- The eye color of babies from 3 to 18 months old can become darker if the number of melanocytes in their irises increases. Depending on how much more melanin develops, a blue-eyed baby can end up with green, hazel, or brown eyes.
- According to Dr. Ivan Schwab, a clinical spokesman for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, head or eye trauma can result in a condition called heterochromia, which is when a person’s eyes have two different colors.
- The pigments in your iris compress or spread apart, making them darker or lighter, when the size of your pupil changes. Your pupils, in turn, can get bigger or smaller depending on your emotional state.
- There’s a theory in alternative medicine that the color of the irises and the health of the internal organs are connected. It’s called iridology. However, there isn’t a lot of scientific proof backing it up, so it still needs further research.
- When it comes to bringing out certain pigments in your eyes, makeup and clothing can truly work miracles.
- Innovative eye color correcting laser surgery doesn’t come with so much risk. The procedure involves using a laser to destroy melanin cells in the irises, making them appear lighter.

For anyone saying that you’re older than 12 and think it’s already too late, don’t worry there is no age limit to changing your eye color. It just gets harder to change due to the amounts of melanin you accumulate over the years. Melanin is not permanent whatsoever.

Awesome video. But you missed one. People with Dissociative Identity Disorder have the ability to change eye color. A loved one had that and that is how i would know who was out or in front. Her eyes would go from brown to hazel to yellow depending on who was out. Its a strange phenomenon but look it up for yourself if your skeptical. Love the video. Take care.

@@saramcdowell4735 yea. It scared me at first because of the media’s portrayal of DID. But it does have a truly unique aspect to it. When i said the ability to change eye color above it makes it sound like the change was intentional. I don’t think they intend to change the color i think it just happens during a switch. You probably know someone with DID. 1 out of 250 are clinically diagnosed. Then they say 1-100 or so are the real numbers if all were diagnosed. They are the most interesting people you could ever get the privilege of knowing. That is can say for certain.

I have brown eyes i would describe as honey or amber because they reflect light more than the average brown eye & are quick to lighten in sun. I have dark green eyes. So, when I am sad my eye color changes to a mixture of a medium blue and green. When I am happy it goes back to it's normal dark green color with a little bit of a medium yellow in between. When I am angry it goes to dark green with a dark orange in between. I have been testing my own eye color with how my emotions are and saw all the different types of colors that changes with my dark green eyes. It's quite amazing actually when you see it with your own eyes in a mirror. I mean who doesn't look at their eyes sometimes when they are feeling certain emotions?

I have heterochromia, with one blue eye and one brown eye. I hope this doesn't mean that I experienced some kind of trauma as an infant, but I suppose I will never know.
