Great tutorial! You are very clear and concise, and the extra hints about backing up and startup and finishing is great! I use a drop of superglue on the last inch or so of the cord as a stringing "needle". For the last bead, just run the cord thru the bead a second time. If that'd doesn't hold an overhand knot will do... Now I know a new way to use up my kumihimo cord and all my beads!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR SKILLS!

Thank you for making what looked like a complicated process, so easy, as a complete novice, your instruction has been very easy to follow, and totally appreciated.

Thank you, Sally. This is awesome and I'm sorry I didn't watch this much earlier. I've been doing 8-strand braids for a year plus. I never get over my excitement for colors and shapes of beads and various ways to put them together. Love Kumihimo!

Thank you for such a clear and thorough instructional video on 7-cord Kumihimo. Last week, I ordered a bracelet kit and a necklace kit from you, and it arrived today, so I'm very excited to dive in. Thanks!!

Thank you for making 7 strand kumihimo so easy. I love your solution of labeling the slots alphabetically. I tried it and I always know what cord is next to move without even thinking. Fabuloso!

Thank you so much for this easy to follow tutorial. I am brand new at this and your directions helped me to follow along with PERFECT results! I kept messing up putting my beads in under the 8 strand and this was so much easier. I could really see where I needed to tuck that bead in at... lol. Your voice and music was so soothing and gentle too. I do love the flute music and am Cherokee Indian and enjoy hearing that type of music so much. Thank you again and have a blessed day. Your new friend in Colorado.

Sally, this is a fantastic video, a beautiful, easy braid to make!! I actually prefer it to the 8 warp Kumihimo. Thank you so much for the fantastic gift of your knowledge!

Thanks for a new goal, I've been trying to create a more chunky bracelet with more cords instead of less?! you have shown me it's the bead it's self that creates bulk more than number of cords, good video, thanks.

I wanted to mention that there are disappearing ink markers that you can buy in the sewing notions that will fade away. So you could write the numbers on your disk and they will disappear in a day or so. I tried it on my Sally disk and it works!

Видео понравилось. Вопрос: зачем плести на 7 нитках, если можно делать на 8 нитках ? В чём отличие ? Что лучше ? Что хуже ? I liked the video. Question: why weave on 7 threads, if you can do on 8 threads ? What's the Difference ? What's better ? Which is worse ?

Just a different style of braiding. I find the combination of beads fit together more nicely with 7 vs 8 cords.

Your tutorials are fantastic! This one is so clear and easy to follow. However, I wonder what the design advantage of 7 strands is over 8 strands? Why would I choose this over 7 strands? Nancy in Tampa

I turn my disk to the left, you are turning it to the right, does it matter with this braid? Thanks!
@SallyBeadJewelry9 жыл бұрын
+Cathy Milson it doesn't matter. As long as you are moving to the empty slot and following the alphabet. As matter of fact, after you perfect the moves you really don't need to turn the disk at all.

The cord is c-lon or s-lon which you can get at Micheals or AC Moore craft stores or any bead store or craft store.

Instead of making a new disk, just turn over a regular kumihimo disk and mark on that blank side.
@SallyBeadJewelry8 жыл бұрын
I now sell a template that sits on top of disk. Best part is you can move it from slot to slot - so the same 8 slots don't wear out. Writing on the disk will eventually stretch out the 8 slots used over and over.
@madre63227 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same. I mean you can get sticker numbers and stick those on the disk. Easy to remove.
