Actually, if you ever find/rescue a raped person or someone who's experienced a trauma and is crying, newer research shows that you are definitely allowed to cry too, if you feel pain for them. People actually respond better when they get mirrored, in pain too. It would validate their feelings in a way that makes them feel less alone. But if they are not crying, it's not mirroring and it may feel like a burden to them. So it's all about how they react to the trauma.
@Emily-lh6em3 жыл бұрын
That story made me so sad. I think crying with someone would be a bit comforting. When she says "I could have been nicer" I just want to rip that mans throat out....no matter if you're bitchy or reject someone that doesn't justify what that turd did. He got embarrassed...boo hoo. I really hope she's doing better
@bruggeman6723 жыл бұрын
@@Emily-lh6em some people don't take humiliation well. Honestly I thought it was refreshing to see people can learn to be better even in terrible situations. Haven't gotten to the story you're talking about yet, but when it comes to panic filled or traumatic situations that aren't my own [I have panic attacks from a changing schedule, I'm an odd bird, I can't help it.] I tend to go into kind of a calm mode or robot mode, I'm all logic and rationalization. I honestly should've become a paramedic or nurse or something because blood and gore doesn't bother me too much and I shut off my emotions to become an eye of the storm. I don't even know why I react this way. I'm not experienced with dealing with traumatic situations, but when everyone else's stress is been shot up, Mine comes all the way down. ... Granted I also have the opposite effect sometimes. My stress sky rockets when everyone else's isn't there. -.-;;; I've got something wrong with my brain. =P

A young guy at a *bar* met a 60 something year old woman who he immediately noticed looked great for her age. The young guy drank a few beers when the woman turned to him and asked, "have you ever been with a mother and daughter?" The man shook his head no, immediately excited by the idea because if she looked that good her daughter must be gorgeous. They talked a while more when she grabbed his hand and winked, saying, "this is your lucky night!" and drove him back to her place. She turned on the lights and shouted upstairs, *"Mom! "I could have been nicer" No. Absolutely not. You are in no part to take responsibility for what happened. Nothing you could have said or done rationalizes or shifts any amount of blame to you. That....person showed what he was. If it wasnt you it would have been someone else and if he did it to one person he unfortunately did something similar to someone else in the past. You are in absolutely, not even one bit, to blame. I wish you and to others reading this, security, love, contentment in the future.
@dahliacheung60202 жыл бұрын
Yeah, she could have been nicer. There was no need to call him a loser as that's extremely rude, immature behavior. However in the context of what happened she is in now way at fault. As you said, maybe he would've just gone on to assault someone else. However I think that even if he'd let him down gently, he still would have attacked her because it's not about politeness with these guys; it's about entitlement and not giving them what they want. He was a bad dude and yeah, he was a loser, so even though she could have just said "No thanks," and left it like that, the issue and the blame lies fully with him and not with her. No matter what anyone does, they deserve to be safe from things like assault. It saddens me that many see it differently

These were all just so sad. And the second to last story where the victim said she should have been nicer, maybe, but her being stuck up to the creep doesn't mean that he should beat and rape her. And of course there is never a good enough excuse to do that to another human being. Though if she had been nice and accept the drink from him, he might have pressured her into having sex with him when she may not have wanted too. Again, I'm not saying it would have happened, just that it might have. He did sound like a desperate fool. Glad he was caught, one less creep on the streets.
