One really big reason in someone could also be, if someone shows up to a Ketamine clinic and their depression is hormone related. Unfortunately many doctors tend to prescribe medications before the needed hormone adjustments.

Thank you for this video. I tried Spiriva nasal spray, After my 2nd session I became very sick, vomiting, head pounding, etc. I did not continue and had no benefit. I am on benzos and was not properly prepared. With better information I may try the infusion for my med resistant depression

I feel at a loss. I’ve been doing infusions for almost a year now a long with troches in between. It dosnt help. I wake up crying the next day after my oral treatments and my infusions help but sometimes I need two in a row but can’t afford to do two in a month now. I hate this is my last resort and it dosnt help. I’m sick of living like this. Can’t wiat till shrooms are legal and I can microdose for depression. Ketamine made me feel defeated. It helps so many people why can’t it help my messed up brain :(

Nothing happened for my first. I had another and I am starting to feel good and my physical pain has lessened. Did you dissociate? That is very important? I didn't get enough during my first, and I was worse afgerwards. I was so angry and sad and couldn't get out of bed or stop sobbing. I was terrified to try again. I found another clinic that wasn't just looking to get paid, and I keep a diary. I hated the first place and "counselor" so much at the first place, plus I heard all office noises, made going in an uncomfortable thing. Did you have a terrible morning before? I know it's hard to have a good one when everyday is lousy, but I started watching scam baiting and I get a laugh out of just listening. Did you !listen to music during? I listened to Tibetan chants with healing bowls and bells. It was as if it was made for it. I may change it around to see. Did you have an eye cover on? Try again. I am trying to get on every research list for MDMA etc. at different Universities. If you are single and can travel, you may be able to go. University of Michigan, Ann Arbor is doing a full workshop with psychedelic drugs. I wish I could do it. They also have retreats for DMT and ayohouska and others. I am looking into all of it. I’ve battled severe depression for 20 years thats been extremely debilitating. I can’t function or hold job . Been on every ssri you can think of including ECT and finally in process of doing ketamine treatment after I read about it for years . I’ve had high hopes . At moment I’m on my 5th treatment. For my personal experience the first few infusions we started 50 (guessing mg) Doctor just told me 50 . I’m little over 200 pounds and unfortunately I haven’t received any relief or positive experience during the infusion that I hoped I would or like I’ve seen on so many videos. I know there’s no magic drug out there that will change everything but was desperate for relief . This last 5th infusion we moved up to 125 dose . This was first time I had positive experience during the infusion . However I don’t know yet how I’m gonna feel next day yet as just received it . I have my last six infusion coming up in two days . I’m praying that this will be the one to help give me the relief i need or at least notice a difference . I’m scared and hopeful at same time because I don’t know where to go from here if this doesn’t work for me . I’m hopeful I get some relief after this six infusion . I’m really scared as well because I’ve tried everything in past and for so many years felt hopeless and didn’t want to bother even seeing a Physciatrist just to be put back on same ssri that I’ve already been on that’s never worked or just made things worse. I’m happy to see so many are getting the relief from this new ketamine infusion I’m just praying this last infusion will notice a difference as to whether or not i need to make the decision to continue with booster infusion in future as this has cost a lot and not something my family who’s paying for it can really afford to do. But obviously worth it if life changing . Wish everyone the best and hope I get same results as so many others .

It’s hard to tell I had a okay day today . We’re gonna do a 7th infusion in few days because doctor feels we finally figured out right dose . I’m hopeful as I don’t know where to go from here . But staying positive and will keep you posted in few days with update . I just haven’t noticed a huge difference yet but that may come within few days to see if how each day goes by . Thanks for your reply . I could really use help by another expert as my doctor who’s giving me infusion is great but he’s just anesthesiologist . I guess I need to give it some more time to see how my days go . I’m staying hopeful but scared at same time I def need the help and relief I can’t continue my life like this anymore it’s been very long road of SSRI’s and others with no relief for 20 years .

