About Subnautica:
Subnautica is an open world survival game in development by Unknown Worlds Entertainment.
Subnautica allows the player to explore an aquatic alien planet by scuba diving and traveling it, while collecting resources and food to survive. It was released on Steam Early Access on December 16, 2014.
The Xbox release was in August 2016.
The player controls in first-person view the lone survivor of a crashed ship on an aquatic planet.
The main objective of the player is to explore the open world environment and survive the dangers of the planet, while also continuing the story.
Subnautica allows the player to collect resources, construct tools, bases, and submersibles, and interact with the planet's wildlife.
Players must keep themselves adequately hydrated and fed, and must also maintain their oxygen supply while traversing underwater.
They discover remnants of the Precursors, an ancient alien species, that used to live on the planet, massive structures and receive mysterious signals by a strange entity. The development team opted to use the Unity engine rather than Spark, the engine used for the company's previous game, Natural Selection 2.
Subnautica producer Hugh Jeremy justified this decision because of the different demands that the game places on the engine, and "because [the team] does not include people working on Spark, it's not appropriate for Subnautica to use Spark.
By using Unity for Subnautica, Spark can continue to develop in certain directions, while Subnautica develops in others.
To use Spark for Subnautica would be to try and square peg a round hole."
Subnautica was released on Steam Early Access on December 16, 2014.
Subnautica was originally planned to be released on Xbox One on April 1, 2016, but was ultimately delayed by another month.
The next game in the Subnautica universe was announced in early 2022, expected to launch in early access about a year later.

I'd LOVE random temporal events, like a migration of fishes, change of position of leviathans (with or without a warning), maybe a little meteor with resources (maybe to attract players to adventure more into the world), etc. that would make the map or biomes different every new game.

I think this would actually be an amazing idea, as it adds on to the mystery of the game, though i dont want this to happen often because it could be very confusing, and there should be some sort of item you could equip (like a map) to show you where the items and fish are. I think defending a base would become more a nuisance than an actual viability. If its limited to harder modes than that would be something ok to implement. But in my opinion having to halt everything you're doing just to go to a base that is under attack would be an extreme nuisance and grind the games pacing to a halt.

Yeah, like the shark in Raft. Sure it adds an element of difficulty and means you need to keep gathering materials to keep your raft but it also means you can’t just go out and explore without worrying that Chompy is going to eat your raft. And having played Little Dragon’s Cafe absolutely nothing sucks more in an exploration heavy game than finally reaching an area you’ve been trying to get to for days and getting an alert telling you you have to go back to base because your dumbass helpers have decided to goof off.

Weapon could be not firearms, but special devices which take advantage of leviathan weakness, e.g. for a leviathan which lives in dark areas, but still relies on sight you could have a powerful spotlight which would temporarily stun it(of course it would be more effective for small creatures like squids from first Subnautica and for leviathan it would be a few second distraction). And for base attacks you could have something like cloaking which would decrease attacks(aslo game could have Exploration difficulty in which you wouldn't have to worry about something attacking your base while you are exploring) or you could make it like from story about leviathan from first Subnautica, it could follow you to your base(which would basically be you entering a base triggers an attack)

Honestly, I want more player/creature interactions that aren’t just hostility/swimming away. What if the game had more intelligent life that maybe aided the player in some way, or simply came up to the player and bugged you for food or was curious. Also, more fauna based lore. Like the giant skeletons 30x bigger than you. It would also be cool if they added fauna/flora interaction as well. Animals eating plants and each other. Animals migrating to different areas of the map. Or what if when you killed a leviathan, you could visit the area a day later in-game and there was new fauna feasting on the dead leviathan. Things like this would really make the environment feel alive and immersive. Like your actions have real effect on the world around you

@@kobi_ken_obi1369 I agree. Passive defenses would: -Allow you to "Feel" like you have a fortified base that's protected. -Add gameplay of leviathan's attacking bases -Add a unique challenge to quickly building a base in a very hostile area, building defenses before it gets destroyed. I think the 3rd one is really neat because it sort of adds to that awesome feeling of managing to build a base out in the void or something. But instead of just having to create base parts carefully, you'd also need to add defensive structures to deter creatures while you build. They could even make it a passive use of power in the base, so that if you mess up and overload the base without enough power generation the defenses would shut down and leviathans would destroy it. (I mostly added that last bit as a way to compromise wanting to "defend" the base with the fact that....yeah defending it 24/7 would be a huge waste of time.

