The hardest part is to find a partner. If a man isn’t smart - bye. If he’s too emotional or too romantic - cringy. Doesn’t have sense of humor or doesn’t understand mine - adios. Also I was called cold-hearted and emotionless. Now it all makes sense to me. It’s just how I’m rigged, take it or leave it. So basically I’m doomed to die alone with 40 cats.

The self improvement is 100% accurate. As an INTJ female, my whole 'life philosophy' / purpose of living is for 1. Personal growth 2. Societal growth Great video !
As also an INTJ female, i always had the perspective since i was a child to wonder what was the purpose of my whole existence on earth. So i spent my life really just trying find my purpose by improvement and exploring my talents on what i could do to better society while continuing to improve my personal life. People always described me as a child who is “beyond her years”. Meaning that i always questioned the purpose of things and never got emotional or upset about the truth while looking beyond the reasonings and purpose for things in life. I thought alot about the future as well trying to figure out how the future could play out based on what directions i could’ve taken hypothetically.

As an INTJ, I'm confident about a lot of things, but when it comes to personal matters, not so much. I wouldn't call what you describe confidence as such, but more bluntness or honesty. I try to seem like I don't care about what people think, I like being weird, and I'm afraid to call out people for what I think isn't correct, but at the same time, I'm not as inwardly confident as you think. Not sure your age but I was the same when younger but as you get older you will care less and less what people think of you and hopefully your confidence grows. I always remember this “people think about you way less than you think they do” (remember especially for those embarrassing moments we all have. To make you feel better I once walked up to the front of a conference full of peers with my long skirt tucked into my granny panties). I laugh about it now. And yes sometimes I wish I could let other peoples actions not bother me but right is right and it’s hard not to judge them. Oh and I love weird so keep being you.

I am an INTJ A women, still I have problems with ending relationships cuz I don’t know when I will or if I ever will find someone that understands me. I don’t mind being alone but NEVER having someone to talk to becomes a bit overwhelming sometimes. Edit: for all the comments asking, yes I did not kept undesired relationships in my life but that doesn’t make it necessary easier. For all the INTJ that pretends to be emotionless for the sake of looking cold, that doesn’t make you an INTJ. I have emotions. We all have. We are more reserved but we do have sense of humor and emotions. Being cold doesn’t mean that you are an INTJ, it only means you lack empathy and basic human connections. And for all the other INTJ, if you have a problem and if being extremely cold or distant is a problem try to improve that, personalities and people are not stuck to a single place, we are supposed to evolve and fix our flaws, so it doesn’t really matter your MBTI as long as you keep track of your goods and flaws.

Hello, like many of us here, I am also an INTJ female (adolescent), and I appreciate your content. In my opinion, INTJs are very stereotyped personalities and our intricate minds are oversimplified in many ways. The intelligence we have has many facets. The points you have mentioned are very true as well, but I must say it's always a grey area for us. In defining any personality, labels ironically explain lesser than what we might expect. INTJs are logical, stubborn, competitive, and altruistic even. We question authority- school, parents, company, and people who take advantage of us. We grow up mature way before our time and see the world almost as clearly as an adult during childhood. In the teenage years, we connect to things more spiritually, try to find meaning in things around us, and identify what we're good at. We love balance. The first few failures for us are devastating and leave a long-lasting impact, but we adapt and learn at our pace. We can manipulate, but we never overstep boundaries, and we are morally sound people, which is why our hard work and intelligence are exploited, but we learn early in life how to protect ourselves. We are, indeed, funnier than people realize. We are criticized for thinking differently, and people our age and older think we are overly arrogant when it is only our principles that mean the most to us.

I am certain the instructor that went over my final nursing school evaluation was also an INTJ female and so very thankful for it. She said that the other students (all girls) found me to be very bossy but explained that I was simply far more assertive than any of them. She went on to say that they also thought I was very arrogant but that was simply them not recognizing my strong self confidence and assuredness for what it was. She ended by telling me that she hoped that I would never let people's misperceptions bring me down because I was a rare type of nurse/woman that the world could use more of. Her assessment of me had a great impact and I will never forget it.

