot of styles if you are tall slim or flat chested. short with breasts and hips not so much.

The rules apply regardless. Play to your proportions as a petite and then adapt to your shape ( such as curvey and so forth). Flowy high waist bottom with fitted top. Flowy top with fitted bottom. All kinds of body type petites were represented in this video. If you have time go to the mall and try things on according to the rules and it doesn't have to be expensive to look good. You're going to school and not necessarily buying unless you find an outfit that works. If not just walk away and try again another day but do not buy if you're not totally satisfied or save the receipt for a return. Frustrating at first but you will learn what looks good on you. It takes time. Non petites can't figure it out either. Been there, done that. Still learning! Good luck!

I forgot to mention that belts are a game changer because they can tie an outfit together. Especially but not necessarily if they go with your shoes. Google belts and scarves for how to's.

Monochromatic colors, vertical and diagonal stripes, darker colors, paired with a colorful scarf, vertical contrast colors (ex: navy dress, with lighter center panel) and better quality clothing all help shorter, heavier set ladies. Walking tall in your clothing helps project height too

I have a very wide foot, so pointed shoes are a "no go", but I make sure I have coordinating colors for pants (dark with dark/light with light) and I carry that color match with similar colored socks too. I try for nude color shoes for skirts and dresses, with a nude color stocking to not break up the visual look.