Ok, some unrelated thoughts: 1: a central base computer which allows the player to view stats on their base, how many pieces it has, how many resources are in it, how the power supply is divided, and which power sources are doing the most. This computer could be added to the command room in below zero (I forget the name) that lets you name the base and change its color. 2. Add incentives for the player to diversify their power sources, for example, longer term eclipses which could render solar useless, or convection to geysers which make them cycle their temperatures, or something else that incentivizes the player to invest in multiple power sources in their base. 3. More open water and deep diving has always, at least to me, brought feelings of navigating a real ocean, as well as greater progression, as getting to dive deeper made my exploration and gathering feel rewarded. 4. A bigger map of course, in order to service point 3 as well as base building. I can always build my base in new places in subnautica, but I rarely feel the desire to do so in below zero, as the center of the map is always the best place to build no matter what, so it is impractical to try new places. A larger map means more spread out resources and destinations, which can incentivize the player to build their base in a location away from the shallows. 5. Either less land content, or a vehicle better then the snow fox, because it is worse then nothing in half of the land section, and is just plain disappointing 6. Bring back Prawn suit grapple arm physics please for the love of god it sucks so bad in below zero 7. They don’t have to bring back the sea truck per say, but extra attachable pieces to vehicles made the sea truck my favorite vehicle in the series bar none, and that idea of customizing the vehicle and making trade offs in how you equip yourself is essential. 8. Bouncing off that last point, equipment should have more trade offs with each other, for example in subnautica 1, the high capacity tank is just better then the lightweight, the charge fins are just better then the ultra glide, and 9/10 times the sea moth is obsolete at the half way point in the game. Have each piece of equipment have a set of distinct advantages and disadvantages in order to give more variety in strategies and choices in how we approach the game 9. Fewer exploitable elements, ones like the self charging cyclops with power cell chargers, thermoblades for fish etc. that trivialize the aspect of planning and preparing. 10. The plot, subnautica had great stakes, lore, and player experience driven moments, but lacked in direction, explanations, memorable characters, and exploration on other sentient life. Below zero fixed the shortcomings of subnautica but casted the worlds least likeable protagonist, no obvious stakes, 2 clashing story lines which sideline each other, and long conversations accompanied by long periods of awkward silence. I think the subnautica 3 protagonist should be a less prevalent voice, or at least be better written with any kind of intelligence, meaningful things to say, or even just be more consistent with the amount they speak. I also think that some of the plot point type story from below zero should stay, but with enough room for player exploration. Lastly the storylines shouldn’t clash, but feed off each other to make the whole more interesting. If you read all of that, why? But thank you anyways Edit: 11. Think back to systems like Minecraft brewing, or starboud cooking, systems that incentivizing collection of many different resources, with the expectation that you can combine those to get interesting buffs or utility. I think that subnautica could easily incorporate this because it already has an underdeveloped farming system. Maybe instead of just kelps, gel sacks, and battery plants, other plants could be useful for special medkits, special foods, or even bait, bait that could be used to distract leviathan class creatures, or maybe a treat to tame certain creatures, I think there is a world of possibilities that can truly reward player exploration. 12. I think subnautica 3 should avoid an obnoxious endgame crafting recipe without foreshadowing, subnautica did this with hatching enzymes, and subnautica below zero did a less offensive but still annoying version with Allan’s body. I think subnautica 3 should have no single odd endgame crafting recipe OR tell the player what to bring to the final destination ahead of time

I'd love to see a new kind of torpedo built to distract leviathans, by getting the leviathans attention and then torpedo would zip away prompting the creature to chase it, after the torpedo went a certain distance away it would implode on itself and give off the same effect that the vortex torpedo gives off. I think it would be amazing for this item to exist to get a leviathan away from an architect base that you need to access for the story. There should be a bigger map with multiple craters that you have to cross the void to get to. While crossing the void there would be huge leviathans that you would need increasingly expensive upgrades to get passed. Each crater should provide a different challenge to the player. For example one crater could be very hard to navigate but not have any leviathans, and another crater could be easy to navigate but be filled to the brim with leviathans. I would also love to see a bigger submarine, with more than one docking bay. I would love for this submarine to be able to dock a cyclops inside of it as well as having a few smaller docking bays for things like the prawn suit and the seamoth. This submarine could be used for crossing over the void in order to get to other craters. Even if the game doesn't have any of these things I would still play it. After all I don't want to put pressure on the devs to make a game they just can't make, and I especially don't want to pressure them in to making a game they don't Want to make.

