@@mountainkat5248 I would consider them an “expensive as hell” house. It's not that people overlook the house, it's just that few can afford the brand. It doesn’t help that they’re hard to find at discounters. If you get off on paying 5x what something should cost, just because others can’t, welcome to your new favorite brand. I would consider Creed in the same vein. But at least Chris Collins isn’t so “stuffy”, or gives off that old, Englishman aesthetic. With CC you do get great quality, but you can get similar quality from Nishane or other cheaper houses. I also don’t care that they’re black owned, but others may pay more for that DEI crap. Just my .02 cents.

Argos and Zaharoff, which seems like A to Z of niche houses, are brands i truly enjoy. I love Danae and Halfeti Black Rose. I cant wait for Argos' release for 2024 and the upcoming Zaharoff Seraphim Blue which will be released tomorrow

You’re the first person, besides myself, bringing up Seraphim Blue (I’m stoked about it, but not as much as TLTG). I don’t know if you watch him on KZbin or not, but he’s worn Seraphim Blue every day for like the last 3 weeks. Just for clarification, the pre-order started this past Monday on Zaharoff’s website for Seraphim Blue. But the release date for the fragrance is not until June 1st.

Mind Games is that one for me. I have gotten both discovery sets but plan to buy multiple bottles. Gardez and checkmate are my favorites. Also I love MFK, where you can also sample everything they offer.

For me personally, there is no house that matches Amouage. The compositions are absolutely unique , the quality of the ingredients is superior , longevity is crazy good, and the packaging is gorgeous ( although I do wish they would return to the heavy, top loading storage boxes ). Is this an expensive house ? Hell yes. Is it worth every penny ? You bet.

I know I’ve brought this house up in the comments before, and I know you’ve said you have to check them out. I also know that you have a TON of options to choose from so I get it. However… If you end up doing a 2nd (or 3rd…) round of this format, it seems like the perfect excuse to try Zoologist. Bottles are beautiful (heavy glass, quality atomizers, wonderful custom artwork), scent profiles are unique with a great range of styles, and (at least from what I remember), you can get their entire line in 2ml samples directly from them, along with 10ml travels. I’d love to see a 2nd round no matter which brands you pick. Great content as always, Justin. Hope you’re doing well.

I now am very interested in Amouroud. They have unique fragrances as well with very high quality. I had heard a lot of hype with Wet Stone.. now I know why. Bottles are exquisite. The other 2 houses which I cannot stop purchasing from are Cartier and Hermes. Neither is niche but have very high quality fragrances that from time to time catch me off guard. I don’t like boring. But there are so many others that I can’t stop loving.. BDK, Nishane, Habibi, Aqua di Parma..all may not have discovery sets but this is why we have reviewers like you.

@@stayfreshproductions I bought 5 in 3 weeks.. got happy. Loving Klarna and PayPal. I bought almost the entire White Collection..Wet Stone, Lunar Vetiver, Himalayan Woods, Silver Birch and White Hinoke… love them all…although Himalayan was a nice scent but smelled like a niche Gucci Guilty. Lunar Vetiver as you know is good. Silver birch is very nice. Hinoke is Japanese Cypress… sharp but fresh. I may buy a few more but from the dark collection… we seem to have similar tastes so I am going to try one of the oud ones you reviewed. The ladies at Nordstroms don’t like me . They talk to me as if I was in a Whore house.. “he sniff but he don’t buy.”

I've been working my way through Alghabra, Jovoy, Vertus, and Orto. Masque Milano, too. Eye of Seven Hills is always sold out. Ottoman Treasure and Istanbul Soul have been my favorites. I have 7 Jovoy decants, and I really can't pick a favorite because 6 of them are amazing. Don't like celery, though. Alghabra is getting mentioned a lot, but nobody mentions Poem of Damas. It's really beautiful.

I only sampled one amouage fragrance, but even from that i can tell you it’s packed with naturals. the sample had a really rich golden color and it was viscous. I just find my skin has a hard time pushing it off, MFK’s perfumery works way better for me.

Very nice house. I have 5 and will buy more. They have classy, heavy bottles and tops and the fragrance is normally on another level.. not to mention I have never smelled a “weak” one.. they have very long legs. I have learned .. just like with PDM fragrances.. do not overspray. I got choked out on Sedley.

I watch the Niche Fragrance Collector (out of Australia) and he did an introductory video on Jovoy and he said the two best fragrances to try if you’re just wanting to dip your toe into the brand are "Fire at Will" and "Pavilion Rouge". He said that they are the most generally liked scents the brand offers. Just an FYI, Maxaroma sells the brand, they're not too expensive ($200 before any discount). With what designers cost now, that’s not too bad. If you don’t know, you can use either Gents10 or Gents20 at Maxaroma for either 10 or 20% off, one is guaranteed to work. OK, I’ll leave you alone now. Happy Sniffing!!!

Gambit is next on my list as far as Mind Games goes. I've gone through two samples of it now. Am I the only one that gets a bit of a Fierce/Legend type of thing with this one? I never hear anybody say it, but I feel like it has elements that sit in that same ballpark.

I got to try mind games I'm hearing a lot of good things about the house. I want to try French Defense I love cherry fragrance. People can hate all they want but pdm,initio they have one of the best oils around. I have read up on a lot things

Other than a few sniffs on paper, haven't tried Jovoy yet. I have started exploring its sister brand, Jeroboam, finding it very interesting, and having purchased my first bottle from the line. Question, how does Zaharoff's Black Rose Halfeti compare to Penhaligon's Halfeti and Halfeti Leather, both of which contain rose.

I’ve recently discovered Lorenzo Pazzaglia and Une Nuit Nomade and I urge you to give them a shot. If you’re looking for summer scent, Black Sea, Sex Sea and Summer Hammer from Lorenzo are sooo good. Suma Oriental from Une Nuit Nomade is amoung my top picks for this atumn/winter, very boozy, chocolate patchouli.

Yes, they sure as hell are. But so are a lot of niche houses (even desigers are reaching the $200 price point now, thanks Joe Biden)! But that doesn’t mean Mind Games doesn't make a damn fine fragrance. And it’s not like you can take the money with you when you die. What else are you going to spend your money on, your kids? Ha! Don’t make me laugh. I consider smelly water an excellent investment opportunity!
