It's ultra hard mode when you are depressed, have a crush on a foreign exchange student AND try to flirt. That's how my first crush went. edit: we were also kinda total opposites. They're really tall and athletic, and don't need glasses. Most often this site has its list spot on but feels like the symptoms are too common and almost everyone goes through that. Hmmm, 1. Yes when I like a person. Even if my job is socializing with others when it has to do with trusting my emotions to feel a desire for them than it's a different ballgame. 2. When I like a person this is a totally 100% Yes, because in my mind it's only time till they'll want to leave if not find someone better. 3. This has nothing to do with if a person has depression or not. People are not objects to be seen like that. you can have it or not and still like them. 4. Yes. Sadly I've had too many failures that it now feels way to dramatic for me to not get overly emotional involved. Like tasting water again when only drinking coffee. Even when a close intimate friend. 5. Anyone can be a failure at flirting. Ladies aren't the easiest to please. 6. You know, this is more based on how the person was raised, what was customary at home for them growing up. Someone with depression can do this or even a person who doesn't like you can do this to you.

Eye contact is my achilles heel and something I wished a parental figure would’ve trained in my childhood. For me it’s an intimate issue more than a communication one because I have no trouble maintaining eye contact with colleagues or strangers I have no emotional investments. When it comes to close friends, girls who I sense has some interest with me/I’m interested in or even family members when they want to discuss something serious involving me, I just can’t make eye contact. I believe it’s because depressed and anxious people have a heightened sense of self awareness and they are well aware of their flaws which might be exposed to others. Making eye contact pretty much takes your focus away from yourself to examine another person which is another way of saying, letting your guard down and that’s not something that can or will easily(if ever) happen to a depressed person.

I'm just now taking steps towards getting diagnosed and in my entire 23 years on this planet... The best relationships I've had with people have also claimed to believe they're Autistic or have ADHD and that's just been in the past year. You just need to search for other people like yourself and trust me tons of Aspies are out there. Although, I wouldn't recommend dating someone with ADHD...
