Thank you for the videos! I start nursing school Jan 14, 2018! I finished all me pre-reqs over the summer (no co-reqs) and just had a super easy fluff semester of BS gen ed classes for my AA, so I took that time to read almost halfway through the Saunders Comprehensive NCLEX Review book and answer practice questions at the end of every sections. I also taught myself dosage calculations and ABG problems. I like to be prepared and it served me super well during pre-requisites. I got hired as an A& P tutor one week into A & P 2 at my professor’s recommendation and added Microbiology to that after my first micro exam. I’m super excited about nursing school! And now that I’m all prepared I have five weeks to RELAX!!

Love your videos! Very helpful. Ill be starting my prerequisites this fall. I'm so excited. I went to school for PCT/CNA about 11 years ago but ended up going into dog grooming training a year after graduation. I can't wait to get back into the nursing environment again. I'll be applying for the nursing program in January 2021. To get ahead of the game I'm picking up Kaplan exam books, med terminology and nursing foundations books from the library. I test pretty well so I know it's just about studying and getting the info in my head and make it all second nature. My kids are my motivation! I want to make a struggle free life for them. And build a legacy for my grandchildren.i have big dreams! Thank for all your vids. I'm working my way through them.

Out of depression and desperation, I found your videos. In my (LPN) program I needed a 80 to pass. I was in Fundamentals and anatomy. While I was still doing well in anatomy I got a 79 in fundamentals. So because of that they made me stop attending the program. But I am lucky enough to retake the whole program again in august. I do live in the what ifs. What if my car break down and I can’t get to school I live an hr away. What if it messes up with my time to sleep for work I work nights. What if I mess up again. I use your hypnosis video while I sleep that I will be a nurse. God willing I pray I do. Thank you for your videos. Lisa

Lol I was in RN school for 2 quarters at IT Tech and one semester at ECPI before I herniated my neck. When I herniated my neck and it was five cervical vertebrae when I was moving- not nursing- but moving, they automatically disenrolled me. It’s been two years and my neck is doing better and I’m strongly thinking about going back. I’ve been taking practice NCLEX questions online. Depending on the subject, I get anywhere between 50% and 80%. Haaha!! I just really need to refresh a lot and I thought that PowerPoint and lectures got me through everything. You’re absolutely right about taking medical terminology in addition to all the pre-requisite’s in addition to the general education classes before you take your nursing classes. If it frees up five or six hours of your week in addition to another 10 hours of study time, it’s worth it.

Hey girl so I’m a freshman and I’m taking a microbiology class right now... I’m super stressed because it’s not a hard class to pass because the professor has made all the tests so far super easy to get an A but i honestly feel like I haven’t learned anything. My question is... how important is knowing microbiology when you’re actually in the nursing program?
@catherineestrada5873 жыл бұрын
Not important overall! In my experience the only thing is be sure to know which bacteria is gram positive or gram negative and what medications kill that. It's important to know overall resistance and how and why disease spread. In my educational experience of BSN that's what came up in relation to Microbiology. So don't worry Too much

I’ll be registering for this fall semester. My question is, with CNA being a requirement for LPN or RN, would you suggest doing my CNA first before pre reqs? I was thinking of going that route since its only 8wks then i’ll at least be able to work and get the experience while getting pre reqs done. What’s your take on it?

Ok, although I’m not in the nursing program because I’m still waiting to hear back. This info is very helpful. I am definitely a person who feels she needs to being something even if it’s in small amounts like you suggested. I thought my A&P professor who has incorporated Med. That's my worst subject and it's so funny I actually had faith in myself until I took the practice test. Mostly with IV fluids. Mostly it’s a matter of you reading the order and reading the label from the pharmacy. Most of the time pharmacy will have the mL/hr to put into the iv machine. The best thing to do is take your time, read the order, and you can ALWAYS ask for help, heck you can even call the pharmacy.

Would i have to become a. CNA before i go to lpn school? If someone knows this let me know.
@yourfavnurseb96994 ай бұрын
No. I believe some states require it but I haven’t really heard that you need to. Look up LPN programs in your area to find out for sure

Hey r u a lpn already? I'm looking into becoming an Rn but everyone keeps telling to go for the LPN first. I'm so confused and I really don't want to pay for school twice.

@@niar3730 hey, Im not sure who your asking, but Id say go for RN. : ) even if its an adn and then evntually a bsn.

@@lear6884 everybody keeps telling me just try out lpn first but my community college doesn't offer a lpn program. I'm not the best at school and I just want to get it done and over with.

@@niar3730 If they are telling you to try it to see if you would like it I understand. I did cna certificate first and worked as one at a hospital while taking prereqs, I just think the faster route is better if your totally sure.

Is watching doctor related movies/dramas with superhuman nurses/doctor casts helpful before entering nursing or it will just make students believe that they can be those actors and have trust on fate, assuming probabilities and do undecided things to patients? Like psychological effects? Cause I plan to enter nursing school and I think watching movies related to nursing is helpful. But I just don't want how the casts be so unbelievably smart and hero like.

Chaéng Laurént I don’t think it hurts or helps, it just depends on how u are viewing it. It’s for entertainment and a lot of it is geared towards that rather than actual medical reality. You won’t see how you will perform in actual situations until you start working in the field.