As much as I would love for there to be a multiplayer in Subnautica, I am not onboard with the idea of adding weapons, clans/guilds/tribes, or any sort of combat system in Subnautica. This game isn't designed for that to be intended and was specifically created to exclude such weaponry which is something that I love about this game. There are plenty of games with combat and weapons and violence but they don't capture the same theme or environment and this game. I believe that Subnautica 3 should at least have the options of playing: solo, duo, and trio so that it can encompass the ideas of the first iteration along with its successor without destroying the environment. Subnautica 1 had a single player with the hopes of other survivors whittling down gradually before any hope of help is literally blasted out of the sky. Now, the second iteration brings us in from an entirely different perspective as it has someone sneaking onto the planet to discover the fate of her sister and uncover what it is that Alterra has been hiding which leads to her co-operation with an alien lifeform and a somewhat less scary environment than its predecessor with its leviathans being cool, but the fearful aspect being dialed back significantly. I would love to see Subnautica 3 bring back that fear element and throw us into a map is bigger than the others but without any do over locations and with extra areas full of easter eggs and surprises that can help us on the way and that we wouldn't have access to by other means such as: special prawn suit upgrades and modules, special vehicles or modifications to the pre-existing vehicles to make them more efficient, larger, faster, stronger, or even able to self operate with some sort of A.I. or autopilot software. I don't mind having to do everything myself, but it would be nice if there was a way of setting and saving a specific course to a location that we could always take like a hyperspace lane out of Star Wars. One thing that I would be remiss not to mention wanting to be added to the game is the Ice Dragon Leviathan. That creature had one of my favorite designs and was cut out of below zero with its biome and I would love to see it in Subnautica 3 even as an unnecessary element or perhaps to guard the way to an easter egg(s). Another interesting thing to add would be more creatures that have ranged abilities that are actually capable of landing at least close to the player, which is something that the Sea Dragon was not very good at doing. The Sea Dragon's favorite hobby was swimming through walls, swimming in a set path around and around in a circle, and only hitting my Cyclops accidentally without doing damage to it, i.e. it was a big letdown and really got done dirty. The Reaper Leviathan is one of the most iconic creatures in the game and had a fully functioning and terrifying ability to drab hold of your Seamoth and crush it like a water bottle and its presence was impossible to miss with its terrifying roars alerting it to your location and you to its existence. The Ghost Leviathan was a really cool idea that I believe was poorly executed in its lack of ability to do anything to the player as it hardly ever posed a real threat and was kind of just there which also goes for the Amp Eels or whatever the giant Electricity circulating eels were. They were glitchy and usually ignored the players existence without so much as harming the players at all even by accident. Overall though, I would love to see the fear factor of Subnautica 1 return even better than before with at least 2 but preferably up to 3 player enabled. Great game! Definitely worth a playthrough.

As I stated before in my opinion the next game should have 1st's map size, scariness and more open spaces with below zero's detail, story, changes and other additions like new resources, plants, food, equipement, base structures and mechanics. It would be nice to go deeper as well, in second game the maximum depth was actually decreased Also a very small thing: for some unknown reason in below zero there are almost no decorative plants that you can plant. The only ones are redwort, violet blau, cave bush and spotted dockleaf. There were some that would look amazing in your base but seeds couldn't be obtained from them In addition I want to mention crafting: I'm not sure how to feel about the changes to some recipes. Are they going to be replaced once again? Are some of them going to have the older recipe back? And is being able to craft vehicle upgrades in the fabricator a good thing? It seems pretty weird to me Lastly, balance. I hope the creatures won't be too annoying, leviathans should scary but ( at least partially ) avoidable and vehicle upgrades can't be too overpowered. For example seatruck's defense module was too op for shadow leviathan, it should have been either nerfed or seatruck could not been able to go this deep Love your content as always! 💚

Some sort of tall underwater spire/ vent that is central in the map and contains a lot of biodiverse organisms (like irl). A life pod in the void. A timetable land creature like a snow stalker (can't bring it into water cause that would make you feel safe). I boss fight type thing.

Multiplayer would be cool but only if its limited to like 2-6 players not really the scale that he talks about. We dont need a lighter prawn suit we have the sea moth. Spire idea is cool for a deep biome, we already have it on a small scale though ( thermal vents) Life pod on the edge of the void would be cooler to maintain the level of mystery by not letting you know if the descent ever ends. More tamable creatures are a great idea, but land would be sorta useless, but under water a stalker style fast creature that allows you to travel quickly early game would be really cool. I dont think a boss fight would be cool kus subnautica isnt about fighting the fauna, its more about studying it and sometimes running away from it.

Large! I think that we should have a deep ocean with floating reefs around. (a few abandoned outposts for story would be cool too) the reefs could have safe zones where as the deep could have floating lights, platforms. and lots of fish with all types of abilities that would randomize aesthetically to keep it interesting, the deeper you go the more dangerous but there would be rare and cool artefacts/materials. tell me your ideas with replies please :)

