idk, at least on a sports bike you can squeeze your crotch muscles and hold on with your legs. A little. But I guess it evens out on a bicycle since you're constantly pushing with legs and taking weight off your hands.
@mihel
@mihel 5 ай бұрын
@@yammienoob I'm way more comfortable on my R7 and can use my legs to support my back. To eleviate the strain on my back on a road bicycle I either need to pedal very hard or lean a lot on my wrists. I hate that about my road bike. But maybe it's too long for me. (that's what she said)
@davidnayce7885
@davidnayce7885 5 ай бұрын
@@mihel Depends on the bike and riding posture, as well as your seat. When I cycle, I use a semi-aggressive stance versus fully aggressive lean or neutral because it feels more comfortable for me considering the distance and speed I bike (I regularly make three 33 mile road rides every week for exercise, a little under 2 hrs per ride in a hilly area). Peddling can have adverse effects on your spine and butt depending upon how strong your core is and how aggressively/hard you peddle, where riding a motorcycle you can let your body relax a bit more as it lacks the peddling. If you're doing a relaxing bicycle ride, your body's not going to be under much stress at all... but that ends once you start going longer distances or turning the ride into a workout. In terms of heat sitting in the middle of traffic... yeah, motorcycle is going to be way more uncomfortable due to gear and bike radiating heat! On the plus side, it's more comfortable in colder weather than a bicycle. Personally, I find a motorcycle generally more relaxing than cycling, but being fair one is for fun and the other is for exercise.

I used to commute on an R1. It was heavy and awkward at first but I got used to it quick and it got me in pretty decent shape. After a few weeks or I could be on it for hours without any sense of fatigue or soreness. Next I got an XSR900 because I didn’t “need” a rocket of a bike. It was a great bike but truth is I was bored with it almost immediately. So, I sold that and got another new R1 to commute on. I also picked up a new ZX-6R for my around-town ride. I won’t say they are the most comfortable bikes but keep yourself in decent shape and ride regularly and you’ll be totally comfortable on long rides.

Yeah the engine on that thing is really gr8 but the cheapness elsewhere is lacking-- non-adjustable suspension, too relaxed upright ergo's IMO and bad brakes make it a let down in stock form. I'm a big Suzuki fan but I wish it was a better all around set up because the engine is killer. RS660 nailed what all of these are trying to be.

Dailying a sport bike is not nearly as bad as people like to pretend it is. At most theyre hot in traffic. Thats all. You don't need to be in pocket formation all the time. The seats are large, especially on liter bikes. I can go from riding nearly upright against the tank to full prone position by pushing against the tail. Also they offer wind buffering which is something naked bikes dont do. I can ride my s1000rr all day without a single issues other than my butt gets a lil sore if I sit in one position for an extended amount of time, which is an easy fix with a comfort seat. The only time I had a problem with hand or wrist pain or numbness is because my gloves were too tight. Plus I put a slightly taller aftermarket puig racer windscreen on it and now the wind flows right over my helmet

I'm currently daily a GSX8R. well, not fully daily, any day the weather plays nice, I ride to work. When it's time to get groceries, or it's going to rain on the way to or from work I take the car. But annoyingly, I love riding the bike as much as I can. I say annoyingly because it means if I want to grab a bit to eat before work, I have to go inside. No drive thrus. I can't have a ciggerette because I'm bored at a red light thanks to the helmet. I have to try and beat the crazy amount of people I work with out of the parking lot, or wait for them all to leave. And of course there's taking the backpack in every day, sitting in the hot sun only causing my back to get soaked in my own juices. But at the same time, I get off at 2-4am, somewhere in that time frame. Roads aren't to crowded and when you've had a bad day, 100mph is very easy to obtain with out endangering anyone but your self. So it's somewhat of a trade off. No way could I have just a bike for my only mode of transportation. When you live alone, and have house projects and such that occasionally need done, it's just not reasonable. But I will find any excuse to ride if even for just a trip up the street I can.

I daily drive a 600cc Hornet. An old one, 4 cylinder and carburetors. I love that it's tame at low revs but most of all, I love the refined sound of a 4 cylinder engine. 2 cylinder sound makes my stomach knot...

I daily a 2002 Bandit 1200s. Besides not having ABS or rider aids, it's the perfect bike for commuting. It's fast as heck too, but I can putter around at 15 mph and filter at the same time. I can do almost all the maintenance myself. It's also cheap to run and insure. I keep on thinking of buying something new, but I come back to the Bandit.

