7 RULES - OFF THE BALL MOVEMENT. In this episode I will cover 7 tips about off the ball movement in soccer/football. It is one of the fundamental things to understand in this sport. It is never too late to master basic concepts in football. Coaches like Guardiola and Klopp work with their players on basic things all the time and that is the part of their success.

- Overall aspects of the video! - Total game time: 90 minutes ~ on the ball time: 1 minute 1. Always stay in the ‘blind zone’ -make sure he or she can see you or your teammate at the same time 2. Stay between defenders -doesn’t know which one goes to you -gives you time to have space to pass, etc. 3. Stay as far as possible from your teammate with the ball -easier to make goals etc 4. Receive as late as possible -easier to confuse defender, etc 5. Check your shoulder -check for free space and or defenders -helps to know if you have to pass back or not 6. Watch your opponents faces -stay in blind zone: checks time to time -may move to the possible lane -just look to see if you can move or not 7. Watch the opponents body position -if they are slower, then you are usually standing frontwards - stand sideways to be faster

This is actually an incredible video and I love the effort. The fact this is only watched 75k times whereas many skill moves and so forth are in the millions is a symptom of people not understanding what football is about. As you said, it is 99% knowing where to be and when to be there. This is why De Bruyne and Müller are such great players. They may look a little stiff, but their positioning and vision are great, they are smart players and they have good technique. It is also the success behind Barcelona type and Dutch football, all about off the ball movement. Often rehearsed movement even! Just looked through your channel and saw awesome content, this is what football should be about. I subbed! You even have Dutch subs, wow.

Thanks for the lessons. I’m learning something new everyday on YT soccer. I like yr tips #4,5&6. I learn the first basic step online how to kick the ball in 2016 and everything else on yt. I don’t say that to my team mates bc they all went through trainings in many academies (just don’t want they feel they’d spent more money than me in this game). They chose me to play forward.😊

I have a problem which keeps reoccurring in that I will move into space and it takes a long time for my teammate on the ball to notice my movement and I'm standing in free space for ages and by the time my teammate has played the ball I am already being closed down. Any advice?

Try starting your movement only after eye contact with your teammate. :)
