I have nothing against people that want to play a game on its highest difficulty, I do however have a huge bone to pick with people that rage against easy modes: Not everyone is a masochist or a weirdo that uses games for self-improvement or has the time and energy to "git gud". Telling someone they aren´t playing games the "right" way because they don´t want to play on ultra hardcore mode makes you look like one hell of a jerk.

I understand where your coming from on this one and completely respect your opinion. I would however point out that there is a difference between plying it once on story mode to say you played it and a complete different point of being a player who plays a game several times on each difficulty level. I myself am one who wants the challenge of hardest difficulty (Horizon Zero Dawn made me work for that completion 2 times) and it was epic. I will however suggest to anyone to try the hardest difficulty of a game at least once. Doesn’t have to be your default like myself personally, but I personally believe all gamers should at least make the attempt sometime. You never know...you might actually like it. That’s how I converted.
@ryanricks30024 жыл бұрын
@@bberghahn ya while I don't mind a good difficulty spike that's not how everyone rolls dog and saying u want all gamers to do that contradicts the point of different type of games and players it ain't for everybody is all I'm sayn
@bberghahn4 жыл бұрын
Ryan Ricks I completely agree with your point. I know that there are different types of gamers and won’t or don’t go anywhere near the insanity harder difficulties and I respect it and understand it. I personally am one who know players who have went back and revisited games from start to finish (HZD comes to mind) and simply refuse to up the difficulty level (even on new game plus) and I understand that they do it for either replay value or just the simple enjoyment of the game. Not all games of the past (FFVII era comes to mind) when new game plus didn’t exist so it was always the same run through only thing changing is how hard you can make it on yourself, so I get it. However in this day and age of gaming (going back to HZD) where you can play a game with the base gear and starting a new game plus, to me personally it is a time where I will usually suggest upping the difficulty. This isn’t necessarily related to a harder play through (I played HZD on ultra hard mode the first time and went back to ultra hard mode in new game plus - yeah saw a trophy for it and said “why not”) and I found the 2nd play through in new game plus was a breeze compared to the first because I had awesome weapons and armor on the front end. This is the reason that in this day and age I do play almost anything on the hardest difficulty (not all games let you up the difficulty level) because I do enjoy the challenge. It is also the reason I would suggest to anyone to try it at least once, whenever they feel like trying it. New game first play though or several years later after putting in several thousand hours in the game and decided to restart your 10th new game plus on the base game. That’s what I mean by suggesting everyone should try the harder difficulties of games at least once. If you don’t. Keep playing and being you. We cool.

My problem is most often that I'm grinding to get all the side quests still left near the endgame because I know I won't do them once I finished the game, but then the grind gets boring and I stop playing.

Eh, I'll wait, then. 3: the Art Dweller... this piece of music or scenic vista is so good, I'm just going to leave it here for a while and soak it in. Saving myself against the clock can wait. 4: the Underdog Weilder... what's this weak thing? Who would ever rely on that? Aww, poor thing. There there, I'll use you. Against all sense and reason! 5: the Themic Matcher... ah, I really want this effect! Or that effect! But it looks so uncoordinated with these other choices. Screw it, fashion over function! 6: the Difficulty Inventor... when the game's challenge isn't enough, add your own. No wall riding. No fast travel. Complete with as few experience points as possible. That kind of thing. 7: the KZbin Scrimper... games these days cost HOW MUCH?!? Eh, okay. Okay, walkthrough videos it is. That'll do. The soulsborne games really aren't that hard. It can be as difficult or as easy as you want, it's all about how many low level enemies you're willing to grind exp from.

I jump to hard mode cause normal and easy are typically not a challenge or not fun. Also sometimes anything above normal adds new tactics and strategies to the AI. Two examples I can think of off the top of my head in two different genres are Witcher 3 and Divinity Original Sin 2. I'm also a somewhat master of one. Only with Siege tho lol. I can tell enemies and teammate by the sound of their guns, gadgets and footsteps. I know every map by memory and could navigate them almost blindly.

