For practicality, I would add a headtorch (although you could muddle through with a bike light) and for comfort a lightweight chair (personal preference). Glad you mentioned the socks - I always have some fluffy hiking socks for exactly the same reason. Happy trails.

Yeah i always just use my bike light if i need a torch, and a chair on a bike I'm intrigued , where you put it ?

Instead of bulky socks I have down booties. Can't be walked in, but since just for sleeping, no problem. Pack away to nothing!

If you're doing this in Australia, a small first aid kit and a compression bandage for snake bites. It's a must was out a couple of weeks ago had to do some on the fly bike repairs that really damaged my finger, and the bleeding would not stop. A couple of spokes of the bike were literally covered in blood. Thankfully had some surgical tape in my first aid kit, and that stopped the problem. O and grats on 1000.

You're right about that, you always have to have an extra socks for sleeping.

Hi Josh, I do the socks, puff jacket and proper waterproof shell. I also carry bite cream, ibuprofen cream (I’m getting old and my knees ache sometimes) antiseptic cream plus first aid kit. The empty bag I get but I don’t have one.

New to the channel but any pointers about where to sleep , then thanks. Live in Surrey , often on the iow and in Somerset… Also, where’s is the best source of all the trails to follow on wahoo (still finding myself gravitating to road ish !!) thanks in advance
