The threat to society is neutralized, once the criminal is behind bars.

@@bomber9912 There are many ways for that threat to continue: They escape, they exploit the legal system, and/or they contribute to violence/death of those among them (Including prison staff), they "inspire" or convince others to do as they've done... It's unrealistic to expect a person to be rendered completely harmless by virtue of simply relocating them. This is just to say that there is always a possibility, so long as they live, that they can/will become a threat again. Dead people _can't_ do any of that, though. Because they thought it would be fun...no payment, just for the thrill of it... And people submit themselves to this because they also think it's fun... Unless the participant goes thinking it's not what is reported and what to confirm it or they just genuinely do not know that actual torture is happening, I don't get why someone would go or think it's fun.... When I was a young paralegal trainee in the late 70s, we had a case in South Florida of a young man who was convicted of murdering an elderly woman. One of our attorneys was helping in his appeal because the “man” was so mentally disabled, he was likened to a toddler and didn’t even understand what murder meant. I remember a video of the interrogation. It was so sad! He couldn’t help in his defense! We lost and I learned that the Justice system has little Justice. My only solace was that the man-boy was in a much better place and God knows the truth.

The last story is really messed up. It sounds like something from a Rob Zombie film. I'm really hoping that it's not true. Then the 2nd story, that was sad. And the killer deserved what he got. She turned him down, so his solution is to kill her? But then it turns out that that was what he was planning all along. Good thing the police caught him when they did before he hurt more people. Too bad Canada does not have the death penalty. Canada's justice system can be pretty messed up, as most of them time, a person who kills another person may only get a few years. Anyways, I live in BC and it's just, so strange to hear about people being killed and so brutal. Don't get me wrong, there have been a few murders where I live, but it's rare. Well, just from hearing these stories, it just proves that humans are monsters.
