I have never been a 7" collector, but I have to say that these are incredible. I suddenly want to collect them, especially The Cure.

Never seen that Cure (or indeed the Ultravox) since I bought it when it came out. I think you might need to get on discogs UK or get lucky. They are like a promo type thing so not that many about, cheers 👍

Great to see your collection of double-packs. I don't recall these kinds of double-packs sold in the US back in the day so it's fun to see what was put out in the UK.

Yes it appears these were done mostly in the UK but back in the day when I was young, picture sleeves for 45s were quite hit n miss. For some records you were lucky you even got one! Cheers RM 👍

One of the jewels of my Cure collection, I now need to collect most of their albums and all the other singles 🤣. I got that one way back as a youngster as I liked The Forest (and I suspect it was in a bargain bin). Only saw them once live on The Head Tour in 85, wasn't a fan back then but glad I did.

I see only the serious VC channels are having a go at this 😉. Ok so we've all got the Japan double, but I have evidence attached that I got mine for a £1 🤣. Ok so I never actually saw them live but of all of us that have got it, maybe I'm the only one to have physically been to Japan 😁. I bet you haven't got the 'double' Ultravox, I may be wrong, too busy collecting Numans Cars I bet. But my apologies showing the double Tubeway army, if I see another one I'll nab it for you ok 👍

Thanks for doing a response Stevie, I have that Ultravox single but not as a double pack. I quite fancy getting Mad Eyed Screamer which I always preferred to Right Now, probably their biggest hit. It reminds me of when I used to go to the local roller disco of all places.

I love that UVox and I think its true that Island did try and cash in alot on the success of the later line up. In hindsight, if the creatures had done all their singles as double packs I think they would have been highly collectable now. I remember a couple of visits to the roller disco but I'm pretty sure they never played the Creatures 😂.

Well I think you don't actually need 10 (or ones not shown) and I guess its getting in early, but I think I managed three that hadn't already been shown. Be interesting to see if anyone else has those. haven't seen any U2 yet so if you want to have a go it'd be good to see them. I did have a quick scroll of your U2 vid and I had that Real thing remixes, will give it a watch later. Cheers 👍

Some interesting double packs here Stevie. Absolutely spot on remark from you saying OMD should have got Peter Saville back for that rather humdrum sleeve, but unsurprisingly I’m a big old mark for PS regardless… even the crap WFTSC album sleeve and his (or his company’s with minimal input from him) Suede work which isn’t bad but feels too different to what I expect from him. That one hour record fair vid sounds like a good Sunday afternoon treat for me. I think the trick is to just shoot stuff whilst you’re there and not try and go live at the time…

Worry not Jimmy, the record fair is in the pipeline, lots to flick through. I am not sure there would be enough signal to go live (unless it was Leeds record fair style video ; ). I was going to rush it on, but as the double pack video has got a few views i'll let than run. Expect it with be with us by early Saturday morn. I think at least half of these are from the last 2 or 3 years after getting back into buying more vinyl. However I have not seen the Ultravox or Cure again since buying them originally years and years ago so i think they are genuinely rare, cheers