I ride a '23 GSXR 750 on average 2-4 times a week depending on the weather. Bought it in May last year and already have 10.2k miles. My commute is 106 miles round trip, and I fill daily with 2.1 gal. It's never that uncomfortable because the route keeps my body moving. I also only hit 4-5 stop lights. The beauty is never being stuck behind a log truck on the back highway with 5 other cars doing 45 in a 55. 😂

Gixxer's are relatively comfy tho, the bars aren't super low and pegs aren't jacked way high. Same with CBRs. R6 and ZX6 are pretty taxing after about an hour and Ducati's are very taxing.

I have a 2023 500 CXA Honda and get 60-75 mpg average highway if I pull with heavy throttle 45-50 mpg Did 300 mile ride on the Honda and filled up once 3.6 gallons after starting with a full tank was down to 1/2 when I got back MT10 40-45 mpg highway if I’m pulling it’s less Did 440 mile ride on the MT10 2x filled up about 3.7 gallons 2.7 and started with a full tank finished 1/4 of a tank Definitely both are ok and getting gas before the next part of a trip that’s long without a station is a great way to hydrate and alleviate before having to crouch behind a bush or Tommy Boy it right next to the highway

I have been dailying my cfmoto 700 clx sport. I love it, that little inlint twin has no problems in stop and go traffic or around curvy residential roads. It makes 70-something HP with great low end torque. Its definitely geared for intown riding so its not great to ride on the highway. Ir laso gets 45 mpg the way i ride it in sport all the time, vut you could probably get 60-65 if you rode it nice in eco mode

I've never understood the lack of low end power argument. is it technically true yeah compared to other set ups in the same displacement range. but like how much do you really need down low, and you can just down shift? I love ringing out my zx4 and will get buried with that bike i think. but on my way to work its perfectly happy to put around at 2-4k revs. most of the time in a parking lot or something i take off without even adding any throttle.

Always funny watching sport bikes come up to intersection and have to stretch their backs, arms and legs. Riding with legs behind you just looks painful. One point you missed is insurance. My insurance provider called and said we cut your rates in half as Harley riders are the safest on the road. Asked the provider how they are going to make up for the price reduction, they said we doubled sport bikes rates…..

Uhh, if you don't crash, why would they need to make it up anywhere else? They'd be raking in easy money every year already since they don't have to pay for any claims. 🤔 Obligatory "insurance is a scam"

20 years ago if you wanted a performance based machine you really had no choice but a dedicated sport bike. Nowadays the standard/naked category has gotten so good I don't see a need for them unless you want a track machine. Also the sport touring segment is gotten much better with the advent of the XR, Multistrada, Super Duke GT, etc.

I daily a 24 S1KRR. It is the most comfortable supersport that I have ever ridden. Coming from an MT09 and XSR900 though makes me agree with you. My wrists hurt and I am 6 foot 3 so I feel like a grasshopper riding a tricycle. 4/10 would not recommend. But, being able to comfortably do 190+ makes my pp go waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I ride an MT09, I love the bike to commute through california traffic. But I do wish I could have a bit more cargo capacity other than a backpack. I looked into sport adventure bikes, but I love the triple cylinder engine. The Tracer 9 GT is a bit too big for me for a daily commute, I checked out the Triumph Tiger Sport 660, it is not too big, actually a great size, but I feel like I would feel like it lacks too much power coming from an MT09, If they made the Triumph Tiger Sport with the 765 engine, that would be THE BIKE! Perfect mid size for daily commute and some long day rides with friends. I keep checking bike news daily to see if Triumph is finally updating it.

The best daily in my honest opinion is a 2012+ WR450F. Even on knobbies it’s a blast. Is an Africa twin more comfortable? Absolutely, but the WR is so much fun and perfect for small commutes to and from work. Throw in a few wheelies here and there and you’ll never regret getting one.

If a cbr300 is a sports bike, technically it is, you should have no problem comfortably riding in traffic or around town and even highway speeds easily. Paired with a helmet box you should be able to take care of all of your grocery shopping if you're a bachelor and it does 71 miles to the gallon.... and you can find them all day under 3000 dollars. Very convenient and saves a ton on gas. Basically, pays itself off in 2 years so long as you're ridding it for all possible errands.

I said goodbye to sportbikes before I hit 40. As I aged I cared less and less about the performance and more about comfort. At 64 my daily is a KTM SMCR. It's not as comfortable as a Vespa GTS but it's comfortable enough for rides under two hours. It doesn't care how big the potholes get and it's a lot of fun at legal speeds.
