Jimin is one of the two main dancers in BTS; J-Hope is the other main dancer. I got into BTS BECAUSE of Jimin's dance. The first performance I saw was Jimin's live performance of "LIE" and I had to know who he was. BOOM, BTS rabbit hole. Jimin's dancing and vocals set me on edge every time! So happy you saw this live performance. It is pre-recorded because he is in the military. But it is a live performance.

So happy you watched the Jimmy Fallon performance since it's a live performance. There is a backing track since Jimin can't sing all the parts. But Jimin picks the parts he sings when there's two parts. He lets the backing track play during the harder dance parts, and you can hear him come in. You can hear his breath. Jimin and J-Hope are the main dancers, which is higher than the lead dancer position. Yes, they are all hard workers, but all the members joke that Jimin is the one who wants another take till he feels it's right. His behind the scenes shows how much of a perfectionist he is because he wants to give the best performance he can. We look at it and think it's good, but he keeps tweaking it till he's satisfied. Suga said to Jimin, "If hard work is a talent, then you are a genius" Looking forward to Jin next💜💜💜

9:00 This performance was live-to-tape, because it was filmed months ago before he had to enter the military, in anticipation of this album release window. As you pointed out, you can hear his breath & other artifacts from the live mic. As with most dance-heavy solo performances, Jimin uses a backing track to carry the vocals when he's executing complex/athletic choreography sequences, but also for the highest notes in his range (e.g. "we still haven't found hello"). It seems clear that his ridiculously high level of dance is incompatible with proper breath support for singing live at those sorts of ethereal pitches. Personally, I'm glad that he's willing to rely on the backing track while dancing. Korean Idol music fans have attacked him mercilessly for each & every little voice crack or moment of pitchiness, ignoring the fact that it's literally his job within the group to dance hard & spectacularly while singing in the highest part of a tenor's range (all while lacking as much formal vocal instruction as the other members). Jimin has spent far too long worrying that his live vocals aren't, "good enough," while he's dancing, which is absurd & led him into vocal strain & damage territory. Even MJ & Prince didn't try to carry the melody line while doing difficult choreo live - there's a reason why it's called a, "dance break."

