Sis I struggled with this too for the longest time! The Lord is so kind in His correction and desire for your good. I started by doing an extended Daniel Fast, he gave me so much grace to focus on Him while eating only grains fruits and veg, then moved on to liquids (herbal tea, cranberry juice) now water fasting. It’s been a long process but so many things have broken off of me and my mindset has shifted massively I feel clean and my desire for food is purely to fuel my body now! I was delivered from bondage in weed and nicotine through a message the Holy Spirit put into one of my sister’s heart. I immediately felt the need to fast. This was the second time I had fallen into this sin and I was feeling so ashamed to come to God and ask him to deliver me from it once again. He reached me through this platform during the weekend. Fasting is so important and I wish it were talked about more in the churches. As a Catholic, the only fast that I’ve seen my fellow brothers and sisters commit to is not eating meat on Friday’s during Lent. Which is beautiful that the community gets together and agrees upon a fast, but spiritual growth and the in depths of spirituality need to be taught more just as you’re doing. @@Jerrymc1975 How am I Catholic, you ask. Do I pray to Jesus and/or Mary, they ask. The only one I’m entrusting with my prayers to receive them is Jesus. He’s the only one with the power to do anything about them. What the world doesn’t get, which I don’t understand, is that we don’t pray to Mary, or Angels, or the Saints. We ask them to pray for us, just as I would pray for you or ask you to pray for me when I am in tough situations. How come it’s not idolatry when I ask man for help to pray for me, but then it’s egotistical/prideful for anyone to assume that asking a child of God who has simply done their time on Earth and now is with the Lord to pray for us is idolatry. This is my problem with spirituality, everyone thinks similarly and has that deep understanding but without religion you lose people along the way because there is no wedding band or commitment to engage with other members of Christ. Religion without spirituality is just dead. Why does everyone keep separating all of God’s plans to keep us in unison. This is ultimately what makes us Christians weaker is jumping to random and obsolete points to bring them down, when really it’s not truth. If you look at all my comments, I’ve never mentioned anyone other than the Trinity and asked for them to be praised. Mary doesn’t deserve our praise as in she was not our sacrifice making her not our Savior. I’m glad she was the virgin mother she was, and the role she played in Jesus’ life, but she will not be the one to clean me when I am dirty. The angels cannot forgive me of my sin. And the other saints and men are equal, what power could they have to free me from the grip of death. I have a sense that you don’t really care about the question you’re asking though and are just looking for a response.

I see where your coming from, it’s just when I’ve read the Bible it doesn’t put Mary on such a high pedestal like Catholics do. I do agree that Christians all around the world have different opinions on things, and it has made us weaker as a whole. I’m at work today and there’s a snacks stand. I wanted to go Buy a cupcake but I instantly thought of the Devil tempting me . Almost like as if the devil wants to feed me. Not today. The devil will not win this. This is first day fasting. Yesterday while at work an employee called me over for pizza while I was working. I ate the pizza . Yes, its so true what you are saying about spiritual warfare when you are fasting and the family members. One time I was lead to fast like a month or 2 ago, and my mom who is a believer as well was giving me muffins. I told her I am fasting and she said, its just a muffin and I was shocked and ignored her. I was like the enemy is using her in that moment and I kept on my diligent path.

Fasted yesterday for the first time for the Lord and was very weak and had a migraine as well as nausea and vomiting hunger was NOT the issue , I really had a hard time so felt like I needed to eat to be able to work but yes I’m still fasting from KZbin shorts and regular music . I keep feeling a presence sitting on my bed every night and when I wake up it literally gets up off the bed and walks away. I can't see it but it. But. The bed literally lifts up and squeaks as soon as I open my eyes. I know I'm not hallucinating. One time I felt the presence right over me. I'm surprised no one has mentioned it, but Isaiah chapter 58 reveals The Most High's thoughts on fasting. Matthew 6:16-18 is a good start... Matthew 4:1-11 reveals what Christ experienced before, during, and after His fast.

I recently for the past few weeks have gotten hooked on sugar and became addicted to eating it so much I’ve gained weight in my stomach and face as well as breaking out with more pores and blackheads, redness on my face. I had to be honest with myself and realized I have became an addict of it. I’m fasting for spiritual reasons of course but also to sober from processed/refined sugar to heal my body and get back onto the righteous path of eating healthy and nutritious food. Pray for me brother it has been a real struggle. Haven’t gone past 45 hours of fasting. Going for at least 5 days or however long my body can go. I want to cleanse my temple

Fasting is difficult I use to fast as a younger child but it left me very drained and weak to the point where I was physically sick but it didn't matter it was fasting or nothing it was really hard for me and I was a much smaller girl I was tiny not even 130 pounds on a regular day, now as a grown woman I'm stronger and more aware of how fasting can make you stronger in faith and in your personal health so just be mindful of the consequences and benefits of fasting do it for the right reasons not because you're being forced to do it 💜
