Regarding the 2nd story and the drum beats, it sounds a lot like "night marches", but that's specifically to Hawaii from what I know..I don't know if any other culture has something similar but according to local legend, if you hear the drum beats and/or see/hear footsteps as though an army is marching through, you're supposed to strip naked and get on the ground to bow your head so your forehead is touching the ground. If you look at a night marcher in the eyes, they supposedly take your soul

In Story #5, Big Basin is mentioned. I love camping there. I always feel like I'm being watched when I there though...so maybe it's those creepy in-bred mountain people? There's something magical but a bit unnerving about the Santa Cruz mountains. There's a beautiful Buddhist monastery on the way to the Big Basin Redwoods State Park that I'd like to visit someday.

The first one was not a wendigo but a rake. I know the name rake came from a creepypasta story but the name fits the creature. I saw one once 17 years ago hunting in a diet stand blind. I have never gone into the woods again. I'm 6'2. 240. This was skinny but 10-12 feet tall and its head was creepy as hell but it dropped to all 4s and runoff on backwards legs like an insect. It didn't see me but I watched thrust a scope for 5 minutes. Nope, nope.....

I used to live in Santa Cruz and yes, there are people who live in the woods. I don't think the people in the woods are inbred (at least not as inbred as the people are where I live now...) but that doesn't mean they aren't dangerous. Santa Cruz area and the surrounding mountains have an eerie energy about them. The occurrence of stranger-initiated violence is much higher there than most other places in California.

Great stories. Thank you. I’ve only been camping ⛺️ two times. Once my Girl Scout troop went on an overnight trip to a Girl Scout camp. No facilities. Only an outhouse which I absolutely hated. The other time I was in my 20’s. We were in a campground at Lake Lanier in Gainesville, GA (USA) o they did have facilities. I still didn’t care for it. A modern cabin or a Lodge in the mountains or a hotel is more to my liking. LOL P.S. I’m glad things are going well potty training Pandora. I can’t believe she’s old enough for that. It seems like yesterday she was a baby. I remember one night you were doing a video and you mentioned she had learned to bang her toys around that’s why she could be heard in the background banging them around. I thought she’s so precious. 😊
