12:15 CNAs and techs need to hold professional liability as well, it should not all fall on the nurse. You cant be in a million places at once. And, especially in the nursing home, if these cnas were held accountable for anything they would take their jobs more seriously, instead all you hear is "that's not my patient", or "that's the nurse's job" etc. It grinds my gears bc even if a patient isn't my patient and something happens to them in front of me I have to jump in and help, not just bc of my legal liability, but bc nurses in general all have the urge or sense of responsibility, and cnas don't, they know nothing will fall on them and if they're fired they'll just apply to the next job. There is no board to answer to. G.od forbid you ask one of them to help out their fellow cna whose on lunch break and help a patient that's not theirs. OMG. And now-a-days the cnas tell the nurses what they will and wont do, you cant supervise someone who doesn't listen to you. I cant stand this mess man. Thats why Im leaving the nursing home setting, but this happens at the hospital too. A good cna or tech is a g.od sent

I just retired after 38 years. God was my strength! Thank God at 60 years old I'm healthy with no back trouble. I went to the Chiropractor weekly. My prayers go out to all nurses! Have a relationship with God, he will help you. I am a witness of this. We have to be a team and help each other in this profession.

Management is concern with charting, CBT and if is a Magnet Facility, they have the nurses' attending committees to agendas that are not improving pt care. I'm glad today nurses are not putting up with it. Even the doctors are waking up and quitting their jobs because of stress not getting adequate sleep. Something needs to change. I respect you for having the courage to discuss what goes on behind the scenes in nursing. You keep thriving! God is taking care of you for stepping to the plate and unmasking what we are dealing in nursing.

I know of a nurse (not a nurse anymore) she had a relationship with a man. Every Saturday night she paid someone to go and get him out of the nursing home. They were in a relationship with 6 months before they were caught. She had her BSN degree too. Lost that but her and the man wherever they are are married now.

Not necessarily, I took college algebra after all of my science courses. And I took my other math & English classes while taking the science classes. But it wouldn’t hurt to take them earlier if you have issues with reading or basic math.

I just finished my CNA few months ago. I thought I can’t do the LVN program. Because I was struggling with my CNa program because I have 2 little kids. I’m scared to try and challenge my self coz I am not a smart student but I am not lazy student. I can manage to Wake up at 3Am to study. I always drag my feet to go to school and not confident being around with younger students. I am 36 yrs old and I feel old to go back to school. but the reality kick in. Everything is getting expensive and my kids are growing. My husband is retired. So now I’m ready to challenge my self coz I’m tired of working with low pay. I will start my prerequisites this coming fall. 🙏

Congrats on finishing your CNA! That’s a big deal, keep believing in yourself and focus on your why. Don’t let your age stop you, you’re not going to get any younger is what they say right? That LVN program is going to fly by. Your babies and your husband are going to be so proud of you and you’ll be an inspiration. There are SO many people in their 30s, 40s etc in nursing school. I had a lady in her 50s in my RN program. I even worked with a nurse that didn’t go to school till she was in her 50s she retired a few years ago, she used to wear the boat hat and everything. I’m so happy for you for going for what you want, you’re going to do great!!

@yourfavnurseb9699 I wanted to be a nurse a long time ago. I have been a caregiver for my adult life so I figured I'd use that as a foundation and relocate. I'm thinking Memphis Tennessee. @yourfavnurseb96994 күн бұрын
Hey there, I have NOTHING to offer about chemistry except take it with ‘easier’ classes or even on its own, get a tutor, do any and all extra credit or lil fluff assignments if they have them, so you can make up for tests you may score bad on. I had to take this class twice and get a tutor. It actually becomes interesting once you can dedicate enough time to it but boy oh boy if you get behind it’s hard to get back on track. Also, if you feel like you can’t get a B or better just withdraw (don’t wait too long to drop the class or it will drop your GPA, drop the class during the add drop period…if you have to). Do some research on the best teachers to take, you can try rate my professor or ask some of your classmates that may have taken it or your advisor. Good luck!!!

I did the RN to BSN route almost exactly this way. I was able to work as an RN while finishing my BSN and paying toward my student loans. It did take me about 7 years but that BSN program was a breeze for many reasons, including I was taking all my co requisites while in the ADN/RN program.
@yourfavnurseb96995 күн бұрын
Smart cookie! I don’t think I’ll go further than my ADN. In my area the BSN takes 2 years!! Like why does it take that long, I’m already a nurse!
@ronniern61205 күн бұрын
@@yourfavnurseb9699 thats about how long it took for me but when I say it was a breeze, everything was group projects, holistic health class, music, leadership, communications; just very basic classes and not as intense as the ADN. Almost no papers or research. You just had to show up for the 3 hour evening lecture classes and participate in them. Those 2 years went fast but annoying because it was so easy, not at all challenging enough, and we were just read to be finally be done. It was super easy though.

I love your enthusiasm cause girl, I can not go back to the M/SFloor! I’ve worked as a case/care manager in hospital and clinical outpatient setting since 2016…different stress! But people really need to take their health seriously and get it together because nurses are burning out on those medsurg floors and it’s only going to get worse as people get sicker. But if I could work with you on the hospital floor I would because I know you are not lazy and work hard (like me)

I don’t feel like I am smart enough to become a nurse but this something I want to do. I really want more information so I won’t come into this field blind
@yourfavnurseb96995 күн бұрын
The more information you get the better, it will help with anxiety and like you said give you a better idea of what to expect. But ultimately you have to make up your mind that you want it and that you have what it takes to get it done, no one can do that for you, you have to believe in yourself for real, might sound lame but self confidence is key, fake it till you make it. Start with learning about entrance exams for the school you are looking to go to and then focus on studying for it.

@yourfavnurseb96995 күн бұрын
That’s the old school way, they used to always push, “do a year of med surg first”. But nowadays nurses say go straight into your specialty of choice and get into a new grad residency. Idk which option is best. I think maybe doing medsurg first can burn you out and maybe instill some not so good habits (bc you have to stretch yourself so thin). But also medsurg helps you to learn time management or at least forces you too.
