After college, I made friends with our landlord and got him to trust me. As friends moved out, I got new ones in and raised the rent. After a few years that earned me a deposit on a nice house. I then sold that house a few years later for 3x what I paid. With those earnings, I bought a bunch of empty properties near lakes. I’ve been working on building on those properties ever since. Im 32 and in a great position! Hell I rent out a room to a friend still today. Never stop hustling! 🤘🏻 great post!

WOW! I can’t believe what i have just heard you say. I am 58 years old and I started my business at age 28. If you asked me how i did it my words would be exactly what you just said. Everything you just said is what every person that is successful must do. Just like you all my toys are paid in full when i buy them. I only began to splurge once my money was working for me. Can I ad one more piece of advice? I go to every job displaying confidence even when I don’t have the answers. I do this because I know I can find them or figure it out later. One other thing I see so many people make the mistake of surrounding themselves with idiots. I always say “ distance yourself from idiots” Great video

As an established succesful small business owner, I now understand I should've gotten involved in real estate instead. The potential outcome is much more rewarding applying the same amount of effort and dedication like that of a general small business.

Vinny, thank you for this video. I recently discovered your channel from your man cave tour video! I’m a 4th year architecture student paying my way through college, and students loans are a b I t c h. I appreciate all the wisdom and reassurance. In this video you mentioned staying back while your friend went out drinking - I have served food the last year and it was very difficult to give up my social life, but reflecting on my past college years, getting blacked out never did shit for me. Thanks for reminding me not to waste my money on crap, I do that too much. If you have any advice for a young student who wants to own his own architecture firm one day, please let me know ! Thanks for sharing your knowledge - Jack Q

Speaking of $20 drinks…just cut out alcohol all together is my advice. Calculate the amount of money you spend on alcohol when you’re young and dump that into your savings account and most people would be shocked how much extra cash they have if they cut out the drinking and partying fund.

Fantastic points to live by, thanks for sharing. Finding that one 'thing' and sticking with it is key. Also, great advice about living below your means, so many people feel like they need to compete, and they go broke doing it. Becoming the best in your respective field is so valuable and I don't think enough people put enough emphasis on their careers and goals to make themselves stand out from the crowd.

Great video with good advice for those in their 20's. Unfortunately, our educational system is not built around basic life and career skills, and the expectations of young people in the workforce are, in most cases, not realistic.

Great video & perfect timing. I’ve been feeling quite lost lately as I run a small e commerce business on a side to make extra cash but just out of college I’m trying to figure out what I’ll do for a living. I definitely love that you asked so many questions about what people do for a living. I’ve been doing the same thing the last year as I work at this new job since I get to sell flooring to Tons of relatively well off or wealthy people. It helps get a good idea of where people find success and how. Thanks for the tips. Definitely need to work on living below my means I absolutely waste money and time there’s lots of room for improvement and the video was great gave me some needed direction 🙏🏽 I even just followed you on Instagram few weeks ago and now you showed up on my feed i was meant to see this haha
@VINGIGGS
@VINGIGGS Жыл бұрын
haha this is awesome! The first step is admitting you have a problem lol. Okay you don't have a problem, but you know what I mean. One thing I found is that wealthy people generally LOVE talking about what they do and will tell you the story of how they got there - they love to talk about themselves. So don't be afraid to ask. Worse case if they're a jerk they'll say no, but 99% of the time that's not the case. The biggest piece of perspective I can give you that I did not mention in this video is that life is long. For example, I'm 40 years old. If I live to 85 I still have 45 more years on this journey. In past lifetimes and with most people, 20 years is the full length of a career. So if you're say 25, that (3) full careers you'd have ahead of you. Even if it took 10 years of figuring it out, you could create the most amazing life you could ever imagine over the remaining 50 years. Sick, right?
@samirfarah640
@samirfarah640 Жыл бұрын
@@VINGIGGS You are absolutely right! They all love talking about themselves and the more I ask the happier they seem haha. Also I’m 24 so pretty spot on I like that analogy I’ve still got 3 full careers ahead of me! Plenty of time to experiment and see what will work. I appreciate the reply :) definitely little bit of a boost in confidence this will help push to work harder on myself

Love this video, quick question. What's the difference between having a REIT and owning physical real estate? I love real estate and currently just got my first property but I'm hearing things like REITS can pay monthly dividends that's way more passive depending on how much you invest.
@VINGIGGS
@VINGIGGS Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm not incredibly familiar with each type of REIT structure, but I do know when you take on the RE yourself you have a heck of a lot more control and a lot more wealth creation long term due to sweat equity, controlling interest and making all decisions, etc. In a REIT you're along for the ride. It's a great passive platform, but I've seen people do great and I've seen them lose money in REITs, but same can go for owning yourself

Awesome. Rich Dad Poor Dad is a great start. Contrarian Playbook by Manny Khoshbin is another great one if you're thinking about playing in the Real Estate space. Believe it or not I don't read a lot of books, my ADD doesn't allow me too, but I ask a lot of people a lot of questions and form good relationships with people at high level. That's where I've found the most value! Good luck and keep me posted!

@@VINGIGGS that's fantastic! My mentor currently has been a financial advisor for the past 7 years and runs in a lot of business circles, what is one way to get integrated into the similar circles confidently? I currently feel like I'm way out of my league approaching people who are running big companies and self confidence has always been a huge roadblock in my journey of growth and self improvement.
@VINGIGGS
@VINGIGGS Жыл бұрын
@@matthewmcardle5747 I would ask him that question since he runs in those circles around you. You need to be confident and not care what they think. Turn it around in your head and if you approach confidently and ask them about them, then you should be embraced. Successful people also like people who actually want to learn and improve themselves, and don't come off as full of crap when doing so. If you're authentic about it you should be embraced.