I completely agree with Aci's first idea. I believe there is not enough fear/terror in below zero, and that is honestly the main reason that I like Subnautica much better. Below Zero is a great game, don't get me wrong, but it's lacking in some parts, and terror is one of them. I'd suggest for this: make the unsafe areas less visible or darker, so you can't see as far/as much. Not only in unsafe areas but even at night time where it's just terrifying to be in that area; especially for newer players who don't know what to expect. Another addition to this could be less music in these areas so it just gives even more terror to the player like you get the feeling something is watching you or something is near you. I also want to add a little bit on the map; the map in Subnautica is bigger and deeper, but Below Zero has many more details. I want the devs to come up with something like those 2, but i'd go for bigger & deeper over details. I absolutely loved having to go through a multitude of biomes to get to the lava zone, like the Lost River and Grand Reef, and I want to see more of stuff like that. Also another thing with the maps, i'd love to see more islands, not LAND, but islands like in the first map. The first map had big islands to discover later on in the game, and the second had an island you'd immediately go to at the start of the game, and of course a lot of land around you. I liked the feel of land near you, but you don't know where it is or if it's even there. There is a lot of land in the second map but they're kind of plain and there is barely a reason to go there unless you're in the late game. I'd also love to see more submarines in the game; like Aci said. Stuff bigger and more to choose from, like maybe sizes from the huge Manta submarine to maybe a Seamoth-sized thing. Not only that, but I love what they did with the Seatruck (You can customize it by adding/removing sections to it etc). Also, I'd like to see some sort of dock for large subs (like the Cyclops), maybe not a dock but something you can use to customize the entire ship and charge the batteries. I think the moonpool is just outdated as it's been in the 2 last games. Thank you for reading my suggestions and I will add onto anything if I have anymore.

I’d be insanely happy if they based the 3rd Subnautica on exploring the ecological dead zone. Things like the angular fish and giant squid. I’d love to see more creatures similar to jellyfish, squid, and sharks such as the goblin shark. About the multiplayer,I had an idea for few years now: You have of course the singleplayer game, one guy surrounded by water, loneliness and stuff... BUT For a multiplayer game, the playing itself would be a bit / a lot different. It wouldn´t be about surviving on your own, knowing you´re alone, but more based around "teamwork makes dreamwork" style - you would need to rely more on your friends. That could also mean that a submarine that would a crew of, let´s say, two or three people could be possible and maybe fun.

I think the major point to increase must be the story-telling also linked to the architects and explorations and experimentations for example you have to create a room in your base where you will have to add a lab for making some chemical reactions in the aim to discover new elements or objects to progress in the story. I mean for me the bases you build when you have your lockers, your energy production and the scanning room, it's not necessary to build others parts because they don't have a real use or only for decoration

You know, now that you say it … I actually really like the idea of a focus on combat? I know a lot of people, myself originally included, would say it’s a bad idea, but I also kinda feel like the series needs to innovate to not just be a reskin? I think a big focus on combat, but where you are still entirely outmatched by the leviathans, would actually make it even MORE scary. Imagine swimming around pitch dark dunes with only a tiny pistol, in no way capable of doing anything to a massive Reaper unless you somehow manage a cleanly aimed shot at its eyes. Always on edge trying to anticipate an attack, to be ready to shoot, but still feeling the dread of just how outclassed you are. A lot of different weapons that work different ways, and interesting combat mechanics, but all while always keeping the player completely outmatched, only ever able to deter, not defeat, against all odds. (And yes, absolutely needs much more darkness and horror together with this)

Maybe one of the means of defense against creature attack could be smell deterrent? Like you go to the leviathans territory and do something to aquire an item with a scent of a leviathan. With that item you can build something like window and extra armor, on your base. That thing with the scent could then deter smaller predators like bonesharks or crabsquids. It wouldnt really work on leviathans so you would have to use other means of defense

Things I think should be added for sure -Creaturs can attack the base Reinforcing your walls is only used for the integrity of it and not actually defending the base. They could add defense systems like shields, missles, turrets and maybe even a repellent depending on the creature attacking your base which you would need a scan of that creature to create the repellent. -More vehicle diversity and different unique vehicles. So for subnautica 3 they should add all vehicles from Subnautica 1 and below zero, and obviously more with inspiration from the modding community. -More things to build that are cheap and have no cause but to amuse a player when bored. In below zero one of the decoration pieces you can create is really cheap and is a futuristic floating version of that thing that has 5 balls and when you put one of the balls to a point and it hits the other balls and it goes back and forth. If they added little things that are cheap and have no point but to amuse the player the game would be a lot more fun and keep players active in the game longer. And the games general life span longer. - Bigger aquatic tanks to hatch bigger creatures When I say “hatch bigger creatures” I’m not talking about leviathan class creatures like the reaper leviathan I mean like a creature that’s not around the size of the player at there biggest. I mean like maybe 2x or 3x the size of the player at most. I also think being able to have a maturing stage for new hatched creature along with a hatching animation, and the ability to have to care for your creature similar to ark survival and how that works and having to take care of a newborn. Feeding them, needing to check on them every once in a while to see if it needs care like a cuddle, a walk or a specific food that it wants. Doing these tasks would vary how much damage that creature would do to other creatures. -Allow mods on console and in the main game (like how snowrunner does mods, literally on the menu screen on every platform) Mods are something a lot of players want, pc players don’t have to worry because it takes like 5 minutes and you can get mods. But console doesn’t get that which does suck. And the current state of mods is kinda shit ngl but obviously it’s something and it has definitely evolved over time. By the time subnautica 3 comes out, the modding community will hopefully be bigger and better and mod makers can make vehicles, buildings etc. with quality similar to in game things. Like there is a mod in the works and has been for years that is basically the cyclops (big submarine) but like 2x the size. Imagine that when it gets finished like damn. I doubt anyone read any of this but hey maybe someone did, or the creator of this video will use these ideas above in another video he does on this topic.🤷🏻‍♂️

