This is a helpful video! I would only say that number 7 (confidence) would be great to have right out of the gate, but I think it builds over time. I never had full confidence when starting a new position, it came to me gradually.

A lot of these points don’t necessarily apply to me, BUT I am very determined to become a good healthcare provider... and I feel like developing these traits would be extremely beneficial to me in the long run with my overall quality of life and health. Would that be considered acceptable? I’ve always been an inside person who’s relatively unsympathetic but with the right education I do truly believe this is something I want to do.

I think I want to be a nurse and I want to learn and act like a nurse because they are awesome. At first I want to be a Phyciatrist but I do not want to focus on complicated stuffs in detail. I want to learn everything! I want to be smart as a nurse, Chill like a nurse and cool like a nurse. I want to help patients in pain and dumb doctors who think they are the best. But my teacher told me once that nursing is lame. He recomend me to go higher (Maybe because he saw how extraordinary I am) . Now I don't know what to decide.

Most things in nursing are automated and once you pass the necessary math classes you will do fine as a nurse. Depending on your specialty you may never have to calculate drip count

If you want to be an RN, to for it! I'm an RN and even I don't see myself in all these categories but if you have a drive to succeed you can do it! Work as an aid first, it will surely give you an idea of patient care And the foundation of talking to and caring for people

My name is Aaron: I'm a male Medical Assistant and my field is dominated by women. I've been out of a job since the beginning of April of this year. I have had some interviews but the statistics have been low. Is there a way to overcome what may be sex discrimination when going through the interview process? I know that companies can't discriminate. I have had no offers but part of me wonders whether companies won't hire me because I'm a male or whether they narrowed me down based on the interview, and to avoid showing discrimination say that they found better candidates or have used the tactful response that they have moved forward with other people in the interview process.

Hi ironically my name is the same as yours lol but I’ve had a friend who went through the same struggle as you. The key is to keep applying and network the best you can. Don’t worry about the numbers, go beyond what they’ve asked you and look into all areas where a demand of a nurse would be required. While my friend couldn’t get hired in an hospital originally, he found work in a retirement home. He went beyond the call of duty to prove himself and therefore got great references and networks. There are many demands of nursing, you just need to adapt, network and have confidence in yourself that you ll be able to do what is required and go beyond. I’m sure after 2 Years you are doing well but if not, have faith and don’t stress, you ll become a success in the medical field. It just takes the right moment but keep the energy going and you ll land where you want to be.
