The PS4 Pro is the best thing to happen to consoles in a long time. I can't believe how remarkable some of the Pro games look on my 70" 4K TV. Without it there would be no Scorpio next year so console gaming is getting the shot that it needed with these higher quality graphics. Might start getting console versions of games over the PC versions now.

I just got a Pro and I've been playing The Last of Us remastered on a 4k display. Locking the game to 30fps just feels so bad for some reason, like it's much choppier than other games running at 30fps. Uncharted 4 plays just fine at 30fps, but for some reason I just can't stand the 30fps mode in TLoU.

Yeah, on my PS4 Slim TLOU runs FHD/60 but when I locked it to 30 FPS it looks terrible. Meanwhile U4 on 30 FPS looks awesome.

I recently upgraded to a PS4 Pro and got myself a Panasonic 750b. I have been most impressed with HDR from Gears of War 4 and Forza Horizon 3 on Xbox One. Skyrim Remastered on the Pro looks unreal in Native 4k (I first played Skyrim on PS3), and seeing Rise of the Tomb Raider in 4k resolution mode is an absolute treat for the eyes(HDR update would be even nicer though). The Last of Us Remastered in 4k mode I don't like. There's a lot of motion blur. Playing at 1800p 60fps with HDR enabled is the best way to play.

USMAN HUSSAIN lol, nothing on the ps4 is native 4k... The game itself (pc) is 4k, not what plays on the PS4 Pro. First of all the GPU doesn't have enough memory to render native 4k, second with 4.6 t-flops, you'd get about 18-25fps at native 4k. Please learn the difference between upscaling and native.

The Witness just went on sale for $20 and supports native 4k HDR on the 'pro' and looks beautiful. Playing on the KS8000 and the difference in color between HDR 'on' and 'off' is pretty huge in that one too... They really took took full advantage of the wider color space.

I don't understand why the 1080p modes in Rise of the Tomb Raider have such poor antialiasing, that's the only thing that makes then look bad. Also Geothermal Valley has a lot of frame drops in 4k mode.

Just look at games like Uncharted 4 and Ratchet & Clank, they both have great antialiasing even on the standard Ps4, and they look super sharp on the Pro. In actuality I notice less screen tear on XBOne than PS4 (could be attributed to the ES RAM usage)... I actually own all of them because I have mobility (which I need with a wife and kids). +MrKmanrambo That my friend is true. However there are a few things you should be aware of. Firstly we've got Nintendo who are EXTREMELY strict on using their gameplay especially for current generation consoles to the point the Nintendo Switch has a massive embargo against reviewers or analysts revealing any footage of the switch to the point anyone who breaches their non-disclosure will likely be hit with an injunction. Then there's Microsoft who while they are more lenient the only upcoming console they have is Scorpio which hasn't even had it's dev kits sent out. Sony have released VR, PS4 Pro and The Slim all within a short period of time and that's why it's currently the most reviewed because at the moment it's the only one that's readily available. Gotta admit (as both console and PC player), you're right. The devs, as well as Sony should've aimed at STABLE 1080p60 or, if possible, at 1440p60. Besides, some of the examples show the bias of some publishers towards the titles they deem "more successful" (or something like that), for example: Ubisoft's "Ezio Collection" (which, at a closer look, is a half-baked release - draw distance and 1080p30?) got a PS4 Pro patch, while neither Unity nor Syndicate, which could benefit greatly from the new platform (though mid-gen would be a more suitable term), were left out. Another example: even though this probably due to NetherRealm working on something else, WB responsible for publishing both Shadow of Mordor and MKX. But one of them got patched, while the other one... well, you know.

You clearly haven't been watching the videos. They constantly talk about how great Tomb Raider is because you can choose between 1080p quality, 1080p max frame rate, 4K quality, 4K max frame rate, and how they wish all games would give so many options so the end-user can choose which they prefer. And yes, of course 1800p makes better use of a 4K TV than 1080p. The main reason 1800p is used so much is because Sony recommend it in their guidelines for Pro as that is what the hardware assisted checkerboarding was designed for. The developer has to do more work to use other resolutions/techniques. There is definitely merit, no amount of tweaking PC games can get such a smooth but still sharp image as several PS4 Pro games have. Believe me, I have tried.

I can guarantee you that MS with the Scorpio will have the same problem, that's why there will be no 60 fps games either on that platform. I have been a console player since 5th grade.Now im in college and currently own a ps4 (standard version) and honestly i somewhat regret buying the console. My recent purchases are far cry 4 and the last of us.Once im done playing those games, i will be done with console gaming for good. Consoles are not worth it. Parents, please do yourself and your kid (s) a favor and don't buy a console.Instead have someone with experience in the field help you build a PC if you are not comfortable with following the many many tutorials on youtube.

Thank you for first hand experience on this, I'm in 8th grade and I can't convince my friends that the Ps4 is underwhelming, even though all roads point to it being inferior. Paying for online, no new technology (compared to PC), and lack of quality games - Just Cause 3 and Rocket League, 2 popular games among my peers, both seem pretty lackluster. Many franchises have been ruined as a result of the new "target audience" - Metal Gear became open world for example.

On that I can agree with. I think the results could be interesting as some games seem to be punching well above what a comparable PC could handle, due to clever upscaling. There is also the fact few PC games can even upscale to a HDTV. Most games I have to run at 1080p 60fps because 1440p only works at 30Hz to my TV, I have to game on my monitor to get 1440p 60Hz. :( All these PC gamers slagging off PS4 Pro don't seem to actually understand any of this.
