Wena Cabros Look up any documentary on shark finning. They cut off their fins and tails while they are still alive, and then just throw them back into the water to sink and die. It is cruel, and unnecessary. Many shark species are endangered or extinct, precisely because of this. What also doesn't help: shark fin has no taste whatsoever. Its an asian folk belief that they will make you live longer or some mumbo jumbo. Sharks are predators, but they are not aggressive towards humans, unless they are rather hungry, or in the rare case they think you're a seal. Sharks are also essential to the ocean ecosystem, which is in turn very essential to the whole world. I wont go into details of algae growth and shark's effect on it, but just know that they do.
