Wow it’s great to see Dave Chapelle’s Tyrone Biggums character really cleaned up his act and got his life together to become an awesome street photography. 🙏

@@WestCoast4L1f3 it makes sense, Tyrone would’ve spent a lot of time walking (running) on the streets. No doubt he would’ve see a lot of things that captured his attention.

What the professor said about shooting in NYC is the same here in DC. Cameras are so ubiquitous around here because of tourists that nobody notices you when you're shooting which makes for some tremendous freedom. That said, I like to be unobtrusive as well, so I'll usually shoot my street photography with the 135 GM so I can keep a distance, which IMO lends to more candid shots of people living their lives which is what I'm usually going for in my photography. When I want to shoot manual, my 50mm Super-Takumar f/1.4 is my go-to or a helios 44-2 58mm f/2 for some character.

He's absolutely right about manual lenses. I'm in NYC too.. and the prospect of giving up autofocus is extremely daunting here. But I swear, once you do it, it's like The Matrix haha. You simply cannot observe in real time or you miss every single shot. It puts you in this flow state that kinda feels like playing a game on hard mode? Any shot you want is there. Nearly any shot is possible since cameras and lenses are insane now. It's just on you to step into this puzzle of momentary interactions and find the spot where you're the solution. It's thrilling for sure. I've got a few vintage lenses too. You know, because just manual is too easy right? 😂 Great video. Can't wait to see what you and the professor are cooking up next 🤘

I like your style. I just got into street photography and I’m on the shy side. Plus I don’t want people making eye contact with the camera since I want it to be natural. The hardest part for me is when slutty dressed girls are in the area. There is always the sense that I’m a pervert taking their photos even though I have no interest in taking their photo because I don’t find them interesting in a photography way. Although with how big a narcissists people are today, they would probably like it. Thank’s for the video.

How do you take photos on silent mode/electronic shutter at a high shutter speed while preventing banding from indoor lighting/LED lights that flickers?
@professorhineschoice2 жыл бұрын
For that reason I never relied on silent mode. The Sony Alpha 1 is super quiet unlike my Alpha 9, allowing me to just keep in in mechanical.

Telling a story about a mediocre picture doesn't make it art. "That's when I realized that the dog was going to crap on the sidewalk... so I waited, and positioned myself so the both the sun and a random boot were also in the picture... and after a few minutes the dog crapped on the sidewalk, and I got the shot!"
