Bright colors and denim dresses was on trend in the 80's. The mid to late 90's trend was grunge. I remember because I hated it. The grunge era was so unfeminine. I remember complaining all through the 90's that there were no feminine dresses and skirts in the clothing stores. I went as far as buying clothing patterns at fabric stores and tried to make my own dress. I ended up living in jeans and tshirts in the 90's because I refused to wear the dowdy grunge clothing.