Agreed. And the base attacks should be an extension of the attack mechanics against the player. Basically the leviathan isn't after your base, it's after YOU and the walls of your base are just in the way. It'll bite and claw at your base trying to get you, of course damaging the base in the process. To avoid the extreme annoyance of having a leviathan forever outside your base there should be a hidden time limit that after which the creature will get bored and go away back to it's original area. I also think Hull integrity should factor in to how much damage a leviathan attack does to the base.
@almondx1ao
@almondx1ao 2 жыл бұрын
Agreed, and with the base attacks being rare, it also instills that fear of "when will it get attacked next" because Subnautica made leviathans sparse for that fear factor. The game is primarily collecting resources so it'd be annoying to constantly get an alert that your base is getting attacked

Would love to see another walker vehicle, but bigger, something like a walking cyclops. With six legs, because that's cool. Also, i have an idea for a kinda-weapon: the decoy launcher! It would launch projectiles wich attract predators, but the bigger the predator is, the quicker it loses interest. It would be charged with batteries, and every shot would use 10% of power. It would have a little recoil, lets say 7 seconds. Also, an idea for a leviathan! It would be a large, insectoid creature, wich would walk on seafloor in its own dedicated biome: the moving islands. Basiclly, the creature's back would be above water, and on this back there would grow plants. Their biome would look like shallow dunes, mostly sand with a bit of plants, and there would be a lot of small fish swimming around. You could collect specimens or samples of alien flora and fauna and learn how to use them or deter them from attacking you. I find the handheld scanner to be too convenient for all your research needs, it could be used reveal basic properties of whatever you scanned but for advanced research, you need a laboratory to find out more in depth information of the creatures, ores, materials and alien artifacts you would discover in the next game. There could also be that some blueprints require advanced materials that are not revealed yet and would require researching to unlock those advanced materials.

Things I'd like to see: 1) The ability to center base components on foundations. 2) The ability to snap items into locations when adding things to walls with the builder tool, e.g., lockers, chargers, etc. (Can be toggled on and off) 3) Better food items that require multiple farmed/foraged ingredients to fabricate, like a nutrient bar made from multiple plant and fish species (could even be less potent than the ones found in boxes, but better than things found in the wild). That way there's a gameplay reason to have a bunch of grow beds and creature habitats other than aesthetics. 4) More uses for harder to reach resources, or some recipies to require more of them. This would further incentivize exploration to gather them. For instance, the player never needs that much crystalline sulfur or nickel for everything they're in during the first game, but there's plenty to be found in places like the Lost River. I'd like to do more than either hoard them or ignore them.

Im thinking the exact opposite thing, they make subs really expensive (like mid game or later) and so until you need depth upgrades, speed or defence to access a certain area or avoid a leviathan its just better to ride a creature, this would also open up some early game travel methods that just weren't in the previous games and I do agree with the unique abilities thing but they wouldn't be anything too op, like maybe a rock puncher like creature can mine stuff but it takes twice as long as a PRAWN suit.

I would love to see a subnautica game where you have to explore the deepest parts of the ocean, a sort of Mariana Trench part of the world and your main progression through the game is going downwards. I think the story elements of this could be interesting but mostly for the creatures, as you go deeper in the ocean they tend to get bigger and weirder and I think that would be great for subnautica

For me the way I want them to input multiplayer in subnautica is simple. In the first game there were two seats in your lifepod. I always wished we could have someone that came down with you in the lifepod. But only one other person. Make it a two person co op experience. Imagine splitting the controls with a cyclops and having a pilot and an operator that can activate the various systems. Imagine having two prawn suits exploring a deep dark trench, and then one of the suits goes dark and you lose radio contact with them. There are so many possibilities. I feel like the loneliness aspect is also preserved with a two person system. You and one other person are stranded on 4546B, and no one is coming to rescue you. That's my dream for Subnautica. I hope it becomes reality

Depth Glider (submarine) A submarine slightly smaller than a cyclops but fit for the needs of going to the depths this submarine will be highly crush resistant going up to 2000 feet on average but will be highly expensive to make to even things out and will also be equipped with a drill like the prawn suit but its literally a drill on a submarine. Also designed to make as little noise as possible and has much longer battery life than average submarines

Personally I like the idea of Subnautica introducing a native species. Something in a mid-late Stone-age equivilent who've only recently started making their way out into the Ocean after whatever reasons kept them out of O.G. and Below Zero. I think it would be really cool to go all out on the groundwork that Sea Monkeys laid and implement something akin to the Cannibals from The Forest with a collection of native fish people who will start to treat you differently based on how you interact with them. It could be a really fun and creative way to bring more combat-focused elements into the series if they brought non-lethal methods of fighting off a Leviathan attack to the table. You've befriended a tribe, you can trade with them by giving them resources you don't want in exchange for things they have. If your base is attacked by a Reaper some of them might come by and help you ward it off. Natives are always something I hope to see in Subnautica.

