Although it's outside my budget-- I want a Sashiko machine so badly. That's why I find it comforting to watch videos and read everything about it.

They certainly are very expensive machines, but are a great investment. Hopefully you'll be able to make it a reality some day!

Put aside some money and even keep your eyes out for Baby Lock sponsored sales events, or try and find one used.

Is it safe to assume that this would be ok for stitching non-weight-bearing seams?

I live in a small town. Where does one find a sashiko machine? Approximately how much do they cost? Do they ever go on sale? How can one sign up for sales alerts?

So wish I could afford one of these. Gosh, my felting machine was so reasonable and this is so expensive.

Have you been able to use a 12wt thread in the machine?

Just got my machine and have only tried straight stitching. Takes a little getting used to. Loved the video and will refer to it when I gain experience and get ready to try new things.

I just asked myself... can I use some zipper foots with this machine? If I am on sewing vacation and only want to use one machine it would be useful.
@WonderFilThreads
@WonderFilThreads 4 жыл бұрын
You would need to contact a babylock dealer to find out if any zipper feet are compatible with this machine. However the general all-purpose foot that comes with it is not too big, so it's possible it could still work for sewing zippers. You can give it a try!

I bought one five years ago and have a mental block about using this expensive toy. Currently I am making a baby quilt and not going to use my quilting foot opting to relearn how to thread and use my Sashiko I. Thanks for this nice video. :-)

@@WonderFilThreads With practice the first hurdle made a beautiful binding where the outer edge is more spaced and larger stitches. The second stitching line was used to help ease puckers where i was off by a few millimeters, That line had smaller stitches and spaces.Hid wonkieness.
