One of the best helps I have found is the Enchiridion of Epictetus. Know what is in your control and what is not in your control. Do not let your happiness depend on things you cannot control.

Thank you for your insight on moral injury. Sounds like an accurate description of my disgust and loss of confidence with much of society after 2020.

Thank you thank you thank you for this broad perspective on moral injury. I am a veteran and a clinical social worker and a former educator for severely underserved youth. It is about so much more than combat and hospitals and tough decisions. Not to take away from those aspects… but they seem to dominate the conversation and it is limiting to the reality of moral injury and the ways it keeps so many people sick and less able to heal. As someone who has experienced moral injury and the consequences and now treats veterans and others with moral injury I just want to say this talk is spot on from my experience and perspective.

My therapist even said to me, "That's too much information." I didn't care really. My own problems were more of an issue to me than his reaction.

Thanks for this! It is a messy tangle that overshadows a lot of things. It helps to see it being shaped.

Exposure to the immorality in social groups that it is accepted and loved. Playing out possibilities and other views on the trauma. Ie: amazing new father dies in Iraq, single alcoholic soldier feels guilty, build story of the fatherless son with a hero dad. Would your death served as great a story? Something like that...maybe pointing out uncertainty and all that could help but it may make it worse. Identify the hurt and how you can master yourself for better situations. People don't listen to me and then bad things happen that would have been avoided is the hurt, so learn to lead more effectively. Or lead where you can. Volunteer with babies or horses. It's less personal. Some thoughts. Fantastic insight. Never heard of moral injury and wow...thanks.

thanks for this--as I begin my research to present to people who were ostracized from society for making a decision for their own body--so many people from all walks of life have experienced moral injury/distress--especially with the management of the pandemic. Until society is ready to listen to people with a compassionate lens, healing cannot occur

A weakened sense of those two human emotions/feelings. Always wondering if people/self are sincere thereby being able to be vulnerable. At 20:10 Question: a person recovering from substance abuse ANNDDD the lifestyle suffers from moral injury. Also people who have been abused as children suffer moral injury long before they comprehend morals....which does turn into PTSD. You've helped me tremendously. Thank you.

Dear Dr, If you investigate the effectrs of microwaves on us, you have answer: I did, since I noticed a new kind of neg.behaviours and only knew the well-known detrimentaleffects of them, like sleepessness, stress, lack o f concentration. I found it disturbs the vagal heart-.brain connection and disrupts man's love for the human being! The triple radiation-professor Olle Johansson and others state,: Cell phones are so dangerous that an adult should use them only for 30 mins in their whole life-time! Children not at all, and youth only for emergency calls. The damage is irreversible, and is expected to extinguish us before any environment disaster will...I am sorry to say. Yes stress exhaustion is a big cause for less shown compassion today. And we should get taught to take better care. Have you not invesrtigated evil and the shadow, dear Dr Snipes?

KZbin removed my comment about a moral injury so many faced over the last few years. But these things can't be talked about on our "compassionate dear leader" platform.😮😢😂