I don't know why so many people hate Below Zero, I thought it was awesome! This I wish they'd fix or modify slightly in Part 3... 1) Ladder Placement... The ability to rotate the ladder so you can line it up to not cover exits/entrances. 2) Obviously the ability to rotate the moonpool or whatever new building they use or at the very least allow you to adjust which way the the vehicle faces or exits the bay. 3) With the above, the option to rotate all buildings to not snap according the the direction the the foundation, but total freedom. 4) I did not like the way that every time I got out of the cyclops I was facing the back instead of the front. 5) It would be great to be able to domesticate at least one creature that you could train to do certain things. Maybe just a few tricks for entertainment, Sniffing out certain items, deter or defend against hostile creatures. 6) Add another level of difficulty like underwater currents or tides.' 7) A longer more intricate story line... It is the one thing that I truly liked about Below Zero. Once you know Subnautica, the story can be completed very quickly, whereas Below Zero, there is a lot more that is required to complete it. 8) I would also like the ability to extend or shape rooms, for example, being able to remove walls between intersecting rooms. Like creating an L, T or + shaped room using the Large Room in Below Zero, or any other combination thereof, So basically have the option to keep or remove the hatch between the rooms. This could add another dynamic with regards to the structural strength of the base. 9) Add other dynamic phenomena, like meteor showers, acid rain or typhoons, etc. 10) Maybe even face other friendly or hostile races each with their own agendas that you either need to protect or fight for, but make their actions or reactions dynamic where every playthrough will turn out differently based on how you approach the situation. There is so much that can still be done. That's All I can think of for now, but could go on forever too 😂... It would also be nice to extend on the stories already played. What happened to them after they left the planet? What is life like where they ended up? Do they eventually meet each other or cross paths? This Story could go on indefinitely. There is so much that could happen.

Subnautica 3 DLC idea: Playing as one of the architects during the khaara outbreak. Would be awesome to see what it was like for them. Like a short story about a architect collecting various samples, doing experiments, and defending themselves from leviathans that existed millennia ago. Yeah, one of my big gripes with BZ is the fact that Robin is apparently the only person in this entire sector of the planet (aside from Marguerite) that’s rich with resources and alien life. It doesn’t make sense for a corporation like Alterra to not pour as much manpower as they could into the planet at all times. Unlike 1, BZ’s isolation and lack of infrastructure feels artificial and kind of forced to me. Having a new planet, maybe even one that was also occupied by the architects, would greatly help rectify that problem and add opportunities for new styles of creatures that might not necessarily fit the conventions of 4546b’s life forms. It would also prevent the lore question of how BZ has any life at all with the lack of peepers carrying the enzyme to somewhat sustain the areas life.

Personally I'd love an archipelago map with some sort of massive tide system. When you start the game on a small island / safe shallows, but the water is steadily rising (Tied to story events) which would allow the void leviathans to gain access, so you need to build a big sub to cross the void to a new taller island, but then over time the tide starts to go out and if you stay too long the weather starts to be too damaging due to how exposed you've become. Every bit of shallow land in the archipelago would offer different rewards, but also incentives for a early - mid game player to not stick around for too long. But then a late-game player gets the pleasure of taming the islands by either some Architect tech or simply being strong enough that the effects of the tide really don't bother you any more.

Here’s an idea for a new seamoth upgrade; The Seamoth Scanner Upgrade module, you would combine your scanner with some other materials to create it, some people may be wondering, “Why would we need this?! You can just go out of your seamoth to scan something!” And yes, you can do that, but, i am thinking it could be useful in more dangerous environments like the Lost River or the Dunes, so you don’t have to crap your pants when you get out of your seamoth and see a Reapers face, hope you all like the idea!

