Great video mate! I have an SST Evo X as well and I couldn't agree more with what you are saying. There's an 8th way however. Temperature. You need to make sure you have a temperature reading of your SST and before you start hammering it you have to make sure it's over 65-70C. If you car is tuned you can get temperature readings using Torque pro + MUTv2 add on or you can install a RaceCapture Track unit. That's what I've done and I'm now able to monitor SST temp, SST pressures on both clutches, oil temp, oil pressure. :-)

I have a Ralliart Sportback 09 SST 200000km before my SST shift Fork 4 came loose. Biggest mistake people make is servicing and changing the trans filter. No matter what the mechanic says, always change the trans filter. I have repaired so many valve bodies because people don't want to spend money go change their filters. Also you should drive it like a manual because that's what the gear box is designed to do.

Redline dct fluid works really well on the sst gearbox
@BrendanShort14 жыл бұрын
I wish people would stop spreading misinformation about the SST gearbox. If you check the Mitsubishi service manual for the Evo X, it actually specifies to replace the gearbox fluid, you must use the Mitsubishi Diaqueen SST fluid for the change. No ifs. No buts. I know Castrol are the manufacturer of the Diaqueen fluid, but it's a Mitsubishi proprietary formula that cannot be sold by Castrol under it's own brand. It contains components that are not found in the fluid shown on the video. Second. You are supposed to drain the fluid, replace the filter. Fill the gearbox back up again. Close the fill hole. Turn on the car. Shift through the gears and back to park. Drain fluid. Remove filter. Inspect fluid and filter. If containments are found. Replace with another new filter, fill. Change gears. Drain fluid AGAIN. Check fluid and filter. If clean then you can refill and reseal the box and job done. Now that factory process will cost thousands if followed to the factory specs. I use Penrite SST fluid as my flush fluid but I always refill at the end with Diaqueen. I can get away with a fluid change for around $1200 Australian if I source the parts and get my mechanic to do the job. It's really really expensive to run an Evo X properly.

Hey mate, that fluid-topic has been discussed for years. In Germany y companies have stricter rules for oil/selling oil. Once it does catch and I start driving, it will very harshly jump revs when accelerating, and will do the same when shifting. Code reader says that the pressure control solenoid is bad, and I don't know how complicated or expensive that can be. I bought the car from a guy in Chicago that seemed like he didn't take care of it. I replaced the sst fluid with diaqueen, but couldn't afford the filter. Any suggestions or help?
