"Long words go rattling by us like long railway trains. We know they are carrying thousands who are too tired or too indolent to walk and think for themselves. It is a good exercise to try for once in a way to express any opinion one holds in words of one syllable." -GK Chesterton

I strongly agree about your assessment that Cormac’s writing is very appealing to the ear and is very oral in nature. When I’m reading Cormac I often find myself suddenly reading with a voice in my head.

Great video! You definitely deserve more views imo. So many student writers have their voice ruined by minimum word counts and "SAT words," so I always love seeing praise for simplicity out in the wild.

Another great video Mark. Well done! It’s interesting that in many primary schools, the children are taught to ‘up level’ their work and look for more complex words and sentence structures. Many children become obsessed with making their work too ‘flowery’. I would love to see you do a series of ‘writers’ tips videos for primary school children. It would be an incredible resource for many children as they develop the foundational skills early in their writing journey. Keep up the great ministry. 👍🏻