✨The difference with Jimin, is that he writes his own lyrics, composes, & involved with producing all his songs, which sets him apart, from many other artists, who are given the already created song, to do the vocals & perform. As well as even legendary iconic artists from now & in past who have indeed written or produced songs, but not all the other things Jimin has also been hands on with, like even creating his own choreography for “Who”’, as well as so much more behind the scenes! This is aside from Jimin’s spectacular breathtaking vocal abilities, & equally on another level, mesmerizingly stunning dancing, Jimin also, unlike other artists, even created his own choreography! Jimin is credited to have written lyrics & composed 6/7 songs from his 2nd, already successful, record breaking album MUSE, which indeed he also did for his equally successful, still charting 1st album FACE. Jimin is also credited with producing some of his songs. Like his song “Rebirth” that he’s so impressively also credited as lyricist & composer, aside from having credit as one of the producers. Jimin is credited producing, with the exception of a couple of songs. Even on Jimin’s previous FACE album, though Jimin wasn’t credited producing, aside from Jimin composing most melodies, & pretty much writing all the lyrics, he indeed was involved, participating, as shown in Jimin’s FACE production documentary. Even though not credited for song “Who” from his MUSE album, Jimin is always hands on, coming up with the concept of the song, what he wanted the lyrics to be about & mean. The concept, storyline & look & feel of MV was also Jimin’s vision, his idea. Jimin even was the one who did the choreography! “Who”, is the title track which indeed MV of which does always get released the same time as album officially drops! The look of the MV, the concept, as well as the staging & placement of the dancing in the MV, as well as the filming Jimin also oversaw! It’s amazing the so many things Jimin worked on, so many places Jimin went, all that he did non stop, including filming in the abandoned unused resort in Korea, where the Jimmy Fallon Tonight show performance, was filmed, that closed in 2022, that had housed now abandoned swimming pools, not in use anymore. Which is where Jimin went to film the live performance. Jimin’s vocals live, which you can tell, are always even more amazing, since still able to do so with all that equally amazing dancing such with such strenuous choreo. As well as equally amazing during the Live Clip for both his songs from his Muse Album 🔥❣Jimin ‘Rebirth + Slow Dance (feat.Sofia Carson)’ Live Clip, (CC on for English subs)., which I hope you also get a chance to react to! JIMIN also flew to Hungary, only for a couple of days just to film the “Who” MV, which he also created and oversaw the choreography for, all , more recently, just months before going into the military, end of last yr. and nobody new about it, all for around a couple of yrs. Only time we all heard anything is when ppl he worked with, like the famous producers in LA as well as in NY, posted photos or just comments praising Jimin, while working alongside of him, mentioning as well being so excited about the project they were working on. Not to mention just how diverse, all the different genres , styles of music, like 🔥❣️“Be Mine” with amazing, ever so seductive, tantalizing, Afro beat, with Latin feel mixed in! Another I urge you to react to! Or “Rebirth”which is R&B, with gospel feel, along with choir in background. There were even when backup dancers posted things that ppl found, saw, so word somewhat got out. But yet, when finally FACE album came out, even then not a one of those producers were involved with any of those songs in FACE. Now we all know that it was for Jimin’s second album MUSE, all those songs, that all those producers were excited about & referring to. But who would have thought that Jimin was already working on second album as well way back then in 2022. Jimin so impressively & amazingly crammed so much in, trying to get as much content out, all before he left for the military the end of last yr! Sofia Carson was even flown in secretly to Seoul, S. Korea 🇰🇷, to film the Live Clip “Slow Dance” performance but that was also kept a secret til now! Writing lyrics, composing melodies, producing many songs, but if not credited always still participating, also coming up with concepts ideas, for look of MV’s as well as overseeing the filming & directing as well! Jimin even created the choreography for his song “Who”. Jimin also is involved in design of album covers, and choosing concept & look during photoshoots! To work on creating all this music, all this content non stop for almost a couple yrs is beyond mind boggling to think about! Jimin didn't create the choreo for Who. There is a choreographer for this dance. Jimin did have his opinions and thoughts in how to improve it to his style though as he's done with all his solo dances and many of the BTS ones as well

@@marissa1341there is a Jimin MUSE Dance Practice behind. Which I recommend you watch where you’ll see the thought process, all that went into Jimin creating the choreography! Of course he had help, as is always required, since there is also the matter of showing as well as overseeing all the many backup dancers learn the steps. Plus he indeed worked with the other guy in discussing some of the best most preferable moves, but if you watch it is indeed Jimin who is the one, continually offering the best most ideal moves, continually checking the recorded film as he always does to see how the dance looks at any given point before correcting even the most minute details, to make sure all the movements look that much more cleaner and in sync. as well as then moving on to next dance part. If indeed it was someone else’s choreo, it would be that person ultimately in charge. I highly recommend you watch. Also Jimin stated that he did the choreography more then once, first Tim being in Jimin MMM Mini Moni Music with RM, when he mentioned that now that the recording was finished he’s working on making the choreography. Also mentioned in the “Who” Shoot sketch about what he had 8n mind while creating the choreo. Jimin already even had an idea and visualization of what he had in mind before he even started working on the choreography as he himself also stated. Perhaps you either didn’t watch all the behinds and interviews, or didn’t focus on what he actually said at certain points.

