I’m British, so Toons isn’t pronounced like Tunes for me, and the effect doesn’t exist here. Proof it’s just because they’re pronounced the same way. Also, it must have been Tunes because they were competing with Disney’s Merrie Melodies, which were also set to music (aka Melodies or Tunes). People just assume it’s Looney Toons because, well, they’re cartoons (+ the "oo" in Looney).

Fun fact: Snow white originates from a German tale Schneewittchen where the queen says "Spieglein Spieglein an der Wand" which translates to "Mirror mirror on the wall". The Disney version of it for some reason translated it to "magic mirror" , so technically people aren't incorrect if they know or remember it the non-Disney way.

Wouter Burg I think it rhymes in every version? In English it's "on the wall... of them all". In German it's "an der Wand... im ganzen Land", quite literally the same as in Dutch. thlamz does it rhyme in Portuguese? They also used Spieglein, which is a diminutive of Spiegel (mirror), like "little mirror". No idea why. As far as I remember, the mirror was huge, or is that only in Disney?

Therefore, "mirror mirror" is the most correct translation. An English diminutive of mirror would be even better but I don't know if one exists.

The #1 thing that most people get wrong is... "I could care less." It's actually *"I couldn't care less."* The sentence "I could care less" doesn't make any sense as you wouldn't have any reason to say that you do care. And, if you did have reason to say that you do care, you would say "I care," not "I could care less."

some of these are actually because of different adaptations like they mentioned with the Mirror Mirror. In the books its barenstain but in the show it was barentein (Or how ever you spell them.) and also the case with curious George and the "No, I am your father" Is probably more of just a change of words to make better sense of what they are referencing tbh.

The Mr Rogers thing, I’ve never seen that here in Australia, but I imagine “The” neighbourhood. The kids show “Daniel Tiger” sings that same line for the intro, and he says “The neighbourhood” which is why I assume the same.
