btw the bells originate from the Touhou Soundfont, its the Church Bells patch also for the chords, you can move some of the notes of them up an octave to keep them having a similar vibe but without the massive pitch jump

"simple doesn't mean bad" is something that a lot of newer producers don't recognize and it takes a lot of the weight off your shoulders. a lot of producers who are like insane at music theory even, much of their music theory that happens from their songs isn't even from them consciously thinking it, just them placing things off vibes. music theory is a resource, not a necessity, and you don't need it to make great stuff ^^

the descending bass thing actually has a name in music theory, its called a "line cliché". typically it uses the same base chord with one moving note to change the context, but i personally think the chords can change a bit and keep the same effect.

Hey so it seems like your a good composer and all, but just make your own shit instead of trying to copy someone.
@sobanoodles42868 ай бұрын
yes but also it can be helpful to know some of the ways that someone who's music you like makes their music, that way if you want, you can add some of those bits to your own style besides, several of these aren't really DM specific, its just something he does it's more of a study then trying to blatantly copy, like when people try and figure out some of the ways that Toby Fox's style is done because its good to learn from styles you like

learning from the greats is the first step in developing your own sense of style, technique, and greatness. no art is 100% original, and standing on the shoulders of giants is how we grow taller and build higher. the hostility is not needed, keep it to yourself.
