I had been wanting the game for awhile but reading some reviews I was leery that some had deemed it overly confrontational. Watching your video I realized it seemed fine so I went ahead & placed an order after all. Good job by you both in showing off this game!

Hi Andrew. 7 Wonders Duel is of course a bit confrontational because it is a 2-player battle, but I feel that it is not confrontational in a nasty way like Food Chain Magnate can be! It is really fun, and for such a small box you get a pretty big game. There are a lot of big decisions to make, so lots of strategy and different ways to win. Let us know how it goes when you get to play it!

Good show guys! I like this game a lot. Looked like you had some trouble remembering the links and missed a few opportunities because of it. Other than that I liked Pat's strategy to pick up a couple of yellow cards early on tonget the economy going. I was a little surprised though that noone went for sciences and picked up Architecture early on. It makes building Wonders a breeze. Congratulations to 1k subscribers!

Hey SIrbrastias! Yeah, I only noticed later that I missed a link especially on the Dispensary in the second age. I couldn't afford the card otherwise and I wanted to play it to take Economy. That would have given me plenty of cash and deterred Glai from building when she had to pay me for resources... I was kicking myself! But 7 Wonders Duel is a superb game. It's quick and full of strategy with a great theme and good mechanics! Thanks for the congrats! It's taken 10 months to get there, but it is nice to have reached our second milestone (the first being 100 subscribers!). We'll keep plugging away and hopefully continue to grow. We both really appreciate your support, right from the start of our channel!

Thanks for the video, I’m a bit late to the party. This explains the game well, better than the instructions, that’s for sure. I’m a bit unclear still about what happens to the resources used to build a Wonder. Do they all get placed underneath, never to be used again, or only the card that you drew in that turn?

Hi there. It's great that our video has helped you to learn the game. As regards building Wonders, first of all you take the Age Card, and pay the cost of the Wonder (not the one of the Age card). Then place the Age card you took face down, partially covered by the Wonder card which is being constructed. The used card has no effect, it is simply used to show that the Wonder has been built. The resources are used as normal, so if your city produces them you can use them and you will still have those cards for the rest of the game. You may also use the Trade action to get resources, the same as you would to build any other card. The cost to trade for resources is 2 + number of symbols of the same resources produced by the brown and grey cards of the opposing city. Hope this helps!

8:39 Hi, thank you for the video. I'm still learnig the game and I'm a little confused. shouldn't you pay 5 for the piraeus (2 for bricks since your opponent has a bricks card and you have a discount and 3 for the wood since you have only one, without a discount and your opponent has 1 wood).

Hi Yasser. Sure, let me explain how it worked here. Piraeus has a cost of 1 Brick, 1 Stone and 2 Wood. So I (Pat) am producing 1 Wood and 2 Stone, which means that I need to buy 1 Brick and 1 Wood. I have a card in my city called the Clay Reserve (you can see it at 06:47). This card means that I can always buy Brick at a cost of just 1 coin. I need to buy the second Wood, which I get for a base cost of 2 coins + 1 coin for every Wood that Glai produces on her brown and grey cards. She produces 1 Wood, so it costs 2+1=3 coins. So the total cost is 3 coins for the Wood and 1 coin for the Brick = 4 coins. Hope this helps and also hope that our video helped you to learn how to play the game. All the best!

There are so many great games that it is hard to narrow it down, but we both really like Terraforming Mars, Gloomhaven, Spirit Island... What are the final two rows on the scoring sheet for?

Hi Mitchell. The final two rows are for an all-out military, or an all-out science victory. There is no real need for them because if this happens you would not need to calculate final scores.

Hi João! Because Glai produces 1 brick, normally I would have to pay 3 coins (2 base cost + 1 for her production) for each brick I need. However, because I have the yellow "Clay Reserve" card, I am able to purchase brick for just 1 coin each. Thanks for your comment! We hope you enjoyed the video.

Yes, that’s right. Those cards are very useful if you can get your hands on them because you can’t be blocked from getting the resources. We’re really glad to hear you are enjoying our videos. @@AllAboardBoardgames we play the usual 2 player game like patchwork, imhotep duel or 7wonders duel but lately we prefer to play multiplayer games that works rly good with 2, like five tribes, wingspan, everdell, tiny towns, reef, castels of burgundy, etc.. If you have more ideas of múltiplayer games that play with 2 tell me plz 😍

@ Nice! There are a few in there that I have my eyes on - Five Tripes, Imhotep Duel, Castles of Burgundy are some for sure. We will be making a video soon on some of our favourite games to play for 2 players so please keep an eye out for that. Hopefully you can get a few tips there!

So if i need to build something and i havent for example glass but it cost 2 glasses and the other player has 5 glass how much should I pay?

If the other player is manufacturing 5 glass on their grey buildings (this cannot happen as there are not that many grey glass manufacturing cards and yellow cards and Wonders' production does not count, but just for the sake of the example...), then you need to pay 2 coins for each glass, plus 1 coin for each glass your opponent produces. This would be 2+5=7 for one glass. As you need two glass, then you would have to pay this twice so 7x2=14. I hope this helps! :)

Yes, you are absolutely correct. I could have built the green card for free because I had the linked symbol already in my city. I missed that, and it was very costly to me as I would have then had 2 of the same Science tags, and that would have given me one of the very valuable Progress tokens. Well spotted!

Is see many playtrough on KZbin with the small mistake so now i keep doubting myself if i play the game correctly or not, the rule book seems to be very clear about this particular rule.

​@@Harutjun The rulebook states that if you have in your city all of the resources indicated on the Building, then you can construct that Building. If you are short of any resources, you can get them by trading, and the cost is 2 coins + number of symbols of the same resources produced by the brown and grey cards of the opposing city. In the case you mentioned at 10:43, the Horse Breeders cost 1 brick and 1 wood to build. Glai was already producing these resources on the brown cards in her city, so she did not need to trade to get any more. Hope this helps!

@@AllAboardBoardgames yes she had wood and brick, you also have wood at that moment so she has to pay for your 1 wood as well, that's where the mistake is XD she got it for free but she needed to pay 1 coin because you also have wood in your market / system, it does not matter if she already has wood. You always still pay for what the opponent also has even when you have enough resources. There is no trading system in this game,, i assume you mean buying from the bank. Right?

Buying the extra resources that you need in this game is known as "Trading". You can check the rule on page 8 of the rulebook. May I please ask a question: If you have control of the Decree token chamber which is a "Blue card +2". You have just acquired a Senate card. Which is correct?
