Great tips Jay - Definitely some useful advice for me to take on board. Finding house numbers in the dark I agree is a nightmare, so the idea to use the light is really useful, I'll try that! Do you think the extra time it takes to message the customers throughout is helping to get a higher rate of tips and increase your hourly?

I think anything you do to increase customer satisfaction is going to help you get tips and increase your hourly. Whether it's worth the time or effort is entirely down to you, I would experiment and see if you get some positive results from it. I know for sure that in my local town it has helped me to get plenty of tips but not so much in the city. To be honest I don't send as many messages to the customer anymore, but instead I focus more on creating that positive feeling when I meet the customer face to face. In my opinion this is HUGE. I can often guess which customers are going to tip me based on my interaction with them. Hope this helps bro 👍🏽

@@GigHustle Yeah I think the main thing is the customer interaction and making them feel positive, like you said. I just smile and be friendly and ask how they're doing - Most people talk back but obv not everyone is that keen. I'm fairly new to this sort of thing as I have never worked in retail, but quickly got out of my comfort zone and it's a lot easier than when I first started and didn't know what I was doing. I haven't tried using people's names but I will start trying this now so they feel more special as I took the effort to use their name - Great idea. The only times I've messaged people during the order is when I'm at mcdonalds and I let them know if I think their order will take a while, just so they're aware. But I might try out that swift key thing and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the advice!

@@SimonTrowse I would suggest reading 'How To Win Friends And Influence People' this will transform the way you interact with people! Saying a person's name is very powerful, it's the sweetest words they can hear :) SwiftKey is great and it's free! Definitely worth experimenting with. Also some customers might not react to your kindness, ignore these people. They usually have other stuff on their mind which is bothering them, so don't make the mistake of thinking you did something wrong!

Wish all delivery guys were friendly like you. I ordered a KFC last week and the delivery guy was miserable. He said I didn't put the door number on my order (which I did) then just handed me my meal and rode off. (He got given a good tip as well) XXX😘😘

Thank you Dawn :) It happens quite often that people don't put their door number on the order but it's not something to get upset about! I just give the customer a ring and get the number. The only time it can get frustrating is when they don't answer your calls and you are just waiting around haha. However Uber has put a timer on orders now, so when you arrive to the location, the customer has like 6-7mins to collect the order. That was very nice of you to give them a tip 🙏🏽

@@sgsuper1150 I haven't had to wait very long for restaurants or customers, maybe I'm just lucky! I did however go to the new MacDonald's that has just opened up in my town and I was waiting 15 mins and just cancelled the order. If certain restaurants are consistently making you wait for a long time then I just reject orders from that place.

I've always placed an order then made sure I'm ready to receive my order when its delivered and will always give a tip. Yeah I can see why you think that and it’s probably true for most customers. However the difference is how I communicate with them. I make them feel good and so they are happy to chit chat. Not to brag or anything but not everyone can do that.

Hi Phillip! This is perfectly fine! You won’t get penalised at all! In fact I think Uber prefers you to do this as the customer is getting their food more quickly and they don’t have to pay as much for the delivery (Uber pays you according to the distance you travelled amongst other metrics). I mean you can do the longer route and probably get paid more but I don’t bother with this kind of thinking...I just want to do the delivery as quickly as possible 👍

When i switch over to google maps while delivering, do i still get order requests and they get automatically declined? Is there any way to receive the orders while i am on google maps? I use a iphone btw thank you

I'm on iPhone and I can receive requests for all of the apps whilst not being on the app itself. They don't get automatically declined...they ping for about 20-30 seconds and that usually gives you enough time to accept or reject it. On Android I think they have issues with Uber when not being on the app...think they aren't able to see the customer location or something!

You mean double orders on Uber Eats? Nowadays I don't bother because they pay pennies for you to deliver the second order and they often mess you around with the delivery locations so you end up going far - I just do one delivery at a time on that app because I don't want to be messed around.

Hey mate! Deliveroo is probably the best app at the moment because it has most of the demand and you can work pretty much anywhere in the UK. Uber seems to be much quieter these days but I reckon there will be some good towns and cities for Uber but it's hard to know which. Just Eat is probably good for demand but it limits you to work in specific areas. Stuart does deliveries for Just Eat but even that has slowed down a bit in my experience and it's limited to the city you want to work in. I would download the Rodeo app as you can see in the UK where you can deliver and what the pay is like. Only thing is you can't see the demand atm but on the Deliveroo app you can actually change location and see the demand. So get the Deliveroo app ASAP haha

They've unfortunately taken this feature out. Tips have reduced a bit as the customer interaction has been cut out. I just try to be nice when I see them and wish them a nice day. I get a tip every 3-4 orders. I've had one whale tip which was very lovely.

How long does Deliveroo application take? It’s been a week & I’m still on the waiting list. How much longer do they usually take in this situation?

Deliveroo's application process is a little bit unorganised. I applied back in July and only got an email to join in October. One of my friends applied in October and got onboarded within a few days. Were both in the same city! He got onboarded before me haha. I would suggest researching which areas are recruiting and apply to that area with another email. You can always change your location in the app once your account is activated. Good luck!

Also i noticed you send a message to costumers as soon as you get a order, i cant do that until ive collected the order, did they remove it in a update? And is there any way to send a message to the second customer when you picked up a double order? Usually i can send a message only after i delivered the first one. I think they've changed it but I wouldn't worry about messaging the customer. I would focus on a positive customer interaction when you see them in person! Smile, be polite and just be nice to them :)