Subnautica 3 needs a couple things. 1. Need a big sub that is interactive like the cyclops and has tools to deal with leviathans (not necessarily weapons). Hopefully multiple docking ports. Will bring back a monumental goal and something to work towards for a couple hours. 2. Need a good small sub for those tight caves. Preferably mid-late game one rather than a throwaway early game one like the seamoth. Needs means of surviving an interaction with leviathans, seamoth was basically toast. Maybe a temporary speed boost that can lead to sub damage (like cyclops full throttle) 2. Less on rails experience. The main difference between subnautica and BZ is that you have to go out and find the story in the first, and in the second it was forced down your throat. If I wanted "campaign mode" I'd play something else. 3. More base tools. Complimentary to the base attacks Aci mentioned, Subnautica 3 needs more useful base parts. Building isn't all decorational, there should be more functional items similar to the scanner room. Maybe a base defense room with shield controls or a decoy cannon. 4. Big open water. I love the feeling when I'm near the surface, trying to go to an island or something in Subnautica 1, and I get a PDA message that I'm in a hostile biome. I look down, and it's just completely black. More "terror" and being able to accidentally wander into a place that's going to get you killed. The vast black water is definitely a must. 5. A giant non-submersible ship. It perfectly compliments what I was saying in #4 where you get the don't look down feeling. Maybe one with a shark cage + docking capabilities. Something that might be immune to most threats. This could help to increase the fear factor of the few things big enough to deal some damage. 6. Floating base emphasis. Could harbor your non-submersible ship and decrease the rate of desensitization to the water. You get used to the deep water when you're always down there playing Subnautica, this would be a way to force the player out of getting comfortable with what is intentionally supposed to be uncomfortable. 7. Being hunted. The warpers and their radio messages were absolutely the most underrated horrifying experience. An intelligent (precursor), roaming enemy is much scarier than a static dumb one that is only found in certain spots. Even the "safe spots" will begin to become unsafe as the story progresses. Plus in-story base attack opportunity! 8. The setting needs to again encourage the terror. Maybe this game can take place on a planet more largely populated by precursor. Maybe one of their home planets decimated by the bacterium. It would be a very cool experience being outnumbered and alone on a hostile alien planet. #7 could definitely enhance this experience further. 8. Co-op multiplayer. Subnautica is going to get old fast doing the same thing on repeat with a reskin of the game. It would heavily set it apart from the other 2 and be the best one yet. Massive amount of story opportunity, like you're an alterra team sent in to investigate, or an anti alterra scavenging team that wants the alien loot before alterra can get it's hands on it, which ends up waking up a precursor facility or enemy force. Basically it will just make more sense story wise and feel like less of an accident. Way more in over your head feeling potential. Also potential for co-pilot vehicles like the cyclops seemed to hint at. I doubt anyone's actually going to read half of that but those are my ideas.

What would make sense for Subnautica 3 or just update the current games. Is to add a visual map like in a certain mod, seriously if a mod creator can do it so can the game devs. Also to add more modifications slots to the vehicles and scanner room, 6 slots would do, or maybe just add some upgraded utilities, like a better water filter or Mrk 2 upgrades for storage modifications and scanner room upgrades.

Im a little late to this but the one thing I think they should absolutely add to Subnautica 3 in my opinion should be the hoverfish. Maybe with different colors but still with that cute face even if the body changes a bit. I love both games, but I agree that Below Zero takes away the beloved fear factor. For fauna, I do wish they would add more life forms to the planet. I understand the idea that Karhaa(I don't remember) killed most of the fauna, but what if they develop a storyline that Alterra sends a scientific research team to the planet to explore the history and observe the fauna and flora. Then, somehow (like Cuddlefish eggs) they find specimens or eggs of ancient fauna that they somehow incubate and bring back to life. Then something obviously pulls the scientific team away from 4546B and the new fauna and flora escape into the main waters and many years pass to the point where the planet is flourishing with life. Maybe the story could be to send a person down to the planet because the science team left behind something like... Idk, the cure to cancer or whatever that they found but something big attacked the base which sunk into the darkest depths and now the player has to progress through the story by finding the notes, building something that could broadcast the information back to Alterra HQ, and they are told they have to find a living biological sample of the cure or whatever to send to Alterra to synthesize. But then maybe something like the player has to go and find a vial of whatever, but they can only find fragments, and maybe the only viable sample is found to be too deep for any sub to go and there could be a cut scene that the player gets so close enough to grab it, but some sort of abyssal leviathan (maybe a deep reaper -potential name: Whisper Leviathan) attacks the player and knocks the sample off the sea cliff and the player is helpless to watch it sink into the depths never to be seen again. So now the player has to use the fragments of information of the scientists notes to remake the sample which would require them to research certain very elusive or aggressive fauna/flora and get samples to remake what was lost. That's all I can think of for a main storyline but there could be so many side stories to add to it, like maybe there could be a slight choose your own adventure to the story where the player could choose to leave with the sample and return to Alterra, or stay, and send the sample on its way while maybe starting a civilization on 4546B. I just think it would be so cool and interesting. I love Subnautica so much, and the fear factor and frustration of the game makes me smile because in the end, you know it's worth it. I know this is probably to much of a complicated concept for it, but maybe one day I could see even just a fragment of this idea appear. Anyways, that's my slice of cheese. Excited to see where Subnautica 3 goes. ✌