I'm going to Barcelona in September for 8 ketamine sessions/infusions (and possibly in July for 2 sessions beforehand) as nothing like that is possible in France. I'm suffering from chronic pain (11 years in total, but especially for the past 3 years due to a back injury while working out - been on opioids since then with NO solution provided by medical doctors or alternative practitioners) and obviously, depression. I've had a deep interest in Ketamine ever since I read "The Ketamine Papers". Currently the president of Decriminalize Nature France, this is not a substance we're talking about as part of our mission, but somehow I'd like to do something about it in France so we can make people aware of its potential when used in the proper conditions. French doctors are still really ignorant when it comes to psychedelics and ketamine. We're like 15 years late on everything that's going on in the US. Anyways! I have a question regarding your comment on Lamotrigine. You say that Lamotrigine dampens the effect of Ketamine. Is the dampening due to Lamotrigine being present in the system *during* the treatment or in the weeks after treatment? The question is the same for Benzos I suppose. Thank you

So why didn’t ketamine for chronic pain sever all over and internal pain work even being off that long ? I’m given a Versed injection for anxiety before my ketamine injections and I still panic. I feel like I have fight for control of my body but can’t. I try to psych myself up that I will try to relax, but I end up shouting and panicking. I’ve had 9 treatments thus far with little improvement. It’s disheartening.

Hello Dr. I recently had continuous ketamine drip in a hospital for 3 days to no avail. It was for chronic pain. I was befuddled because I have opioid induced hyperalgesia and I was certain it would mitigate my pain. I think maybe they gave me to much. 3 250mg bags. 4 days until my 1st infusion! Thank you for validating my pre-infusion efforts. Doing my due diligence. Downloading music I want to listen to during infusions. Purchase Bluetooth wireless earbuds. Picking a soft (tactile soothing) blanket to take. Setting my intentions, etc. Now I know I'm I on the right track! Thank you for the tip on benzodiazepenes. I was considering taking my Klonopin before my 1st infusion hoping to stay calm through fear & anxiety. I know nit to do that now. I'm on a Clonidine patch. @@vocals1111 It was a series of I think 6 infusions. I was able to have a few 'booster' infusions to help me through some difficult times after I had completed the series. Boosters are nice when I need adjustment. No need for long term drug treatments. It started low and up to a maximum dose for the series, I'm not sure of exact dose, but remember 7 (? units). I chose to not have any outside visual and only Ketamine music for audio stimuli. The dose didn't necessarily seem to effect psychoactive experience, but everyday mental diet did. A couple of times I had more exciting results at lower dose than higher.

I’m not a doctor but you will need to assess yourself. I did 300mg lozenges and it was obviously too high for me. I don’t was static for like 8 hours when typically at 100-200 mg it lasts about 1-3 hours. Now I am advised to do 200mg weekly and do 100mg next day as needed. It’s difficult to tell how much a person gets from lozenges and suppositories due to bioavailability

I’ve been fine taking a little klonapin before my esketamine sessions because I’ve had panic attacks during a treatment. Ketamine has never been a comfortable or relaxing experience for me, so my doctor at the clinic actually recommended taking a small dose beforehand. Ketamine has helped me so much, but without the benzodiazepine beforehand, I would’ve had a VERY uncomfortable experience.

How does clonazepam hinder ketamine? I take klonopin 1mg 3xd and I take 200mg troches each night to help ease my pain then another 100mg for insomnia when I always wake up between midnight and 0300. My issue is, I’ve been on the ketamine for almost 3 years now and it does not work near as well as it originally did. Can one build up a tolerance for the ketamine? Thanks!

Yes, people can absolutely build up a tolerance to ketamine! Regarding benzodiazepines: "In animals, administration of ketamine causes increased metabolism in the limbic system, and this action is selectively blocked by administration of diazepam (Eintrei et al., 1999).Ketamine-induced dopamine release is similarly blocked by benzodiazepines (Irifune et al., 1997)." Benzos are the remediation medication for just about any and every psychotropic substance. If you've taken too many psychotropic drugs at a music festival, for example, and go to the medical tent, they will almost universally administer benzos to normalize your brain and calm you down.