100% agree. I think we are the best at staying true to ourselves which I find is very hard for most people. I never liked being compared to anyone and also was competitive in my own way and stood my ground if someone wasn’t respecting me or if adults were trying to tell me what to do but the reasoning wasn’t sound. I would completely quit the sport if I didn’t like the coach because they kept talking to me a certain way even though I told them I wouldn’t stand for it. And I managed to get my mom to put me in first grade and skip kindergarten at such a young age because I didn’t like the teacher. 😂

I always knew I was different from other women and for a while I worried I had sociopathic tendencies because i process emotions quite differently than others. I feel emotions but from a colder more logical side. Taking the Briggs Meiyers test saved my sanity. Researching my INTJ personality type was eye opening and I fit it so well. I stopped 20 year friendships when I had had enough and walked away with no feelings for them. Once I’m over you whether a friend or lover there’s no going back and I rarely if ever think of them. Over is truly over for me. Why would I invest another minute? I also seem to be in the single category which is something I’ve accepted as I’ve gotten older and older. Intj’s can’t fool themselves long term so if it’s not a good match you cut your losses and move on. I’m lucky most of my coworkers accept me for who I am and I’m very honest with them. I want them to have happy lives but I’m not the least bit interested in the details of it.

Same here. I never really was an emotional or affectionate person from even since i was a child. I was also very guarded in my emotions and am still not an affectionate person as an adult. As and INTJ male, much of what is presented is true regardless of gender. What was not explained was, at least in my case, my confidence or self-esteem, was/is based almost completely on what I know or my skill-set. INTJs are keenly aware of what and how much they know and the limits of their skill-set. I might be orders of magnitude better or more knowledgeable than others in the room, but if I don't know as much as I think I should, you won't see my confidence. Asking INTJ pre-teens and teenagers to display confidence where they don't feel it is warranted is a steep hill to climb.

Everything here is pretty much true except that I have do not have the level of emotional control that I wish I did and I do not finish everything, at least not in a timely manner. It can be very hard to have such high standards and constantly struggle with them myself. It does make me more compassionate to those who are trying but struggling though, because I get it.

INTJ + ADHD = Potentially the worst combination ANYONE could try to manage, live with, and still succeed. Oh man, that comment about being considered "coldhearted" during teen years is SPOT ON. I am highly empathetic but I am also very direct, and I want to find solutions. I'll sympathize but only to the point where people are willing to help themselves. If someone is continually complaining about a situation but make no move to correct it (or even to accept others help), I start to feel frustrated with them. The logical course isn't doing the thing that is causing you grief repeatedly and expecting different results. I've also been told that my confidence in doing what I want without caring how it will be perceived is intimidating. I don't care about looks (other than being decently presentable). I'm not into makeup - it's a waste of time. I don't care if people think I'm attractive or not, as long as I don't look like a hill troll, I'm comfortable. It definitely made it difficult to relate to other girls when I was younger. Boys and fashion were BIG DEALS... and I did not care.

I got INTJ and I think it suits me. I am really competitive and ambicious. When there is a group project I take the possition of a leader and if someone is already in this possition I am trying my best to convince others that my idea is worth it (if I disagree with the previous one). I was also doing speeches for my class when there was a chance. I love being viewed as smart and independent. I love studying. On the other hand when there is a party I do not want to be the center of the atention. I love to listen to others conversations. People say that I have really high standarts for people that I want in my life and yes... that is true I am picky. They sometimes say that I am weird, not really empathic and I agree. But I am not emotionless. Also my dad was surprised that I do have my life planned for another 15 years and I thought that it is not weird. It is hard to be an INTJ but I love it.

