Exhausting but doing that too. 5: My niche is to not do this until the outro... when they've clicked off. I want people to watch me cause they want to not because I told them to. 6: It was weird. The only way you can use copyrighted material is if you transform it, commentate on it, criticize, etc. Fair use is allowed. Probably about 98% of the time, it WILL be claimed but you CAN dispute it. Depending on the claim, it’s 48 hours after dispute that the video would get blocked (or not be blocked, just depends) then after you have 28 days for the copyright holder to respond, and if they don’t, the claim is released. A lot of the time it is released because “who cares about this tiny youtuber who reacted or used our song? We’re too busy to deal with this”. Sometimes they do say that it is valid and it stays. At that point, just leave it. It’s not worth getting your channel striked/taken down. And then sometimes they do release it.

Honestly, as a pretty avid KZbinr, I don't know when anyone I follow actually posts their videos. Like I can't tell you their schedule. So I wonder how much this first point really matters. I think being consistent about how often is good, but exact day and time probably isn't that important.

Oh boy I am a huge offender of tip one for sure. I need to get on the stick there. The whole real job thing is killing me these days. Tip 5 is good I just struggle with when to do it. I tend to do it at the end but I know many don't make it to the end. I feel like asking for a like at the start of the video is a bit silly since they don't know yet and I usually forget to ask toward the middle. Thanks for another great video.

Nothing wrong with it. You can also just pop up a think that asks to like and subscribe during the video multiple times without say anything. Lots of people do it.

As Steven Binkley pointed out fair use applies to using copyrighted material for things like movie reviews. I'd love to have you expand on this, things like is there some rule of thumb on how long a clip can be and how to dispute a copyright claim based on fair use.

Fair Use is nice, but not enforced. You'll lose the revenue from almost every video you might post that has something copyrighted in it. KZbin puts the power of deciding what is "Fair Use" in the hands of the copyright owner, not the KZbinr. Can you afford to go to court to try to enforce it? Probably not.

Also with copyright - what about channels that do video essays about other movies and use clips? how does that work?

Has to be clearly an essay type thing and not cross the line. IF you want to do that, check out other large channels and use that pattern.