First, a very large map to help stimulate the sense of exploration. The first game very much accomplished that. You always got the sense that you were going to see something new over the next ridge or over the horizon. Please ignore Aci's comment about foregoing the detail on the landscape. One of the greatest accomplishments of Subnautica is how every location feels carefully considered and designed. Second, biome complexity. I like when I pass through an area that it feels like it has a functional ecosystem. There is clearly plants, heribivores, carnivores, etc. living together and it feels both plausible and alien. The videos people have made trying to figure out the biology and evolution on 4546B is a credit to the work already done. I like it best when the environment feels like a cohesive whole, that it's clear what eats and interacts with what, or how symbiotic relationships work out. Third, play up the sense of wonder. There are so many moments in Subnautica that just inspire awe. The first time I saw a Reefback, the moment I broke through the Kelp Forest and saw the Grassy Plateau for the first time, and of course, seeing the tree in the Lost River. Fourth, no combat please, it's one of the things I love about this game series.

Building on the first point, one thing I think the original Subnautica did really well was make use of the Reaper, and over all the ai was really good. The main thing with the Reaper is, it made you always feel hunted, and that really brought the fear factor up. There's a video about how Subnautica does Terror really well that goes into more detail, but basically, the Reapers roar was not just for show, if you heard the roar, that meant that the Reaper was aware of your presence, and would slowly make its way towards the player. While you had to be much closer to actually agro the Reaper, it gave this feeling of always being stalked or hunted. In fact, many creatures made use of this, acting like actual predatory animals would including ambush predator hunting styles that over all made you constantly paranoid. The other thing was the fact that there was no substantial way to actually fight back, sure you could technically kill every creature in the game, but there was never any reason or prompt to do so, nor any reward for taking the larger creatures down. You were taught from the start of the game that you are basically at the bottom of the food chain, and that you should fear the bigger fish in the sea. If there is one thing to pull away from this, it is that the inclusion of Terror over normal Horror is often more effective, a jumpscare wears off, but that constant feeling of being hunted? Stalked, and watched? That brings some new levels of fear, making our own minds turn against us as we wonder from where the next threat will come from. So in Subnautica 3, I would love to see a return of this type of mechanic, including having low visibility, maybe force the player to make use of their other senses such as using directional hearing to figure out where the threat is coming from? A predator that is always just stalking out of your line of sight, hiding from the light of your flashlight in the deep sea. The only indicator that it's there being sound, and your only way to fend it off being your light. Or maybe a creature that uses movement in the water to track the player, leaving you in more danger when using electronic equipment and forcing the player to rely on slow normal swimming lest they draw the attention of a blind beast? I would love to see more creatures that either limit the player due to environmental factors or due to creature abilities that make it dangerous to go in brazenly as one might normally do. I want creatures that stalk and hunt us, that lure us in, that taunt and toy with us, that make us truly feel like we are the helpless prey on an alien planet.

I would like to in 3 sabnautica: a wide variety of fish, "birds" and terrestrial creatures! Huge scales of the biome map! Elaborate and changeable plot (the main and many second-step plots that will greatly complement the world)! Transport from a small puddal boat to huge submarines! A variety of biomes, so that each biome you remember and look cool! And more leviathans that would be really scary even to come out of the rescue capsule! And the bases need to be made more variotic so that they become your full-fledged home and that you would be sad for the base when you fly away from the planet :)!

I think I heard in a recent interview they are considering the possibility of a bigger map. Some stuff about environment and even hinting things about multiplayer in a comment section somewhere. What I would like? *If they need something to keep you out of the Dead Zone, imagine this:* It's pitch black and as you venture farther and farther you feel a rumbling. The water seems inky and black as it slithers around you... Wait is that something mo-- A roar penetrates the darkness as giant lovecraftian tentacles light up the darkness. Stretching far far beyond the edges of your lights. They fall upon your vehicle and you barely get a warning from your PDA to "abandon hope and Alterra is not responsible for-". You never get to finish the message as the vehicle is torn apart and the tentacles make fast work to wrap around you and drag you down down into the depths. The pressure killing you before you even get to behold the terrifying monster that is going to feast on you. *A second thing:* Small deadly creatures or leviathans with lures that disorientate you. The thing that terrified me were the Mesmers in Subnautica 1. They hypnotized you and tried to convince you to drown so that they could feast on you. That scared me. Or the Penglings and their terrifying sideways mouths. They look cute until you see their mouths open. Making your stomach drop. I want something I thought was cute trying to rip me apart. I want to dive into underwater caves with something fast and small chasing me. I don't want the fear to stop in the water. I think they can really expand on the fear on land. If they wanna branch away from the ice they can go with overbearing jungle/swamp. So thick you can barely see past the paths. You don't know WHAT is lurking in there. They could camouflage into their environment. Swinging from trees, stalking from the bushes, be carnivorous plants, giant insects, and blending in like chameleons to snatch prey walking by. In turn? It could make the water murkier and green to limit visibility. Adding a whole new variety of water predators that use this to their advantage.

I know it's a stretch but it would be such a cool concept.
