I agree but where to find these ideal shoes? Heels are either too high or too chunky. Quality shoes are rare to find, evem with brands that stand for quality you get synthentic. I love shoes, the classic style, I also like them in colour.

It’s cumulative. Wear heels sparingly, and only at a height that doesn’t cause discomfort or pinch your toes. There is no need to give them up completely. That is what I did. At 74, my feet are not deformed.

I wear American size 8 in an E width. I have always* had very wide feet - thanks Daddy! In addition, I am (and have always been) completely flat footed. As a child I had excessive rotation on my feet, and I could turn my feet past 90° with my heels together. As a child, I wore shoes with steel shanks, orthotics, etc. As an adult, I am forced to say heck elegance! I look for wide widths that accommodate my high instep, and allow me to put in orthotics. I look for classic lines and colors, and wear nothing higher than 2" heels, and those only for very* special occasions. I'm grateful to be able to walk, and to heck with fashionable elegance!

@Cherrysmith2809 They are on opposite sides of the foot, but not mutually exclusive. My mom has a high instep, and my dad had very wide, flat feet. I got the best of both. 🙄

The problem in the U.S. is that the shoe market is flooded by synthetic Chinese inventory. Often too narrow for American fits. Also, the video suggests that elegance is achieved mostly by high heels. High heels are the cause of foot, ankle, back and posture problems. How about comfortable elegance?

This video is for women who have no back or foot problems and for women who have average shoe size that is easy to find. I have narrow flat almost skeleton feet and can only wear lace up sneakers or Mary Jane styles that strap close to the ankles (not the ones where the strap is away from the ankle). When suggesting 3” heals, the shoes were much higher. I saw mostly very high heals the length of the video. Silly

I have to disagree with the comments about highly decorated shoes. Its sometimes the shoes that are the focus not the clothing when emphasising the shoes wear plain slacks or skirts.

Shoes are the punctuation of an outfit, most of the time periods are normal. However if you are quirky question marks or exclamation marks are fun. Never sacrifice proper fit, they never should hurt. Many a shoe called me but few made it to my wardrobe.

A woman walking in high heels may look elegant on the runway- in real life? Not so much. I‘ve watched countless women staggering on high heels trying to keep their balance. Not a good look. Besides, I want to have healthy feet as I get older, so it’s sneakers and flats for me!
