Leaving the pitcher in that long is one of the worst coaching decisions I’ve seen
@vision8507 Жыл бұрын
No doubt. He was still in after 25 pitches and i was like get this dude out of here
@jkizzle9953 Жыл бұрын
He’s a veteran guy and was consistently getting out of whatever trouble he was in. He was doing very well before the 9th and solo homers aren’t the worst things in the world. The hbp and walk at the end is what killed them, but up until that point he was getting consistent Ks when he needed it. If the coach had the hindsight that we do I’m sure he would’ve pulled him too lmao
@PackerSmacker4 Жыл бұрын
You could say this for either Virginia or Florida. If Sproat gets taken out after 100 pitches like he should’ve, then Virginia does not score 4 runs in the 7th & this is never a game. They just made up for their error, won they were always better despite their great starter goin too long
@MattyUwU69 Жыл бұрын
@@jkizzle9953The man gave up a HR in the 8th and then the 9th he should be been pulled right after that solo
@tedjordan7567 Жыл бұрын
@@MattyUwU69it’s tricky in the CWS because you’re trying to save your pitchers for the next games as you potentially can play 4 or 5 games in less than a week. Always a fine line to walk on game 1 at Omaha.

UF has a hell of a team, I am thinking them or Wake Forest takes it due to balance… both pitching depth and a murders row lineup. I’m a Tiger fan and of course rooting for them but I am a realist. Too many pitching injuries to have the depth needed in Omaha . Anybody being honest would see that.

That 7th inning out at home from UVA was probably due to the bad route by the runner. Look at what the guy did on the play to make the game 1-1 where he made a beeline to the infield grass to make the throw more difficult. The runner who was tagged out at the plate stayed well out of the throwing lane on his way to the plate and made the play much easier on the third baseman who was in a tough spot that inning
@321gates Жыл бұрын
It should have cost UVA a run, but Halter (UF 3B) muffed a ball that would have been an easy out at the plate after the UVA runner at 3rd decided to go. Actually, all Halter had to do was make a throw, and the runner would have been called out for interference as he knew he was screwed and ran inside the baseline to obstruct what he thought would be a throw home.
