Nice job! you guys are a great couple. My GF and I are toying with the idea of opening a cocktail bar in evening / Brunch in the day place in Thailand so this video has been really helpful! I'm a chef but have been doing market research for the past 17 years, kind of bored with that and keen to get back into F&B and make something from scratch. Thailand seems great vs. Singapore where I am now, as set up costs will be much much lower so if it does fail, we can just go back to our old jobs but at least we will have learned a lot and had fun!

I highly recommend doing that. If in thailand look for 3 main things- must have space for parking, must have atleast 20-40 seats, and cant just sell coffee - need food or drinks - because this way you can maintain income levels high. Good luck.
@russell303810 ай бұрын
@@mascotgin thanks! Am thinking of serving tourists so will be more like Patong area so parking might not be necessary but the other 2 highly relevant! Was thinking 20 seats but might be a bit low. Be great to connect
@mascotgin2 ай бұрын
Yes 20 seats seams a bit low but if turn over is fast it might do.

maybe you should try to do something different, like bring something for free like a small biscuit,and be creative with presentation of your product. also give a better speed connection,something that for you is not too expensive but give some add to the customers.

Oh maybe good idea:). Will think about it:)

Greetings,how are you able to work legally in Thailand ? It is my understanding that you need to open a company and hire a minimum of 4 Thai workers full time in order to obtain a work visa .Thank you for sharing .🙏

Hi. I do have a company with 23 employees:). So that helped.

you calculated how much coffee you and your wife drank a day (7 cups) to breakeven. I would like to know how much can you drink and make a nice profit to live comfortably ?
@mascotgin3 ай бұрын
:D. Only i drink 7;D.
@mascotgin3 ай бұрын
To be fair, comfortable living - it all depends on a person. People have different life styles. So its hard to say. Me and my wife spend quite allot. But i say anything between 30k/bath -100k/bath.

You are suppose to have a work permit which you can probably not get for this kind of work not to mention the paperwork and expenses. It would be impossible in your business. Hopefully a blind eye is turned for you but obviously your competitors can use this against you.
@mascotgin Жыл бұрын
There is always a way to get a work permit.
@vvdv3444 Жыл бұрын
@@mascotgin Think you need a company, investment and multiple thai workers and it can only be given for some job types. I think retail is not one.
@russell303810 ай бұрын
@@vvdv3444 But it's in his wife's name and from the research I have done, it seems legal for a foreigner to open such a business in Thailand. Obviously would need to have the relevant permits to work etc.
@vvdv344410 ай бұрын
@@russell3038 It is not legal unless you are an american and employ 4 people and get a work permit otherwise your wife owns it all and you are not allowed to really work in it.
@russell303810 ай бұрын
@@vvdv3444 thanks! Then how are so many foreign bar owners in Thailand? Australian etc. Are there ways around?
