Thank you so much for the info! Was looking into a Cambria countertop called the Golden Dragon that I absolutely love for my new house. So all the info is great to know.

Hi Robert...I have just recently discovered your channel and as a long time interior designer that now is in mostly flooring materials and countertops your video was excellent. I have been through so many vendor product knowledge presentations which honestly as you know can be so biased that your presentations on products is so much more valuable and informative. I have been selling Cambria for over ten years and have gone through several different reps and your info was much more thorough than theirs. Thank you so much for what you are doing through KZbin. Your newest best fan, Kim

Great video. I think 1 through 4 and 6/7 are reasons to buy Cambria. I think 5 is a reason to buy quartz made using Brenton technology, which isn't universal amongst quartz brands but isn't Cambria specific.

Robert thanks for this information but I think you have to check a company called Compac, is a European company that produce a high quality quartz with beautiful designs. But the best highlight is that their Unique collection is made with Bio Resign (vegetable oil) instead standard resin (petroleum), this make the heat resistance to over 600 degrees like no other quartz

I will add that we've had 2 customers in the last couple years utilize their warranty service. Both came away very happy with their experience. Cambria is a premium manufacturer, so expect a higher price for such. There are others manufacturing in the US now, but Cambria remains supreme. The finish has more sheen, their color palate is far wider also.

I tell clients all the time that a warranty is only as good as the company that stands behind it, and Cambria has earned and kept my confidence in their service and warranties so far! Thanks for sharing Lee!

I selected quartz vs granite it came with on our new build home, which we hope to be ready in 4-5 months. They just listed as Fresh Linens Quartz which came in a bundle we picked in “Modern Glam” package the were pretty selected for kitchen design but doesn’t say who the manufacturer is. I doubt track builders would use Cambria but these are nice with unbelievable warranty! Great !content

Cool video! Thanks for the work. To those regulars out there trying to finish this renovation to get to the next one like me save a bunch of money and don’t buy Cambria or Even Caesar Stone just get a quartz counter you think is a good color and some Bon Ami.. Just my opinion.
@RemodelWithRobert
@RemodelWithRobert 3 жыл бұрын
I 100% agree. For a flip or renovation that is mostly focused on immediate ROI, there are a lot of less expensive quartz counters that serve that purpose very well. We carry a few alternate brands we use for a variety of scenarios where a Cambria top is not the best option in terms of the cost/return or even because Cambria doesnt offer a look for everyone's taste

Hi Robert! Thank you for your video. As a designer I have always loved Cambria but it has always been on the higher end of the counter top options in general. I am working on my own personal kitchen renovation and honestly am not impressed with Quartz material. I have it on the bath counter and must say it's very delicate. I was set on granite until I saw Cambria's Berkshire Brass™ Quartz. I am in love with it and so is my husband who absolutely hates quartz bc to him it looks artificial. In your video you mention 2c, with plywood bottom. How much of a savings will I get if I go with the 2cm and plywood vs. 3cm? Just wanted to get your opinion on this. Is it worth the savings? We are a family of four and will use our kitchen.

Just found you! We are doing a kitchen and bath remodel. We were definitely looking at Cambria for our kitchen and master bath and now we are sold. Could you do something on Onyx products for a bath, possibly laundry room?
@RemodelWithRobert
@RemodelWithRobert 3 жыл бұрын
Onyx will operate very similarly to marble in that it is a softer natural stone. It also needs to be sealed and periodically resealed to protect it as well as potentially needing refinishing/polishing down the line with use. Its a beautiful product but definitely a lot more maintenance than a quartz or even granite countertop. Hope that is a help for now! Thanks for checking out my channel!

Hi Robert, I’m interested to buy Cambria 3cm 49” X 22”. - Are you able to tell the load rating if the slab when supported by strong frame or posts installed? - Please tell me the deflection rating of 3cm. 49” X 22” slab supported by opposing beam supports. .. Thank you… looking forward to strength and deflection rating.

Very informative, thank you. In terms of price between wall cladding for the shower vs ceramic tiles, would you say the price is 50% or 2x, 3x more expensive than tile? TY.
@RemodelWithRobert
@RemodelWithRobert 3 жыл бұрын
Various factors could impact the overall difference between tile and Cambria wall cladding, but in general I would expect the wall cladding to at least double the cost of the project from where your tile shower install would start.

This is an excellent video. We are building a new home but purchased a used table with a cambria quartz top and are trying to match it for the new kitchen countertops so we were happy to hear that cambria does not retire patterns. Our local dealer has had no luck matching our table. Have you any suggestions on how to get the name of our pattern?

I should have watched this vediio about the seam and I Did not have a chance now. My countertop will be installed next Thursday . Crossing fingers that the fabricator will do it right! I have a seam next to the sink edge.. hope everything looks good. I picked home depot lakedale this time and I actually did called them for the patterns to be verified before cuting . They told me it's too late late and will take 3 more weeks. ALSO they will want to charge $200 bucks for that. I could not afford another 3 weeks waiting period so I had to let it go.. I like your vedio and I did forward to my friend who is also considering cambria as countertop and full height backslash! Would you let me know if it is better using 3cm for countertop and 2cm for backsplash? Tks !
@RemodelWithRobert
@RemodelWithRobert 3 жыл бұрын
I would say because the backsplash is often taken from the fall off of the same slab that you are using for the countertop, you are going to use the same thickness as the top. In terms of 3cm vs 2cm, either is fine. We do more 2cm with a 4cm edge ourselves, but 3cm slabs are very popular as well.

Great informative lesson on Cambria. I loved the info on the new thicknesses. But where would one get a table made with a Cambria quartz top??
@RemodelWithRobert
@RemodelWithRobert 3 жыл бұрын
Depending on what you wanted the bottom of the table to be you could have a woodworker create the base or someone could weld table legs of metal and build a frame top for the counter to be set onto. Often, people have a fabricator template and set a slab onto an existing table top. It just needs to be sturdy enough to support the weight.

Hi Robert - thanks for this great info. I'm going to get some Cambria countertops installed in my mid-size home kitchen. I know it's hard for you to estimate when you haven't seen a space but my cabinet guy is quoting me 67 hours for installation of the Port Rush Matte finish. It seems REALLY high to me - and this does not include installing the backsplash. What do you consider a reasonable range for this type of job?

Dude I’ve installed 35+ Cambrian counter tops. Now it was through a third party organization. But I would say the most he should charge is 5 hours and that’s with a couple hours of free play for his company

can you tell me the advantages of matte vs polished for my kitchen counter tops.
@RemodelWithRobert
@RemodelWithRobert Жыл бұрын
With Cambria, there is no discernable benefit of one over the other as far as the manufacturer is concerned. I would make the decision on what you personally prefer the look of. I will say that the matte finish often surprises people in terms of showing smudges and spots. The matte finish will still show a lot of smudges and spots, just as the polished will.

Cambria does offer their product in wall cladding for showers but not as individual tiles. I believe that option is only offered in a few products for large scale commercial purposes.

Stupid question: can the 6mm be used for kitchen counter to ceiling backsplash or is it to fragile? I’ve never worked with that material thickness before. Thank you for your time.
@RemodelWithRobert
@RemodelWithRobert 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the 6mm is ideal for areas where weight restrictions might be a concern. I would say 2cm and 3cm are overwhelmingly the most common thickness for a residential countertop but special circumstances might call for another option. Thanks for watching!
