This really motivates me to start my own company ! Saving for a truck (First major step for me ) been roofing for 3 years residential! About to complete my 4th year and want to get my license soon thank your for the advice as there is a lot of competition in my area but if I am able to put in the work on the roof and I can put in the work in my mind for the business perspective! I'd love to be just a foreman one day and not have to be in the field so much!

Great video/content! I am a new roofing contractor in southern California. My father-in-law has been a roofer since he came to the USA from Hungary in the 80s. He has trained me in all that he knows in roofing, which, for the most part, is techniques and knowledge from the 80s and early 90s. Since he is retiring soon there is no hope to changing his ways, but I'm itching to do business in 2022 and beyond. Things I'm currently in the process of building that he never had or cared to have: a website, Yelp page, Google business page, Facebook page, Instagram feed, future KZbin channel, etc. Of the above mentioned (and not mentioned) marketing tools, which do you think I should focus on first? second? etc. I am mostly a 1-man show right now, with my wife helping with paperwork in the office, and a newborn baby so my time is very limited!

Find a reputable company where you live, work and learn from someone who is willing to show you everything how it should be done, no waiving deductibles or insurance fraud ext and after about a year if you absorb info like a sponge you will have enough info to start your own. But you have to dedicate yourself to learning the industry cause there are a lot of pitfalls to can fall in.
