I thoroughly enjoy your videos and tutorials, and I am learning a lot. Can you tell me what size Kumihimo disc you use and do you always use the same size? I have found 4-inch and 6-inch round discs.
@CSLdesigns9 жыл бұрын
Cindy Singer Thank you very much. I am really glad that they are helpful. I use the 6 inch kumihimo disk. It is just the regular size, but you can easily use the mini disk. It won't affect the braid at all. It's more about what you find more comfortable to use :-)

I have been trying to find a beading Kumihimo pattern that would spiral 6 different colored beads but can't figure out how to load the beads onto the strings to obtain that spiral effect. I have done it with just the strings but was wondering how to do it with beads. Would I just do it the same as I do with the strings? I saw that you have several spiral designs and was thinking maybe you would know.

Please I have a question about the basic of this art ,how to distribute the colors to get a certain shape.if there are some references it will be great help.thank you
@CSLdesigns9 жыл бұрын
Soheir Ghozzi Do you mean how to get different patterns in the braid by how you place the cords. If so, yes there are loads of different ways to do it and patterns you can achieve. I have other videos on my channel here where I show different patterns you can make, and also a section on my website where there are several patterns you can follow. You can also visit something like www.friendshipbracelets.net and see existing patterns or even make your own with the kumihimo generator. I hope that was helpful :-)

Wow, you are very talented, your bracelet looks amazing! I heard you say we could use different cords. Do you think it will be sturdy enough if I used Chinese Knotting Cord instead of the satin??
@CSLdesigns9 жыл бұрын
Valentina Huxxely Thank you so much. Yes, you can use any type of cord or thread. It will just give different results. I would think that using a Chinese knotting cord would work as well, but you could always either change the amount of cords you use, to i.e. 8 in stead, so the braid would get a bit thinner, or you could put something else inside the braid as a core like a thicker cord to fill it in. That will also help make it more sturdy. I hope that helped :-)
@valentinahuxxely8889 жыл бұрын
Absolutely helps, thank you! Will try this myself once I find some cord ends.

Could you demonstrator how to set up a 20 strand kumihimo? I've found so many on Pinterest but every time I try to set them up to the spaces are uneven and I'm sure it's incorrect but I really want to try it. Please help, thank you.
@CSLdesigns9 жыл бұрын
VictorianRabbit3456 Thank you for the suggestion. I'll keep that in mind. Do you have a specific pattern in mind or is it just to see the distribution of the cords? Also for braids with more cords in them like 20 for example. You can get kumihimo disks with more slots in them, which would make it easier to distribute them more evenly :-)
@VictorianRabbit34569 жыл бұрын
Things like this pinterest.com/pin/373235887846639663/ Or higher pinterest.com/pin/373235887846639647/ Which was the pattern I was struggling with. If I have to buy a higher number kumihimo I will but it would be good to know this can be done on a standard one. And if a higher number kumihimo disk is needed could you post a link to where I could buy one? Thank you in advance.
@CSLdesigns9 жыл бұрын
The first pattern you should be able to do on the 'normal' disk. I have some patterns on my channel that uses that amount of cords, that might be helpful then. The second pattern you will probably have to get a disk with more slots (or make your own). Look on eBay for a 64 slot kumihimo disk :-)