This was pre-recorded before he went to the military. I would say this style of live performance that is not shot on a stage became a thing during the pandemic. Since they couldn't have an audience anyway, they started to go crazy with the locations and camera angles. I have seen that with other k-pop groups as well. BTS rented airports and stadiums 😅

JHope was recruited as a dancer and learnt to rap, he is the main dancer and dance leader, in that he took responsibility to manage training the other guys the moves. Then nearly 2 years later Jimin jouned who was also a trained dancer, he is also titled main dancer, he has contemporary training which is more like ballet. Jimin's dancing is a force of nature.

jimin worked alot on his voice. he said he is afraid singing airy like he do on BTS songs wil break his voice and his coach said it too. so he has been learning to sing from the basics an he found a middle way in between his new and old vocal style. so he is still able to sing bts songs and being able to expand his spectrum. idk what that means but you might lol. so this is his newst form of singing more cleaner comfident and powerful than before. i am just so proud of him. he even contemplating if it might be to late for him to change it now but he worked so hard behind the scene.

❣Jimin, growing up, since quite young age, even pre mid school, was always into hip hop & r&b music. Aside from Rain, Taeyang, & BoA, Korean idols, known not just for amazing vocals, but their dance ability, Jimin was also heavily influenced, with other role models, such as Chris Brown, & Usher. So it goes to follow he’d also appreciate other equally well known artists who also were amazing dancers & performers aside from vocal ability. It also goes without saying that Jimin, was indeed heavily influenced by MJ. He even taught Jin to moon dance for Dynamite MV, also Jimin was the one that suggested other MJ moves also for BTS song “Dynamite”. Chris Brown’s choreographer Brian Puspos who Jimin is actually close friend with, both having a mutual love admiration & respect for was the one that did the choreography for “Serendipity”. He even said that Jimin dances his choreo better then he does himself! Jimin has also worked with Puspos who restaged not only a Chris Brown song for Jimin before, but also Drake’s “Own It”. Jimin already at early age of 10, started studying hip hop at the renowned Just Dance Academy, in Busan, city where Jimin’s from, which teaches all the many different styles of hip hop. There is even a post made that shows a performance where young again 11 Jimin in 2007, not only performed already, on right front side of stage, but later on went in front and did a solo. JIMIN also competed, excelling in popping, & isolation moves, winning every competition. JIMIN also since a little boy, trained 8 yrs in various forms of martial arts: Taekwondo (blackbelt), Hapkido, Kendo, & Chinese martial arts. Jimin started at such a young age and trained for 8 yrs various forms of martial arts, even saying, as a young boy, that he wanted to be the best swordsman in the world, so he took up Kendo after watching the anime 'One Piece' and wanting to be like his fav character Zoro.. Even when he was a little boy, whatever Jimin did he had to do it to perfection! He even won many competitions and awards for being best, when it came to competing in martial arts as well! Side Note: When learning Taekwondo, as a little boy, I believe Jimin said that doing the splits was one of the first things required to be able to do. Also did same for contemporary dance. He said that he'd put his legs split, up against the wall for quite long, hrs at a time. This was aside from still attending middle school Jimin, where he was already into all kinds of sports, including & excelling in soccer, being part of soccer team,, but also great at basketball, even joined after school billiards, also excellent at track & field throughout his schooling. Then, while going to Busan Highschool of the Arts, he then also studied & performed contemporary. Media even called Jimin “The rising star of Busan” after seeing Jimin perform on stage during a huge festival. JIMIN also studied, some ballet as well as even traditional Korean dance. But Jimin’s main love was always hip hop. Though he did enjoy dancing contemporary, which Jimin indeed excels at, to this day all his dance movements, have his exquisite body placement, amazing elegant, poised, clean lines, as well as he also always stands, even without dancing, with out-turned feet, his foot positions always end up while dancing in classical out turned foot position, placement that classically trained dancers have, with extensions all the way to his fingertips, even incorporating his eyes, & facial expressions! Jimin found he could express himself even more through contemporary dance. Very few dancers have the ability to dance as many styles of dance as well as have the ability to incorporate all of them, even his gravity defying, martial arts, moves in his dance. Jimin even had an offer to dance overseas, but wanted to sing (something he also loved since 2nd grade), and become an idol so he could do both, to the dismay of one of his dance instructors, who said “The would of dance was going to lose a great artists”! There’s a reason Jimin was not only give the official title of Main Dancer & Lead Vocalist, but has been awarded the prestigious titles for 5 yrs In a row, Best Dancer in Kpop, as well as 6 yrs King of Kpop. Jimin is called Stage Commander for a reason, his stage presence is on another level. Jimin is also called “Rookies Bible” because all rookies look up to him, watching his erformances. over & over, trying to emulate, & learn from his unmatchable, flawless, precise moves. Everyone in modern music was influenced by Michael Jackson so we can stop saying that now. I look back at MJ and he's not such a big deal now that music has evolved. He wasn't the first to moonwalk either, it was Bill Bailey, and it was called backsliding. Music evolves. Dance evolves. Suga said it's flattering to be called the Beatles of the 21st century (or MJ) but they are BTS of the 21st century.

