Really useful video, Tadhg. It's a tricky one with the summarising articles task. The realist part of me is in favour given the likelihood of students actually reading a range of literature, but the other part feels that the students are getting a thin summary of a potentially rich article. This is especially true with qualitative research when it is hard to summarise quotes and discussion narrative. It makes a lot of sense for summarising quantitative results and findings.

Excellent observation. The conversation about whether students are using GenAI for assignments is over. Of course they're using it. The questions are: what uses are acceptable to you as an educator? And how can you design assessments to ensure that GenAI has been used only for what you permit?