@@KingNurseOR Ketamine is a psychotropic drug. A dissociative with perhaps the most intense hallucinations of any other at high enough dosage. So, not all psychotropic medications are illegal. Nonetheless, the mechanism of action of benzos normalizes the psychotropic effects of these medications/drugs. Benzos are essentially a disable button for these substances. One more question... Why would one just go get an infusion 1-4 times a month if they can go to the pharmacy and get the troches? Is the infusion necessary to see what dosage to prescribe? I ask because maybe an infusion would be better for me than the troches!

I actually get both. The troches help extend the infusion effects so I last longer between infusions. Usually this is only for more severe cases tho. Most ppl don't get both.

@@SybelleSilverphoenix I’ve been wondering about this or the nasal version for in between sessions. I tried to go two months before getting my last booster and it was too long and not as effective and the cost is so high it’s such a bummer. It was still helpful,just not as much as I really needed and I’m really bummed because it was helpful when the treatments were closer together. It’s a lot of time and expense but nothing else helped me. I did intramuscular instead of iv. I’d like to try iv because I know it’s even better statistically but just can’t afford it.

@@alynawatersmusic it's definitely hard. I can't last 2 months even with troches helping me in between. At least not now. I go every month for infusions but the doctor believes that with time I will be able to slowly last longer and longer. I have been on this treatment almost 1 year so I am hoping to test this idea maybe in January and try to go a month and a half, and if successful, try adding a week and then again adding a week.

Mine (former, she made so many rx errors that cost ME money that I stopped seeing her) was just against it and suggested ECT and then sent me downstairs to a psychiatrist who suggested ketamine but took a month to follow up with me, even though I was just a hot mess and so depressed I was crying in the docs office and she handed me off to them and I’m crying in their office, only to find out a month later they wouldn’t consider me as a patient because I didn’t have the insurance they wanted. Thank goodness I wasn’t suicidal but they didn’t know that. Such a crappy system for mental health. Finally found something that helps and probably won’t be able to afford to do it at the frequency I need. It’s so hard not to feel defeated.

If you have the right doctor making sure you’re not getting too high of a dose it’s not. I’ve had 2 so far. I thought it was going to be the worst thing in the world and for me it wasn’t and it has helped me so much. I am however frightened of going higher, I will admit that.

I think it really depends on the doctor, and some doctors don’t do their due diligence and protect and prepare patients for the treatment like they should unfortunately. So far I have had two treatments through my psychiatrists office (I have been seeing said psychiatrist for about four years now) and they have been wonderful. However some clinics are totally just cash grabs who don’t actually care about the patients.

That's a huge dose of bensoz! I was on 3 mg. of Xanax and everyone acted like I was pickling myself. They are attributing them with dementia. Best to only take once in a while. I miss Xanax but my mind is clearer. I never heard of a dose that high.

@@robmullan4395 be very careful the lower dose needs to taper extra long. So many people "jump" because they think a low dose doesn't make much difference. But your brain and entire body has adapted to the presence of benzos , so be very careful. Lots of good supports in Benzo groups...

Who ever invented this medacation is a genius it's the only thing that ever worked for me unfortunately I only got it once cause they had to sadate me for a injury now my new Dr took my medacation away that was keeping me hanging on by a thread she took it away for no ryhm or reason and I'm turning into a vegetable and day buy day I'm losing touch with reality.i guess wene I can't tie my on shoes and don't even remember what my wife's name is it will be ok right.

I’d get a new doctor if I were you, sorry, but your the consumer- you have to advocate for yourself and demand a reason that fits or you have to go somewhere else. I’ve learned this the hard way and trusted to many so say “professionals” believing they always had my best interest in mind and I could trust everything they said without a doubt. Not so….good luck and don’t give up!
