IT DOES NOT DRAW VACUUM FROM THE ATMOSPHERE, IT GET VACUUM PRESSURE FROM THE MANIFOLD OR SOMEWHERE ELSE ON THE INTAKE CREATING VACUUM PRESSURE FROM THE PISTONS PULLING AIR IN ON THE INTAKE STROKE OR IN A SUPERCHARGED ENGINE YOU NEED TO GET VACUUM FROM THE FRONT OF THE SUPERCHARGER SINCE YOU HAVE A POSITIVE PRESSURE INDUCTION SYSTEM RATHER THAN A NEGATIVE PRESSURE INDUCTION SYSTEM.

I realise this is old, but have to correct this statement. It does draw atmospheric pressure from the pedal side, as that's how you get the differential pressure. When the pedal is not engaged, both sides are at vacuum pressure, so the force is equal, you need the differential to get the vacuum assist and brake boosting.

I have an interesting problem. my brake assist is great and no issues there but when I sit in the car and try to start the car the very first time (cold start) I have to really press hard on my brake for the ignition switch push start to get enabled for the car to start . However, once I get the car started, the brake works completely fine and when I stop and turn the engine off, I can start it again without applying too much pressure on the brake pedal, but if I leave the vehicle and come back after an hour and then try to start the car again, I have to really press hard on the brakes For the ignition switch to get enabled. At first, I thought my break switch was going bad, but it is not. Can you guide me what the problem could be? I did replace my check valve, but that did not change anything. It seems like I am supposed to have vacuum in the booster, but for some reason, the vacuum escapes after like 30-40mins. I’m not sure what else is supposed to keep the vacuum inside the booster beside the check valve. Please help.

I am having the same issue. Do you happen to have a BMW of some sort? I have a 2010 528i and what you described is exactly what was happening to mine. Now it says the break/stability system malfunctioning. The fox I researched is spacing or replacing ABS break sensors and cleaning damaged rotors.

i bought a new jegs brake booster and master cylinder, i renew all the hoses, drums, and pads with lines, and there is no any leaking, my engine is 4.3 stock with holley sniper 1. I wonder why it happened sometimes, for example i drove about 45 min without any problem, when i wanted to park my car, suddenly i lose a brake and become stiff and immediately i push it again came back to normal. I did all of your test and could not find problems, as i said sometimes it will happen.

Check your manifold vacuum. If you're not getting enough vac it may take a couple pumps to build. Especially after a a period of wide open throttle or heavy acceleration Hope this helps. If your not getting enough vac, check for leaks and ensure carb is dialed in.

It goes back to normal because it builds vac at idle. You can feel that when you first start a vehicle up. They take a few seconds to build vac at idle.

Break pedal is released but still brake is applied slightly what could be the issue This happens randomly and the issue resolves temporarily when pressed brake pedal couple of times

Ford Edge defect 😕 Press the spongy brakes and you hear a sucking or hissing sound. I guess that is the faulty vacuum .

When I press the brake pedal, it is hard and difficult to start the car (on the next day)? but the brake can stop the car normally.... does anyone know the problem?

That sounds like a booster or a check valve. If you want to check the booster, start the car and let it idle for about 30 seconds to a minute until it builds brake pressure (vacume). Then apply the brakes and cut the car off. If your foot moves while the car is off, you have a bad booster and it's leaking somewhere. To test the check valve it's super easy, it's a one-way valve. Blow are in both ways. It should be blocked on one end of the valve, if not, then it's your check valve
