This Headley fellow on something... Why he keep calling CJGJ a damn nickel?!?! The man's a SAFETY!!!
@cpgmNFLDraft10 ай бұрын
Force of habit. CJGJ played the vast majority of his snaps at slot corner (nickel), then in the box and free safety as a distant third while in New Orleans. To your point, he played the majority of the snaps at free safety in Philly (2022) but roughly 50% of his snaps were still in the slot/box.

But what about that 10%? He's our LB1, we didn't want to chance it.

left after the first round, dumb mock there is no way we are taking another edge in the first after taking nolan smith last year who didnt get enough snaps and signing huff this year
@cpgmNFLDraft10 ай бұрын
Thinking you're looking at it the wrong way. Robinson is 285... and played between 290-295 at Mizzou most of his career. He can play edge but he's going to play on the down line with Carter and Davis in this instance.

I got at 22. Terrian arnold 50. Trey benson running back he was availible had to grab him lol 53 brandon dorlus Edge 120 jaylon ford Line backer 161 Tykee smith Safety 171 Jared Wiley Tight End 172 nehemiah pritchet c.b. 210 Sataoa Laumea O.G. What yall think
@cpgmNFLDraft10 ай бұрын
Arnold at 22 is perfect. Not sure he'll be available this late unless there is a run on WR early. Think RB at 50 is a bit early even if Benson is your RB1, but given Barkley's injury history you could be onto something. LOVE Dorlus at 53. He's one of our favorite players in the class. A Top 30 player for us outside the Top 50 is stealing. We're not big fans of Ford's run defense. He excels in coverage and could be a nickel/dime backer. Just don't trust him on early downs as this juncture. Would lean towards... Cedric Gray, Tommy Eichenberg types assuming Cooper, Colson, Wilson and Trotter are off the board. If not for CGJ would like the Tykee pick even more. They both are more nickel/safety. At this point in the draft hard to argue with this pick. Wiley is an intriguing pass catcher and a value at 171 as is Nehemiah Pritchett at 172 (those Auburn DBs are pretty impressive.) Laumea this late is unfair. Good stuff! A little too rich for our blood at RB and would opt for a different LB but this is a nice draft class.

TE - 2 is a sneaky underrated need. Expect a double dip at OL. They NEVER will allow the talent pool to dip there.
@cpgmNFLDraft10 ай бұрын
When do you think the double up occurs. We'd assume it would include as tackle to succeed Lane.

With 2 starting CBs over 30 it’s hard not to pick a CB in their first 3 picks. What do you not like about CB Cooper Dejean? Trading back could be really smart but only if you love a CB later like Melton from Rutgers or TJ or a lineman like that big tackle from Utah. Would love to get LB Cooper but is he that much better than Colson? Could back are 3 for next year or as another lineman.
@cpgmNFLDraft10 ай бұрын
Viewed Dejean as more safety/nickel than boundary corner but over thought it considering Fangio's scheme would likely be a good fit. We were split on Robinson/Kool-Aid but majority wins. Think Melton could very well be drafted where we took Nubin. Cooper is our top linebacker, perhaps there isnt a seismic difference between he and Colson but enough to warrant the trade up in our eyes. To your point, think the Eagles address oline (depth) earlier. Headley was lobbying for Puni but we opted for Rice.
@marinasands431910 ай бұрын
A little early to take Robinson as a DT. Cooper great pick to start at OLB. Nubin backup slow safety. Melton 8th on the CB depth chart.
@cpgmNFLDraft10 ай бұрын
Question is, Sydney Brown ready Week 1? Think Nubin may come at a discount considered he didn't test great but for what it's worth Brian Dawkins ran 4.6. One of, or both Slay and Bradberry could be gone in 2025 and Ricks will be an RFA. We'd wager Melton forces his way onto the field as a rookie.
@marinasands431910 ай бұрын
I would take that wager. He would be behind Slay, Rodgers who was the 5th best CB in the league when he was suspended and Hall who was one of the best Slot CB's last year. Then behind Ringo ' Ricks and Bradberry as backups. CJ is the starter opposite Reed and Brown is a backup@@cpgmNFLDraft

Only way we are taking an edge is if it’s Laitu Latu. Robinson is not a good enough edge to take over a Guard/Tackle or CB. That’s a fact. To not take Cooper is INSANE to be. Dude would be the 2nd best CB in the draft if he ran at the combine.
@cpgmNFLDraft10 ай бұрын
Think we over-thought Dejean as we view him more as a safety, generally. But he's a good fit for Fangio's scheme on the boundary. In terms of Robinson, you might argue value but we're not deploying him as a stand up edge rusher. He's going to play 4i/5-tech on the downline with Davis and Carter. He played most of his career at Mizzou as an interior defensive linemen around 295 lbs. It was only this last season he played edge predominantly. He provides a lot of flexibility up front.

Absolutely plausible. We like Washington but with so many WRs with a Day 1/2 grade it would be a shame not to get one. But certainly the priority is the defensive side of the ball.
