You forgot the main thing, LAZINESS!!!! We as South Africans find comfort too quickly, the bar that has been set is way too low for young South Africans as compared to other countries, we need a changed mindset within our youth and with time we will get there 🙌. Never EVER underestimate the power of Education.

Thanks for another great video. Nna I'm a mindless spender and go crazy whenI see the words "Save/Saving/buy 3 for 2". So I try to stay away from shops. I'd rather pay the R35 delivery for Sixty60 than go to the shops. Dischem - I go in there with a list (in and out and no mindless isle cruising)

To be honest when I saw the title I was like oh gosh not another boring lecture about financial saving that is not realistic...but I was actually intrigued enjoyed your insights and k could relate on complacency and not keeping record of expenses...for me my problem is once I get paid I save quiet a lot then next few days I dip into those savings and don't keep record😭 thanks so much for this content, I'm happy that one could relate. It was realistic and informative as well.

The emotional spending part really got to me because, I had a blue Monday this week and felt everything was just going left🥹, then I told myself, “ You know what, you deserve this for the type of day that you had”. I won’t lie I felt a whole lot better and “happier”. But when my head cleared the next day, I was shocked ukuthi did I really spend this amount of money just because I was frustrated😫

Buying Lunch every day. Where I live in Canada folks spend at least $20.00 per day. Not keeping track of your finances is a hard fact. Also you don't realize just how much you spend. Buying Coffee at Starbucks adds up. Buying stuff online at Amazon which is very addictive. Also Dollar Type Stores are very addictive. I also take an Excel Sheet then I keep track of what I buy. If I spend more than I "make", I know I am in trouble but if it's not like that I am safe. Also Shakespeare said in Hamlet "Never A Borrower Nor A Lender Be". My Cousin can't balance his finances to save his life and it's so frustrating when he asks me for a Loan. He feels awful but I'm the only one who would help him.
