"I don't want to eat the last piece" It is a common Filipino habit to avoid admitting or blame that they've eaten most of the food. If you eat the last piece, it means you eaten most of the food even if it is not.

Hey Devil Dog....I am your fellow US Marine here...who happens to be Pinoy. Just a little correction on your favorite pinoy recipe....it's "paksiw" not paksil.The use of soda bottles is a Philippine thing not a Mindanao thing. I hope to meet you in person when I get a chance for a vacay in the Philippines. Take care, my Brother! OORRAAH and SEMPER FI, MARINE!

I think Filipinos prefer glass bottle over plastic because it's believed that plastic bottles degrade over time, that it will contaminate the product by plastic chemicals from the plastic while the glass bottle doesn't degrade, easily therefore it will not contaminate the contents of the bottle, so Filipinos prefer the glass bottle over plastic bottles, that's what I heard people say, that's the reason why Filipinos prefer glass bottles

Plastics do leach chemicals into soda. Its minute amounts, but caustic sodas make it worse. That's why the push for BPA free plastics for food use in the USA. Also, materials science shows, that glass bottles are capable of sustaining a higher pressure and having stronger carbonation. They also are less permeable to gases under pressure.. Does the bottler actually make it more fizzy tho? Maybe.

In terms of taste and how refreshing it is would prefer the glass bottle but on a budget go plastic. Where I am at in cebu 2L in a glass bottle is P100 but the plastic is depending on where you buy but preferably at 711 or grocery it is in-between P80-90.

Tap water is still drinkable as what the Maynilad/NAWASA has announced. It remains compliant with the water quality standards set by the government and it also meets international safety standards for drinking water. We're just being cautious and health conscious that's why we prefer to buy filtered, purified, distilled, mineral etc.

the main issue is not necessarily the quality of the water after being treated by NAWASA it is the delivery system as the water mains may have leaks that allow contaminants to enter the water supply.

back in the day, when plastic bottles were not a thing in the Philippines, there were distributors that supply bottled soda for the sari-sari stores for each area. When they get sold, the sari sari stores usually add a deposit cost to the bottled glass soda and when you return them you get your deposit back OR you bring your own empty glass bottle of the same brand and give it to the store and buy a new one with no deposit.The stores then return it to the distributors and then to the bottling factory for recycling. thats how it works in our sari sari store before here in northern Luzon.
@EdgarJr.Pillos
@EdgarJr.Pillos 2 ай бұрын
This right here correctly explains the glass bottled industry in the Philippines whether it's softdrinks or beers. It's not the stores that refill and recycle them rather it's still the softdrink or beer company that does it. They just exchange empty glass bottles to the filled one when buying from their distributors.

Regarding the plastic bottle vs glass bottle...if you compare the taste of soda between being stored in plastic bottles and glass bottles...the taste tends to last longer when sodas are stored inside glass bottles compared to plastic bottle....glass bottles are cheaper than plastic bottles; although plastic bottles ranges from 1.5L to 2L....

Pasalubong isn't just practiced when going far away. Essentially, someone goes out, and the people at home may receive a treat when you get back. Of course, if you're traveling far, pasalubong is more of an expectation. But you can bring pasalubong even if you just went to the local mall. When I was little, my mom worked a few blocks away from our house. But she would often bring home bananacue or camotecue because there are stalls on her way home. "Salubong" means "to meet." It celebrates that moment when a loved one reunites with the family.

I feel like the glass soda bottles are not as available in Manila as it did a few years back and that they're more visible in provinces than in the city. At least that's what I notice whenever I go home to Batangas. They can be mostly seen on local stores where you can put in a deposit so you can take the bottle home. You'll get the deposit back when you return the empty bottles or you can return them when you're buying a new one so you don't have to pay a deposit again.

One thing though, after you open the glass bottle, please wipe the opening. there's usually stains that you wanna remove. You ever tried buying a glass soda from a convenience store? In some sari-sari store if you are on the road your glass bottled drink gets pour into a plastic bag and of course they hand you a straw to drink, the store keeps the empty glass bottle to complete a whole set or case for redemption, which is why I take the plastic and I keep on going, but I will drink one or the other.

In our family, the last piece of food is called the "last piece of shame". Growing up, we were taught to be mindful of others who haven't eaten yet or still wants more of the food. hence leaving a piece for them, We avoid eating the last piece to avoid being called 'PG" or "Patay Gutom" 😅. Jokes aside, its our way of showing politeness and consideration.

In glass bottles, it doesn't change much even if its in the case/crate outside at noon in the sun the previous day.

A vlogger is not necessarily a hero; it depends on the vlogger. The mainstream media is still considered number one. Yes, Filipinos love vloggers who promote the Philippines and who support Philippine culture, traditions, and tourist spots. However, if Filipinos become upset with a vlogger, be prepared for simultaneous bashing and negative comments, or your account may face mass reporting. That's why it all depends on the content creator. Vloggers provide good vibes and positive perspectives on life. Being a vlogger can be easily accessible, especially if you have an internet connection, as most people now rely on it. This is also why mainstream media outlets are launching their own channels on KZbin; you can now watch everything online.

Doesn't mean we waste food but instead we show care/concern to the others.. these action shows you care more to others and being thoughful of them that maybe they are more hungry than you or they want more but just shy or was not able to get more awhile ago... So even if you like to eat it, you sacrifice your appetite for others ,making sure someone could eat too .. an action of thoughtfulness,care,sacrifice and love to others...not greediness

Pretty sure there's a Baby face powder in it. 4. Going to parties, fiesta or any kind of celebrations? Remember, most of the Filipino families give you a extra food (Almost like a takeout) before you leave. 5. I don't drink coffee but some Filipino's drink coffee even in hot sunny day.

Yes it's true, here in Luzon, I preferred glass bottle Coke, it feels safety and delicious compare to a plastic bottle soda... Plastic bottle scientifically dirty bcoz of it's micro fiber from the factory... Unlike glass bottle is sterilized before it filled the soda.
