In my experience your right, except for PS3 and 720p games. On both of my 4K TV's 720p games looked worse than they do on a 1080p screen.

Darkstar Spacer there is different hdr screens there is hdr8 and hdr10 now if you have a 4k hdr10 tv its is far more superior to a hdr8....the 1080p hdr tvs are not a hdr10 there is a huge difference

You can now include Red Dead Redemption 2 on this list. The scenery looks majestic in RDR2. Sometimes I just go to the edge of a cliff and sit there doing nothing but just looking at how beautiful the world of RDR2 looks. The game deserves to be played on a PS4 Pro and a 4k TV. Although the only thing I don't like about the graphics in RDR2 is the facial animation of the characters and NPCs in the game, something of which Rockstar aren't great at, if you look at their GTA games, but that's not such a big deal anyway.

ahmed Othman Yea, but some developers specifically built a pro version of their game to maximize their visual and graphic performance. The real kicker isn't actually the 4k either, it's the HDR to be honest. That's when the visuals really get an image of the developers expectations I feel. Really captures the insane backdrops and stuff. Truthfully though, anyone with eyeballs can see just how gorgeos a game is on the most basic of conventional TV's because games just look absolutely gorgeous.

Most cheap 4k tv’s on sale xmas don’t have HDR. HDR is more noticeable and important than resolution. Make sure you know what you’re buying

I'm still using my 1080p Toshiba Regza that I bought in 2008.. there was a phase of 3DTVs which i didn't fancy and then 4K came along but they were so expensive with very little to use with one so I held off. Don't do it. If you consider upgrading, a decent 4K HDR TV should be your first priority. PS4 Pro is optional.

You need a TV with HDMI 2.0 or better to do 60hz 4K and I believe HDR. HDR is more impressive than 4K as far as change goes but you will have to decide if buying a new TV is worth it or not. HDR makes colors brighter and stand out. I use Hisense 50" 4K HDR TV. At Walmart the 55" 4K HDR TV is $399 and this is a non-sale price. On your system you will only be able to run 4K games at 30hz with the PS4 Pro because your system is 1.4.

Too bad there's a "handshake" issue that make the screen go black repeatedly when you set it up for full 4k, you can fix this issue by lowering the quality but then what's the point of a 4k console if it can't play in 4k. Which is why my pro is back at best buy and I now have a one x, it even plays 4k blurays unlike the pro. I will be back with sony if the ps5 isn't a let down like the pro.
