Good Morning, why is tilapia farming not common. isn't there a market for tilapia

Hi Adedamola, Tilapia has a big market in Nigeria, BUT unlike Catfish farming, you cannot farm them in stagnant water. They won't survive! Tilapia needs oxygen from the water while catfish can breath from the air. Max stocking density of tilapia in stagnant pond is just 3 pieces per m2. Farming Tilapia in cages is highly recommended and profitable!