Side quester/JRPG fanatic checking in to confirm the existential nightmare that being this combination can be for getting through games in a timely manner. Take Persona 5 for instance; I sunk over 150 hours into my first playthrough of that game, but I also managed to max all of my confidants and complete 90% of the Persona compendium without using a guide. Bethesda RPGs are even worse; over my 6 attempted playthroughs of Skyrim, I've only ever managed to beat the story content *_once._* The other 5 attempts I ended up sinking about 30 hours into the playthrough before the combined weight of all of the sidequests crushed my resolve to play further. Doesn't help that I tend to travel everywhere on foot, ignoring fast travel as much as I can (which honestly could easy qualify as *Entry 8* on this list).
@john_70006 жыл бұрын
Woow all confidant in first playrhrough in persona 5 can u tell me how to do it please I alwasy feels stressful when I chose what to do like the game give me a lot of time but idk i'm so paranoid
@WandererRedux6 жыл бұрын
It wasn't easy that's for sure (my last non-story Confidant to max out was Empress, with a playable day to spare), but I do have some general tips I can offer. For the sake of not spoiling, I'll refer to confidants and story details by broad terms: 1) Make note of what Confidants are available when and prioritise spending time with the ones that are available less frequently (eg: Sun is only available on Sunday nights, so you should put him ahead of those available multiple times a week). Generally I'd recommend spending more time with with those outside of your immediate party (unless you're trying to romance one of them). 2) *Always* have a Persona with the same arcana as the person you'll be spending time with on Joker (eg: if you're spending time with Lovers, then you want to have a _Lovers arcana_ Persona equipped to Joker). This is because you'll get affinity boosts through your interactions. The only exceptions to this are for story locked Confidants (that only rank up with story events), Sun and Moon (which oddly enough don't seem to require this), and during the early ranks where you'll probably be too poor to constantly retrieve Personas regularly anyway. 3) If you can't spend time with a Confidant, spend it on an activity that raises one of your personal attributes. A good early one is the bathhouse near Leblanc, where if you go on certain nights you get greater results. There's also the juice bar at the train station (offers a different attribute each day) and one of the perks Fortune can provide you for additional boosts if you have the money to spare. 4) Try to minimise your grinding/Palace progression/Mementos exploration to a single playable day. I recommend buying as many as you can carry of the basic 10HP healing items from the shops in the shopping district and using them to heal in-between battles. This allows you to drastically increase the time you can spend in fighting without running out of SP. Believe there are three different versions of the same item, so you can have up to 297 of them for 100-120 Yen per pop. 5) Many Confidant ranks will become locked by Mementos events at a certain level, so I would recommend waiting until 2-3 of them require you to head into Mementos so you can complete multiple events at once. It just makes more efficient use of your time. 6) Certain Confidants have extremely useful Perks that can be unlocked. In particular Fortune get a fantastic rank 7 perk that allows you to boost the affinity of any existing confidant for a fee. I'd recommend getting that one as soon as you can. 7) Some Confidants may have their progression locked by story events/attribute requirements/just take longer to level up, so if you feel like you're not getting anywhere, try shifting your attention to another Confidant for a while. 8) If you're good at Persona mixing and/or have a lot of Yen, you can complete all of Strength's ranks all at once. The Persona formulas can be convoluted, so if you're having issues there's no shame in turning to a formula guide. 9) If all else fails, backup saves. I made a habit to backing up and cycling through 5 different save slots just in case I made a fatal mistake. Thankfully that didn't occur, but it's still good to have fail-safes. Good luck and be sure to take your time 😏.

I did the hard-mode thing with Dishonored 2. I loaded the game and I thought “I’ve played this series, I’m a total fan, I beat Dishonored 1 nearly ten times and completed a perfect ghost run, I’ve got every achievement, I’ve played games since 1998, blah blah blah.” By the 4th mission I finally admitted that the combat on the hardest difficulty is different and... difficult, and getting caught usually meant I died. I lowered the difficulty just to play and enjoy the game first before going on that insane run later, after I actually understood the game lol