Some tips for parenting the INTJ teen female; 1. Make sure she has access to peer social groups outside of her immediate school environment. 2. Provide competitive activities that are not 'team sports'. More obscure individual fields with their own social structure and community like cycling, ski racing, swimming, etc. are excellent choices. 3. Intellectual enrichment is a must; if they show interest in music, provide access to multiple genres and practices (performance, composition, appreciation). If literature, then classic film or the theater will interest them. (etc.) 4. Above all, make them aware of their fundamentally 'different' social and mental orientation, explain its appeal along with clear explanations of its potential limitations, and provide examples of other INTJ's for their own comparison and review. 5. As their Parent- and as you are also likely to be an INTJ yourself- be very aware of their tendencies towards perfectionism and self-criticism beyond levels that are healthy for a developing young person. Teach them the *value* of failure when it is tied to its corollary and twin; persistence. Unless they learn to embrace failure, they may close themselves off from both effort and experience, leading to long term difficulties. 6. Let them go; when they choose something inexplicable to you, or persist in directions you don't necessarily understand- make your own case clearly, reasonably and directly, then respect their own ability and degree of self-knowledge.....and let it go. Except on evidence of the most dangerous levels of self harm, allowing your INTJ to reach their own conclusions is the best way for them to learn. In cases of purely preferential matters- after expressing yourself- remind them that you respect their autonomy. 7. Don't be too proud or afraid to seek help. You have been given a rare opportunity....

INTJ here. One of the things I find the hardest is that people don't really seem to believe that we struggle. They see what outwardly appears to be a cool, calm person progressing a planned series of actions. They never see the hyperactive mental struggle, the plans gone awry, the things dropped or lost, and the massive trim down the project underwent in order to succeed at all....they just see that it worked out and assume its easy. And this is something that just gets worse as you get older and get more responsibilities.

I've never saw a video so right about myself. Kinda scary how accurate this is haha. Except for the fact that my confidence is not that high and depending on with who I am and where I am, I'm not holding back my anger this easily (but I guess it can be explained by my social anxiety and traumas). In fact I hate when people tell me what to do or order me around, I hate following people blindly and the people who follows too easily. Even though social anxiety makes me scared about what other people think of me, my personnality is above and I won't hesitate to speak my mind. It's true that I take work seriously and I do like dark humour the most. I also didn't felt comfortable around other teenage girls and tended to take some distance with them : I managed my teenagehood because I'm quick-witted. Anyway, we were in the same biology class and that's how we met. We both had the top marks, and she had 99%. I had 98%. She was always smarter than me, but we never argued, and her son loved me. Our first date was playing Left 4 dead while eating Dorito's and drinking mountain dew. For the true *gamer experience*. We didn't touch or nothing. She even said she was thinking about not coming but decided to go. So we usually hangout together and got coffee till one day we just kissed and that's how it started. So if anyone wants tips on an intj treat her how you would want to be and let her come out of her shell at her pace when she's ready she will happily make it known trust me.

My partner also managed to stay strong and use logic to reassure me whenever I get frustrated and anxious of staying committed to a relationship. @BenjaminAlternate6 ай бұрын
It seems to me that your professor made the mistake of assuming feelings = emotions. Emotions are how people express feelings, but lack of emotion on the face doesn't mean any given individual is unfeeling or not kind on the inside. However, I can see why people make the feelings = emotions all the time is because unless you communicate through words, the only way to tell how somebody else is feeling is via visual ques like emotions. So, if one doesn't take the time to talk to their INTJ loved ones, then they might get an inaccurate assessment of what that person is feeling.

Yes! Whenever I take the test (about every 5-10 yrs maybe), I will choose the "Thinking" answers over the "Feeling" ones, almost exclusively. But when I read the descriptions of behavior, I find a lot of the NF in me IRL. I'm an Introvert at heart, but I learned to be pretty Ambiverted years ago, so I sometimes test as XNT_ (50/50 Introvert/Extrovert). And because I am contrary and just straddle many lines (logical/creative, masculine/feminine, reserved-awkward/affectionate-passionate, lead in business/follow in intimate settings), I've always been on the line between P and J. So XNTX is what I've tested at the last couple times, if I remember correctly. How's that for "in-between" personality? LOL. Now imagine being in _several_ "tiny minority" groups and wanting to find friends and romantic partnerships with People Like Me...the odds are incredibly small. I've never actually found someone I really wanted to be with long-term, so it's been just me and my cat(s) for long stretches. Luckily, I'm good with that...most of the time.

