Great video, it's not fear mongering when it's a inevitable reality.

I'm definitely not able to start any major side hustles right now (about to have a baby) but I really appreciated the sensitivity that you used when approaching this topic. Love your channel!

I am OUT OF TRACK with my expenses this month. I impulsively booked a major trip and not apologetic about it, even shopping for it. But then again I'm cheating because I am just taking it out of my "savings" (typically I'd have a fund for each purchase). It pays to stick to budget the past yearss so I have a large general savings. To compensate though I put some investment money on a high interest time deposit so my plane and train fares are at least is going to be recuperated in 6 months. I plan to side hustle the fck after my trip though 🤣

I am in the exact same situation 😂 I am glad I had sinking funds dedicated to this trip, but I'm still a little over budget ! Hopefully I have a few side hustles in the following months to compensate 😂

@@elise6346 Yea I have sinking funds for travel too but that was pre-covid travel expense calculations... back when plane tickets were like 1/3 the price lol. We deserve this tiny setback as lonh as we're not going in debt because of it!!

pet car services (in a major city) are a great random weekend job to have if you make sure you do it professionally rather than casual sitter as it helps you have higher pay ranges.

The only thing I don’t know how to set a budget for in my emergency fund in the event of job loss is healthcare. If I loose my job I lose insurance and in the US that’s typical

Your employer may be able to estimate your COBRA expenses in case that happens. Or, if you don't want to ask that question (touchy HR/managers may question loyalty just for asking🚩 but anyways) you could ask someone who recently left (they likely received this info via snail mail even if they left for a better position).

@@casondrastinson8525 Can anyone actually afford COBRA? It's so unfeasible.
@casondrastinson8525

@Diana Rusnov I don't know, as I have been able to get on a new employer's benefits or my spouse's when there were changes like that. I have seen it estimated before and for my previous positions it nearly doubled my monthly premium. So if you were to budget for it in your emergency fund, you could try doubling your current premium, but that depends on you trusting that your employer is currently covering half at minimum. They could be covering more or less.

@@dianarusnov292 I hate COBRA! My last job i lost they offered it for $652 a month. How would someone pay that if they DONT HAVE A JOB OR INCOME?! Not to mention your basic necessities with just living and having a roof and food. That literally makes zero sense. I hate when jobs do this ugh

Invest in yourself , your knowledge, skills , creativity , etc ... You can still know how to be productive , creative even if the inflation rises to triple digits like over 100 percent as in Syria , Lebanon, Venezuela and Zimbabwe... There has been deep devaluation of the national currencies ... How could you create new products or services to make a living and even a life ...?
