Good evening Dr Chung this is Karen from Santa Ana California and I came upon your videos in my regular medical feed videos on different medical subjects. I as of last week and sporadically throughout my life have experienced what you described in this video but never knew how to describe it. It has never been a regular problem but again the information you have presented relieved me greatly and assured me it has been no thing more than fissures not hemorrhoids. Thank you very much for being a blessing as heaven itself made your videos pop up tonight. Believe me when I say this as I've never seen you or your videos until tonight CA time. Also after viewing this video and even before I could tell from your face you have a spiritual air about you and an honest down to earth demeanor that I could tell immediately that you knew what you were talking about and are a real doctor. I just became a new subscribe Mr and saw this was made two months ago that let me know that you are still alive and well Lololol Stay safe and careful and thank you again❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you so much for your help. I've been in agony for almost a year. Went to a Gastro, they sent me to a wound clinic, no one knew what it was. A nurse said to use Desitin. It helped for awhile. Now I have you to give me so much info, so thankful. Searched and found a cream with the same ingredients in it as what you recommend and it has helped. Itching was so horrible, and had so much pain. This week another Dr is going to examine, maybe get a diagnosis I hope. I'm 81, never had anything like this. So glad someone has so much info and shares it with us. You are a 👍 Godsend!! In 1976 I had an episode of burning. The doctor said Aquaphor. The problem went away in 2 weeks. In 2009 a doctor gave me Crestor. It caused the problem to come back permanently. I told a doctor I had acid butt hole. He gave me prilosec. Prilosec only works 12 hours for me. But out of desperation I made an applicator for aquaphor. You have the outside and inside and everything in between The applicator is for in between. The interior of my body was made to handle it. The outside can be cleaned easily and then the 3/8" in between. Fifteen years later and they are trying to figure it out. One doctor said it is pancreatic incompetence. I have used lidocane with cortizone. I try to look up why the product went off the market and it doesn't pull up. Aquaphor may not be made for interior but that's really not where I put it

Question: Hello Mr. Chung. Im currently 23 (turning 24 in March) & this is something that happens a very few often/sometimes since Middle-School but not very often or a everyday thing. There are instances in which whenever Im not at home in public restrooms (High-School, College, Mall, etc) I had a Bowel-Movement/Diarhea & because of bad toilet paper, my butt is not as clean but once I get home to fully clean it up (because Im more of a Baby-Wipes type of guy), there is a small streak of blood on the toilet paper/baby wipes. The small streak/stain of blood was very dry & was covered in my brown poo but its noticiable & the feeling is uncomfortable as my butt itches & stings everytime I wipe. After always noticing it the first time, & wiping a few more times, its gone. After that the next day I poop, its back to normal. Is this normal or something serious? There is no blood on the stool or toilet bowel as my poop is still normally brown (though there were tiny instances when i was young in between Middle & High-School in which my stool had few of that but my mom told me I wasnt drinking enough water. So I just accepted what she said & every few times I noticed this I for some reason dismissed it). Till this day, I still notice it but its not an everyday thing as it happens a tiny few times every year. The feeling is very stingy & itchy in my butt & whenever I shower using my hands, the itch in my butt is very annoying but not painful. The small streak wasnt dark so I dont think its Melena, which is something I have just recently searched up. I do tend to go diarhea alot but not every time or day because I do admittedly eat alot. I dont always record how my poop is but I do remember few instances in which mine was green also. Should I talk to a doctor ?

Hi Dr Chung I have been watching all your contents regarding haemorrhoid banding. I had 4 internal and 1 large extrenal banded 2 weeks ago my question is the pain is absolutely excruciating even during the procedure i was give absolutely no pain relief and told to bite down on the pillow if the pain was too much. I left the hospital half an hr later doubled over in absolute pain ( gone thru 3 labours with no pain relief) but this was unbearable I needed to get to a toilet straight away while still in the hospital grabbing on to the walls as i felt i needed to use my bladder and bowels the pain in stomach was horrible. As mentioned 2 weeks later and the pain is unbearable every time i use my bowels there is blood and finding it difficult to pass urine. I am so scared to go back to the specialist at the hospital for the 6 week check up. Would greatly appreciate any input as i am living in the UK. Thank you so much for all your postings so informative only which I had you performing the procedure. Feeling anxious and scared as I don't want anyone near there again. Take care.

Doctor Chung, my doctor diagnosed me with fissure and prescribed topical nifedipine and stool softener. I was fine for around 10 days, also I shifted to an almost vegan diet with higher proportions of fibre but I just had my periods 3 days back and I'm back to square one. My stool is soft but I have to go to washroom multiple times (~5) in the last few days and it is again bleeding. I have started pause tablet to reduce blood flow but it's still bleeding. I'm really scared, doc said medicine can help, do I need a surgery or do I have something else? He did a digital rectal examination with finger but since my fissure wasn't healed, he said he couldn't go ahead with a proctoscopy probably because my sphincter is tight. Please suggest something, I'm terrified.

Dr Chung, In your opinion is living long term with internal sphincter spasm a problem? As our muscles waste a little with age, could this problem die down a bit on its own? Physical therapy and Botox both did not help me. But many other things have got the pain to manageable day to day levels. The anus still spasms though and BMs can be tough and I still rely on mirilax to not create a new fissure. I figured I could just live like this forever. But I wonder if I should be going back for more physio and Botox and trying again etc.

I can't hold it when I have a bm. It's not watery it is smooth and easy to come out but burns. I don't have regular bm I go like every 3 days since Dec 13 the banding day.

Im afraid i have proctitis or a muscle/spasm injury. For years Ive been looking at articles & keeping in mind keywords for the kind of experience i sometimes get. Recently its been like a "burning" sensation prior to a bowel movement but not a all painful or unpleasant just noticeable enough that i question why the sensation is there. The sensation lingers after a b.m. and does not get worse feeling wise thank goodness. It used to be a radiating sharp pain that i would feel inside my bottom that would just appear from no where and i would almost jump from it, it would pain me badly in that way. That was years ago and not so much lately but around the time i first notice it i was given a barium enema by doctors to see if there was anything. Nothing. But again after much reading i would learn about spasms in the anus and "proc"talgia fugax. I grew & felt relieved but still im afraid because i dont want it to be anything life threatening.