@@denisedellasantina1643 - there is a Jimin MUSE Dance Practice behind. Which I recommend you watch where you’ll see the thought process, all that went into Jimin creating the choreography! Of course he had help, as is always required, since there is also the matter of showing as well as overseeing all the many backup dancers learn the steps. Plus he indeed worked with the other guy in discussing some of the best most preferable moves, but if you watch it is indeed Jimin who is the one, continually offering the best most ideal moves, continually checking the recorded film as he always does to see how the dance looks at any given point before correcting even the most minute details, to make sure all the movements look that much more cleaner and in sync. as well as then moving on to next dance part. If indeed it was someone else’s choreo, it would be that person ultimately in charge. I highly recommend you watch. Also Jimin stated that he did the choreography more then once, first time being in Jimin MMM Mini Moni Music with RM, when he mentioned that now that the recording was finished he’s working on making the choreography. Also mentioned in the “Who” Shoot sketch about what he had in mind while creating the choreo. Jimin already even had an idea and visualization of what he had in mind before he even started working on the choreography as he himself also stated. Perhaps you either didn’t watch all the behinds and interviews, or didn’t focus on what he actually said at certain points. 😔☺️

Jimin was the top of his class at the School of the Arts in contemporary dance. He also learned hip hop dancing for a few years before learning contemporary dance, so he actually has more experience in hip hop than in contemporary dance. Jimin and J-hope are main dancers of BTS. It is Jimin who is the natural dancer! He’s classically trained, dances virtually every genres there is, including contemporary, modern, popping, locking…you name it, he dances it! So in KPop, ‘main’ means the 1st dancer while ‘lead’ means 2nd. In BTS, there are actually 2 main dancers (1st), Jimin and J-Hope and JK is the lead dancer (2nd). There’s a reason they call Jimin the Korean MJ, Korean Chris Brown, King of KPop and best dancer in KPop. I’d go as far as to say he’s one of the best dancers in the world.

Jimin and J-Hope were the trained dancers before they became members of BTS. Jimin is trained in contemporary dance, hip-hop, etc. J-Hope is a Hip-Hop dancer. It was pre-recorded for only Fallon because when the songs dropped Jimin was in the Military. For me, as good as he is, this is the best Jimin has ever sounded. No strain heard at all. He has been working with a vocal coach really for the first time consistently, or so he told Suga.

Jimin is one of the main dancers of BTS 😊 so yes, he is good! About the question you had about the production: it is prerecorded due to them being in the military, but he did sing live while they recorded it. They usually have a back track that is behind them while they sing along when dancing so if they need to breathe for a second, it still sounds seamless in the performance. Also, because it was prerecorded, they may have done multiple takes and took the best one! Hope this info helps 💜

Yes, this was a live performance; you can actually hear him breathing into his mic. There are no effects on his voice; he has backing tracks to give him pause to breath which is industry standard. Jimin is a perfectionist with everything he does, so his performances are always perfection! One vocal expert commented on his surprise he sings as much as he does, given the level of dance that he does. His live performance always look like music videos and this one actually does look very much like the mv for this song.