I'm still trying to recover that part of myself that I lost and I completely fucking hate being reliant on people, but I needed to do it because I had to babystep my way out of the whole anxiety/agoraphobia bullshit or else I risk not coming out of it at all because I literally couldn't do it alone. I dont know how you'd fix fainting outside by yourself??? I tried and nothing was working aside from "get some support". I think I am quite emotional, but when it comes down to it, I just have to go the logical route. I don't think it's healthy to absolutely align my whole soul with a test result, but I do relate a lot to these. I absolutely can come across as "cold and aloof". Socializing can be really difficult at times because I really am not a fan of super emotional and whiny people. I made a cons list of all my icks for dating to help me sort people before I become more emotionally attached and understand why I suddenly lose interest in people. A lot of them are overly emotional, helpless behaviors. I want my alone time, I don't need you. I want you. I am autistic though, and a Capricorn. I feel these could both easily be similar identifiers people could use to sort me this way. I'm 0% intimidated by anyone, and I'm not worried about authority at all. I don't like following rules just to follow them. Anyway, I'm seeing another autistic capricorn intj ironically, and I feel extremely myself and comfortable with him. Highly recommend, not mine of course.

I don't think that we are truly emotionless but rather experts at suppression/denial of them - however, it could definitely be said that the things that cause other people to be emotional don't affect us in the same way. If we feel emotional about something then you know it is something we care about very deeply. My mother and sister would cry over episodes of Little House on the Prairie and call me 'cold & emotionless' because I didn't. I barely heard them because I was too busy trying to figure out how I was related to these ridiculous sobbing idiots.

as an intj female, i agree with everything that was said in this video. but i can say that due to my mental health issues my confidence a bit lowered, i am still not afraid to say everything that's on my mind and i'm not really agreeable though. i've heard so many times from people, especially my mom-esfj, phrases like "what you said is mean, you should apologize, you egocentric bitch" etc, but i can't really understand what mean things i said, especially i don't like when people offend bcs of it with no explanations. for me it's quite hard to comprehend and predict people's emotions, but this doesn't mean i am unempathetic and cruel. in fact, though i'm mostly logical, i am very empathetic towards certain people and i try hard to understand their feelings, but i usually have to ask them to explain their feelings to me so i could understand them better. so yeah, dealing with emotions is not really my thing. i'm trying to deal with this emotional dismissiveness to be more successful and efficient, bcs i find it hard to understand people's feelings sometimes, so i thought "if i could understand this, would it be easier to work with people". personal growth is what i definitely love! and yeah, my first priority is me, my job and career, so i'm not looking for any closer relationship, but when i think of it, i notice that my ideal partner must be intelligent, curious, inquisitive, open-minded, quick-witted, logical, confident, ambitious and we must have the same views on life, so we could be a perfect team!

as an INTJ male I find it interesting, that you picked a name which sounds male, while mine seems to sound female a bit xD I wonder, would a partner who can handle emotions also interest you?

Honestly, as an intj, i HATE when other people dont admit they are wrong its like I am pounding my head on a brick i just wanna slap them hard.

Woman. Woman. INTJ Woman. And we do make decisions based on emotion, we tend to weigh what's rational vs what is emotionally satisfying and make a decision based on which yields the best result. Yes, I realize that this is a "logical" way of thinking, I'm just being pedantic.

At 41, I am still called aloof, cold hearted or direct, unemotional by people. I’m not cold, I just don’t feel the need to please anyone and I am very very slow to open up or show emotions.

I’m an INTJ-T, both in teen years and now in my mid 30’s. I identify with everything they say about us, however, I’m not confident at all, and tend to people-please to my own demise. My only guess as to how this happened is trauma/PTSD stemming from my past. Alone in my thoughts, I’m a total INTJ, but can’t find my own in public. I’ve taken the test dozens of times, and still get INTJ. Any others feel this too?

I am also an INTJ and not very confident on myself I think it has to do with having parents who would get mad at me a lot for no reason.
